Category: win32 Group: 2.0.0 beta 6 Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: TweeterMan (tweeterman) Assigned to: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Summary: Gaim accesses hard drive forever, very slow Initial Comment: Gaim 2.0.0 beta6, Windows XP SP2 Whenever I open Gaim, it forever is accessing the hard drive, and runs very slow, along with slowing down the whole computer. I installed the latest GTK as well. Although the computer runs slow, task manager says that almost none of the CPU usage is being eaten up. -- Comment By: TweeterMan (tweeterman) Date: 2007-04-05 13:29 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1628338 Originator: YES Hmm, perhaps it's my computer. I used System Restore to go back to the farthest point, about a week and a half ago, thinking maybe that'd do something. Didn't help at all. -- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-04-04 15:05 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO There is nothing in the log that looks at all abnormal. -- Comment By: TweeterMan (tweeterman) Date: 2007-04-04 14:45 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1628338 Originator: YES Okay, I uninstalled EVERYTHING Gaim related off of my computer, and then reinstalled, and also installed GTK+ 2.10.7, and the problem still exists. Debug log attached. File Added: log.txt -- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-04-03 19:55 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO If you run gaim from a cmd shell: Start-Run-cmd cd c:\Program Files\Gaim gaim -d log.txt To get the GTK+ version, look at Help-About -- Comment By: TweeterMan (tweeterman) Date: 2007-04-03 19:13 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1628338 Originator: YES Oh, sorry, I don't know what my GTK+ version is, all I know is that it's the one included in the Gaim 2.0.0beta6 installation. I also couldn't figure out how to redirect the log's output... -- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-04-03 14:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO You can redirect the output to a file: `gaim -d log.txt` You didn't mention a version for GTK+ (which is what I was referring to). -- Comment By: TweeterMan (tweeterman) Date: 2007-04-03 14:33 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1628338 Originator: YES If you read closely, I DID mention a version number. =P Okay, I got a debug dialog box up (command prompt), but how would I save all of this? -- Comment By: Daniel Atallah (datallah) Date: 2007-04-03 09:39 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=325843 Originator: NO What does the debug log say? (`gaim -d`) Please avoid using phrases like the latest version and include specific version numbers. -- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detailatid=100235aid=1693108group_id=235 - Take Surveys.
