Is there any news or a winner of said contest? Thanks Rich - Original Message - From: Liam Erven Right now the audio demo is still the same old one, but I will be releasing something before the game is released. There are still things I have to add and change, so once the main game is finalized, I'll be recording some audio from it. I think it'll be worth the wait. Re: [Audyssey] LWorks Updates
Hi Liam, If memory serves me correctly I believe you were offering a contest to guess the download size of the game. There are a lot of new features I've added since the last audio demo. Liam Erven KC9KHY msn and Email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] homepage: http://www.liamerven.com ___ Gamers mailing list .. Re: [Audyssey] Electronic talking chess game
Hi charles, Thanks for your suggestions. Maybe, a talking chess game is not the solution for me, because I live in denmark, and those, I've seen on the net, are made in the US or England, making it impossible for me to try before I buy. I would think, those beeping ones are more widely available, since they are made for the sighted. I'm just not sure how I should figure out what moves the computer makes, if I try that option. Have you tried any of those devices yourself? Your suggestion about a computer chess program is not bad either. The reason, I didn't mention that option in my previous post is that I would like to be able to play the game while travelling for instance, where power for a computer is not always available. I have a laptop, but it's not much use without constant power anymore, because its battery is old and only lasts half an hour or less at a time. I wouldn't mind trying a chess program though. actually, I have tried one called WinbBoard some years ago. I soon got frustrated and tired of it though, since it had no difficulty settings, which of course meant,I had absolutely no chance of beating the computer. I seem to have lost the installer for it, when I moved to the laptop, so I don't have it anymore. Which programs would you recommend? Best regards, Susanne - Original Message - From: "Charles Rivard" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Friday, November 17, 2006 4:04 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Electronic talking chess game | My first thought would be, "How about a chess program for your PC?" Right now the audio demo is still the same old one, but I will be releasing something before the game is released. There are still things I have to add and change, so once the main game is finalized, I'll be recording some audio from it. I think it'll be worth the wait. [Audyssey] Jaws accessible Baseball
I have made the Strat O Matic Computer Baseball game accessible with Jaws. Making it Window Eyes is next. I have only begun this but for now you can get a demo of the Strat Baseball Computer game at: http://www.playball.ws Look for the "Strat Instructional Jukebox"link. There you can download the demo and there are also help audio files that you can listen too. I plan to drop in the startup kit a Jaws demo so those who have other TTS can check out the game demo. MOstly it will be a link to where you one can get the latest demo of Jaws. The Strat games are manager sims that use actual players from past season. As being the only blind Strat player in a league that plays over the net, I have two teams both being the Chicago teams. At this time we are finsihing up the 1938 and I am looking forward the 1939 season where a rookie of Ted Willims starts to play for the Red Sox. Gary aka Crash ___ Gamers mailing list .. Re: [Audyssey] Goal Ball Game
There's a website I came across a while back with an audible version of "goalball one on one" but it's in English and no on-screen text. It seems you need a version which also puts text on your screen so you can cut and paste the text into Google, translate it into Portugese and have your screen reader speak it. Surely if you want an audio game you want it to be in a language you can understand, so the question is whether there is an accessible version of the game in Portugese? -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Wagner Maia Sent: 17 November 2006 16:41 To: gamers@audyssey.org Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Goal Ball Game Hi, I want to ask for excuses for problems caused for my bad English. The game of goal ball is very simple. It would be almost like Jim Kitchen's game of Pong with a bell sound for the ball. I sure would like to play Goal Ball again, but not on the PC. Re: [Audyssey] Electronic talking chess game
My first thought would be, "How about a chess program for your PC?" I can send you a free one as an Email attachment, or you can get one that has a 30-day trial period. As far as a talking chess computer, I think your best bet would be to, if possible, try it before you buy it. Another thought is that, maybe, you don't need the computer to talk. Some chess computers have beeps to indicate when the correct squares are pressed, and you can cut rubber strip magnets that have adhesive on their backs to the size of the squares and center them on the squares of the pressure sensitive board. You can cut pieces of strip magnet to size and stick them onto the bottom of each chess piece, then mark the black pieces in any way so that you can distinguish them from the White. Talking chess computers are more expensive and they have fewer features than these, so you can save a lot of money and it doesn't take all that long to modify a beeping computer. - Original Message - From: "Susanne Pedersen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Thursday, November 16, 2006 9:20 PM Subject: [Audyssey] Electronic talking chess game > Hi all, > I would like to buy an electronic talking chess game. Re: [Audyssey] Baseball game
Hello. jim kitchen has produced an accessible baseball game using Sapi and sound effects, you can get it at: http://kitchensinc.blindprodigy.net/ As to how good it is, I'm probably not the best person to ask. Being both English and not really into sports, I found the game slightly incomprehensible, though hitting the balls was fun. Hope this helps, Dark. - Original Message - From: "Stancil Tootle" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Sent: Friday, November 17, 2006 1:44 AM Subject: [Audyssey] Baseball game > Hello List: > Where can I find a good baseball game? Being in the UK, I did once consider producing an accessible version of our equivalent but I decided there probably wouldn't be much interest in accessible rounders. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Stancil Tootle Sent: 17 November 2006 01:45 To: gamers@audyssey.org Subject: [Audyssey] Baseball game Hello List: Where can I find a good baseball game? [Audyssey] Electronic talking chess game
Hi all, I would like to buy an electronic talking chess game. I've looked around on the net for one, and found 4 or 5 different models, if i remember correctly, with varying prices. However, I find it hard to decide which one to get, since the descriptions, I've read, aren't that informative. Also, on one site, where I found two different models, there was no comparison between the cheap and the expensive one. Therefore, I'd appreciate it, if someone could recommend a chess game, they think, is good. The game should meet one or more of the following criteria: 1. Ability to play as a fully blind person. 2. Ability to play alone against the game. 3. Ability to set difficulty level. (I'm picking the game up again after many years, so guess, I'm a beginner). Please don't hesitate to ask what you don't understand in the manual. I really like it to help people understanding games. What exactly is it that you struggle with. Is the manual unclear? I can start off with the most basic hint: don't try to play the game on a higher difficulty. Start off on easy and if you beat the game on easy then you go over to normal etc. AT this stage I went so far as level 8 in insane difficulty; so I understand how the game works so I'm really willing to help you wherever you get stuck. If you can tell me exactly what in the game presents a problem, I will know better how to help you. -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Chris Sent: 17 November 2006 04:05 AM To: gamers Subject: [Audyssey] self distruct how the heck do you work the game? are there instructions?
