[Audyssey] Dogfight, trailer

2007-01-30 Thread Dark
Hello.

A gentleman calling himself Doggrowl posted a message on the audiogames forum
in december to say he was in the process of developing an audio hellicopter
action game entitled dogfight.

He's just posted a trailer for the game, and as he's not a member of this list
I thought I'd relay the info.

the game does sound intreaguing, a litle like a more strategic version of
episode 1 of Xhour. i'd like to know more about the mission structure of the
game.

Btw, while I certainly approve of realism in games (look at Lords of the Galaxy
using Sfx from Nasa missions), I hope the Iraq battle footage and effects are
just effects and not political bias.

Anyway, you can get the trailer here: http://www.doggrowl.com/

Beware the Grue!

[Audyssey] technoshock

2007-01-30 Thread Janet
Hi Technoshock fans! It's Janet in Texas again. Really need some help. I'm
tired of dying in level two. I've tried to find the keys, but I can't could
use some help.

Also if people are looking for games that don't take a whole lot of time and
that are fun to play I recommend Mud Splat and Duck Blaster. Killing
monsters with water is fun, and shooting ducks that sound kind of like
Donald Duck is funny.

every payment after that you get more turns, 500 per payment, up to I
believe 6 months you can pay for. Its only 20 bucks for roughly 3 months,

Re: [Audyssey] Warriors 2 info

2007-01-30 Thread Dark
Hmmm, so the 20 days thing just gives you extra turns? do you accumulate
turns dayly anyway? if so I'll probably just do what I did with kingdom of
loathing, wait a few days for a big stack of turns to build up then play for
a bit.

to be honest, while I'm quite willing to try the game out, I'm not sure if
the questing side of things sounds really the sort of thing that interests
me. Exploration, and doing quests are the thing that most interests me in
these type of games, - not that there are really that many online text
rpg's that offer much in that line besides Sryth (and Sryth doesn't update
frequently enough to keep me really satisfied).

Anyway, I will probably try Warriors II out at some point, so expect to get
some referal points soon.

[Audyssey] sarah at the opera house!

2007-01-30 Thread nicol
Sheesh! This is not my lucky day, today! says Sarah as she walk by her
dad's hand out of the castle.
Yes, we agree, my daughter her mom says when she gets into the car.
Shame you tried your best. Those beasties just wasn't fare. They took your
magic energy with such a hit! Shame was that dementor cruel?
We're proud of you our daughter. It's not your fault that the caretaker
abandoned you. You have your aparating license and you really studied well
in magic arts. This just wasn't your lucky day!
To make up for that my child we're taking you to covent gardens.
Covent gardens? Sarah exclaimed.
I've never been there. I wanted to see what opera is like.
Opera is much the same as ballad, my child. Instead of ballad it is
couples of people on the stage doing romantic movements while they are
singing.
Yes, mom I have listened to opera on the radio. It's those men and woman
roaring. It sounds as if their toes are pinched in a door.
Sarah's parents laughed.
Yes it might sound like that but it's actually very romantic.
We will go tonight.
So Sarah and her parents got home and got dressed for the opera night
Hay mom, can I put on my headless hat?
Sarah's mom laughed.
: Oh no my child then your head will disappear. The whole audience will get
a fright.
So they went and they watched an opera called
A la Greta boheme stupefy wizardry.
Sarah was most enlightened. It's a man and a woman doing an opera show where
they walk through the same castle she visited.
One piece of the opera was where the woman was singing a part out of one of
the screaming books.
When Sarah recognized it, she whispered to her mom while they were sitting
in their seats.
Oh mom I recognize this. Today when I was in the castle when I was about to
open one of the books it was screaming at me. Now this couple has changed
this book into opera. This woman with her sweet voice imitates the
screaming book so good. I will rather listen to her than hearing the
screaming book again
Lol lol lol.
Guys, this is just a short story I've quickly made up to show you my kind of
humor.
Something fascinates me about the game, Phil.
The title is: Sarah and the castle of witchcraft and wizardry.
Here in South Africa there are also many stories told about witches. Hear in
south Africa witch craft is known as old women with only one tooth in their
mouth and they also have a few hairs of beard on their faces and then each
witch lives in a house with their cat.
The cat in south African witch stories is always known for doing the dirty
work, cleaning the house, making tea for the witch from those prickling
plants; lighting the fire.
But the witches doesn't abuse their cats. They are allowed to sleep by the
fire once their work is done and they also travel with the witch on the
broom.
The witch always makes herself a magical brew. It's a big pot on the stove
with a lot of magical ingredients, which she boils and then eats.
These witches also have hats with a sharp point.
These hats doesn't perform any magic, its just a hat which witches in south
African witch stories commonly ware.
Witches in south African witch stories flies on their brooms. Each witch
takes her cat with her, and goes flying a bit.
The most witches in south African witch stories is wicked witches; casting
spells on children trying to bank school. So far I have only heard 2 witch
stories of good witches. The one, its actually a whole series of stories, is
of this kind witch who always forgots the spells her grandma taught her. The
only thing she can bring about with magic is a horse but the horse
always helped her out of trouble. Here in south africa, in our language
Afrikaans we have an expression if something frightfully happened: oh griet!
So this horse is named griet. In English you would sayh: oh gosh. Something
like that. So when this witch gets frightened she also use this expression:
oh griet but each time she uses it she cast a spell which causes the horse
to come to her. But then the difficult part IS TO CAST THE HORSE TO
DISAPPEAR AGAIN. ALL SHE HAVE TO say to let him disappear is: good bye
griet. But she forgets it each time. Its actually a dwarth story. Its a
lot of dwarths. They have a dwarth king. This dear witch, in Afrikaans she
was known as little dear witch, she had a friend called karel cat. Karel
also being an Afrikaans name. He always helped her out of misery when the
king was angry with her because she was so forgetful. So one day the king
found out that dear little witch didn't even have a cat, so he wanted to
through her out of his kingdom, because she can't help him get rid of all
the mice but her friend carel cat gave her his nephew, little Mathew,
actually in afrikaans called matewis cat. He is not a magical cat, but at
least dear little witch have a cat. And dear little witch was also fond of
singing. She tried to make up her own songs, but she sings on one note.
Dear little witch also had a broom.
So this is just to give you An idea about south

