Continual reloading of a page is usually a cookie permission problem.
Google and a few other sites are notorious for doing this if they can't
set the cookies they want. I usually set them for session retention and
they load fine.
I've also had pages load very slowly or just freeze while loading and
never complete. I've found this to be a router problem where the MTU is
set to high, like the max of 1500. I knock it down to about 1380 and the
pages load normally.
I don't have any intel macs so I haven't seen any problems with firefox
that way. Although I have had the same issues on my Windows intel
machines. And the fixes were the same.

The main problems I have with Firefox are on my Intel MacBook, so pardon me
if discussion of them is a bit off topic. But the last few updates have
resulted in frequent crashes and freezes requiring me to force-close the app
and then re-open it. Annoying.

I haven't had a problem with this on either my G3 or my G4, but then I don't
really use either of those machines to do much web surfing these days.

I mostly use Safari and then Firefox. I have Camino for when Safari or
Firefox won't work. I have has iCab and Opera in the past.

iCab is fine for what it is and Opera, well Opera fubarred during the last

At the time a Mac and Hackintosh-using friend recommended Camino, and
after a short learning curve I found it to be very stable (it has only
crashed a couple of times) and has a very clean user interface and is
smooth running.
The only issue is a strange one, related to eBay. Occasionally if I
click on an item to view it, I get a message from eBay saying that
this listing has been restricted, either due to an issue relating to
French perfume trademarks, or to US restrictions on military-related
hardware (this is usually on listings for 2nd World War communications
receivers - go figure!).
Talking with my MacHack friend I mentioned this and he says he has
occasionally noticed this problem but it only occurs with Camino, and
having tried opening these 'blocked' listings in Firefox they open
quite normally. He thinks that this is something in eBay, rather than
a fault in Camino.
But generally Camino is a great browser.
FWIW on the odd occasions I use Firefox, (mostly to use downloadHelper
for UTube videos), it seems stable and reliable these days, and on the
odd occasion when I have to use a Windoze machine it beats the crap
out of Internet Explorer, which I find clunky and nasty.
I have tried Safari but I can't get enthusiastic about it,

so? you know, i still use netscape 7 regularly because it has a
decent HTML editor built-in and it was FREE. and it has been
"unsupported" for years. yet it still works just fine. when they
stop releasing upgrades of firefox for PPC, stop downloading them, and
keep using the one you have. the world will not end, and your 'puter
will not explode.

Apple has not, AFAIK, but the writing has been on the wall for the PPC
architecture since the release of Snow Leopard a little over a year
ago. So keep your fingers crossed, but it's a question of time --
months, I'd wager.