[Audyssey] silly game idea

2007-01-30 Thread nicol
HI all
since the audio game maker project is going to kick in soon after the
bartimious project have settled in after the fire, I thought of dropping a
silly game idea which came in my mind.
It happened all like this.
One day at work my computer stressed me out completely because it was
hanging up constantly.
So I got totally beyond myself and I start banging my feet on the floor,
something I won't normally do.
One of my colleagues, normally when he wants to make me attentive to
something, he would walk up to me, tap me on my shoulder and talk to me, he
doesn't send me e-mails that often.
So I got this formal e-mail message:
Will you please stop banging your feet?
I laughed at the formality of asking me.
So I thought of a game idea.
Your task is to kill enemies hiding under the wooden floor of your office.
You kill them by banging your feet.
Its robbers that hides under the floor.
You get the following e-mail from your colleague unaware that you are
killing enemies.
Hi
Will you please stop banging your feet? You are disturbing everyone that
wants to work.
At that moment you realize that you have to kill the last robbers before
havoc breaks loose and that there isn't time to reply to your colleague.
So you give your feet another few good bangs and before your colleague can
drop another serious message he hears the death cries of the robbers.
This game called foot bang is a nice point racker. Once you manage to kill
50 robbers you win the game. You have to bang your feet several times to
kill each robber and if you are not quick enough, the robber comes out from
underneath the floor and kills you.
The game is self voicing and so no screen reader is required.
If you are interested in making such a game it will be good to define the
keystrokes so that control will bang your feet, and shift will speak your
points.
You will hear each robber's death cry .
You will hear constant e-mail messages from your colleague asking you to
stop banging your feet.
Also if you don't kill all 50 robbers in time, your colleague will report
you to your boss which will come into your office and dismiss you for
causing havoc while you are suppose to work. Once that happens the game is
also over.
The voice speaking your score as you press shift and the voice reading
your colleague's e-mail messages is 2 different voices.
It would be nice if the voice speaking the e-mail messages can be an
eloquence voice.
Each e-mail message will become a more urgent request.
But if you guyhs are going to try out creating such a game, you must really
find or record a good foot banging sound.
Give it a try once audio game maker is available.
Audio game maker is not for me, I'm just not the type of person who have
cold hard logic.
But I'm leaving it for you guys.
This is just a silly idea that came up in my mind when I received my
colleague's formal polite e-mail request.

[Audyssey] adplug winamp mods

2007-01-30 Thread shaun everiss
Hi.
I know a few of you on list, use or play old game soundtracks.
Has anyone had any success with the adlib winamp player adplug?
After reading a blog post with loads and loads of files for old music tracks
for games I decided to get the plugins to play the files.
One of these was adplug another was skaler.
Once installed with either of these oplugins I couldn't play any midi file in
winamp.
In adplug it says I can turn off modules to play but the tab options are not
well done and quite visual and midi was not included in formats.
Also the adplug site has no contact info to report this.
For now both plugins are uninstalled as I want to play midi files.
send all answers privately unless you are on talk2, you can post to that list
if you are.

 HI all
since the audio game maker project is going to kick in soon after the
bartimious project have settled in after the fire, I thought of dropping a
silly game idea which came in my mind.
 It happened all like this.
One day at work my computer stressed me out completely because it was
 hanging up constantly.
So I got totally beyond myself and I start banging my feet on the floor,
 something I won't normally do.
One of my colleagues, normally when he wants to make me attentive to
something, he would walk up to me, tap me on my shoulder and talk to me,
 he
doesn't send me e-mails that often.

Lol. that's just hilarious. Killing robbers under the floor? Heh. How about
the game has levels? Level one you have 10 robbers, 2 20, 3 is 30, and so on
till level 20 or so. Of course the robbers get faster and faster. Once you
complete all 20 levels, the boss comes after you. He throws different items
like clipboards, papers, and the like which you have to catch in midair and
throw back at him. Lol. Think I made the game even weirder now.

2007-01-30 Thread aaron danvers-jukes
i also have a silly game idea.
it's kind of like old man stanley's house but different, as it's not pinball
and it's a different story:
you are on your computer like normal when all of a sudden your screen reader
stops. it then suddenly says, in the eloquents voice,
you stupid blind person! i hate reading items on the desktop! i don't want
to be your screen reader anymore! and it teleports you.
this is my house. you now work for me! you will clean the floors, wash up,
and do the dinner, and let me have a nice long rest from your computer! and
if you don't, i will kill you! buahahahhahahaha! this makes you really
angry.
so here you are. you must explore the house and make as much haverk as
possible. (excuse spelling please)
you start off with a sword and your fists. so you go forward and there's a
cat, you can punch it or chop it up lol. there's a cupboard, and inside is
an extremely powerfull axe -- better than your sword. so you can get that
and then start smashing up the cupboard, all this time eloquents says stuff
like stop smashing my cupboard! give me that axe! i want your sword to chop
your head off! and then you can go into another room when your done
smashing thigns up in the first room. you get points for each item you
smash.
then you go into another room, this could be the living room. there's a cd
player, which you can turn on and off. and speed up and slow down, and skyp
tracks and other funny things. when your finished you can smash the disk
inside, which stops the cd player working, or you can smash the cd player.
(more points for smashing the disk) the messages become more and more
threatening. you, get, out, of, my, house, right, now
and inside the cd player... is a gun! (that's why you have to smash the
disk) so you get the gun. there's a tv. so ya can shoot the tv and hear a
huge crash, the screen reader's really angry with you now.
so you go into the next room, and smash up other thigns, finding more
weapons and items to reek haverk. you unlock other abilities such as you
being able to spin around and hit multiple objects with your head, arms, or
legs.
at the end your screen reader is so angry and now it's time for the faceoff.
you destroy the screen reader and are teleported back home, and you wake up.
there's an ending sequence after that, if anyone's interested i will e-mail
off list.
just an idea.

no. a better thing: how about infinite levels and every 4th the robber boss
comes, until like level 100. perhaps not infinite, or, even better, it
starts with 20. you beat the game. 40 levels. beat it again. 60 levels. and
you keep on beating the more levels you complete the more are added to the
game and eventually there is an ending. every 4th the boss comes. after
level 20 he comes at you really mad. then when you beat the game at level 30
he's madder still, and at level 40 he's really mad. basicly he will
eventually end up dying, you'll have to find something to perhaps kill him,
or make him run. so perhaps not dying lol

comes, until like level 100. perhaps not infinite, or, even better, it
starts with 20. you beat the game. 40 levels. beat it again. 60 levels.
 and
you keep on beating the more levels you complete the more are added to the
game and eventually there is an ending. every 4th the boss comes. after
level 20 he comes at you really mad. then when you beat the game at level
 30
he's madder still, and at level 40 he's really mad. basicly he will
eventually end up dying, you'll have to find something to perhaps kill
 him,
or make him run. so perhaps not dying lol

i also have a silly game idea.
it's kind of like old man stanley's house but different, as it's not
 pinball
 and it's a different story:
you are on your computer like normal when all of a sudden your screen
 reader
stops. it then suddenly says, in the eloquents voice,
you stupid blind person! i hate reading items on the desktop! i don't
 want
to be your screen reader anymore! and it teleports you.
this is my house. you now work for me! you will clean the floors, wash
 up,
and do the dinner, and let me have a nice long rest from your computer!
 and
if you don't, i will kill you! buahahahhahahaha! this makes you really
 angry.
so here you are. you must explore the house and make as much haverk as
 possible. (excuse spelling please)
you start off with a sword and your fists. so you go forward and there's
 a
cat, you can punch it or chop it up lol. there's a cupboard, and inside
 is
an extremely powerfull axe -- better than your sword. so you can get that
and then start smashing up the cupboard, all this time eloquents says
 stuff
like stop smashing my cupboard! give me that axe! i want your sword to
 chop
your head off! and then you can go into another room when your done
smashing thigns up in the first room. you get points for each item you
 smash.
then you go into another room, this could be the living room. there's a
 cd
player, which you can turn on and off. and speed up and slow down, and
 skyp
tracks and other funny things. when your finished you can smash the disk
inside, which stops the cd player working, or you can smash the cd
 player.
(more points for smashing the disk) the messages become more and more
threatening. you, get, out, of, my, house, right, now
and inside the cd player... is a gun! (that's why you have to smash the
disk) so you get the gun. there's a tv. so ya can shoot the tv and hear a
huge crash, the screen reader's really angry with you now.
so you go into the next room, and smash up other thigns, finding more
weapons and items to reek haverk. you unlock other abilities such as you
being able to spin around and hit multiple objects with your head, arms,
 or
 legs.
at the end your screen reader is so angry and now it's time for the
 faceoff.
you destroy the screen reader and are teleported back home, and you wake
 up.
there's an ending sequence after that, if anyone's interested i will
 e-mail
 off list.
 just an idea.

[Audyssey] sryth question

2007-01-30 Thread acarthon
I have just started playing Sryth, and I am wondering about a couple of
things.

1. While I was creating my character, I was given the option to place the
20 points or not into 4 of the skill areas. My question has to do with
the info following certain skill such as
10 EXP. bonus or 15 EXP. penalty.
What does this mean?
Also, I notice that I am only able to use the skill areas that I have
placed the 20 points into. Will I be able to acquire the other skills
later?
2. This inquiry might be more easier. I have received some gold from
various characters in the story, but the amount is not shown as being
added to my total gold. How am I supposed to access/use the other gold?
So far, I have had a couple of victories, and have died twice. I guess I
ran out of luck. smile
Hahaha! Sorry guys, I couldn't resist the temptation.
Thanks for any assistance and clarification.

Re: [Audyssey] sryth question

2007-01-30 Thread Yvonne Alaniz
Okay,
I will try to answer all your questions. The notations after your
skills like 10 percent bonus indicate that your numbers are good enough to
get you a reduction or increase in the number of xp that is required to
raise that skill. As far as the gold goes the gold is usually put on a link
that you have to click on to add it to your money. I had trouble with this
one at first too. Just remember to make sure and click that link to get
your gold from someone. As far as learning other skills there will be some
skills you will be able to pick up along the way. Keep your eyes peeled for
those opportunities.

Re: [Audyssey] sryth question

2007-01-30 Thread Bryan Peterson
EXP bonus means you save that percentage when you go to train skills.
Penalty therefore means it costss that much more. As for acquiring skills,
it is now possible to acquire all the skills and powers in the game, but
certain conditions must be met. If you can ever manage to join the
Adventurers' Collective (I won't say where they are found), you'll be able,
with enough gold, to learn every skill and power in the game.
As for gold, you sometimes have to click the link in order to take it. For
instance if there's every a link that says the number 2, it means you found
two gold coins, so you click the link to actually take it.
