Hi.

When I click on the link to here the review, I'm told that an error occurred
trying to open the folder and to make sure I have permission. Any
suggestions about what's going on here would be helpful, as I'm always up

[Audyssey] sryth general questions

2007-02-09 Thread acarthon
Hi list,
It's AC. I am writing you to inquire about a few features in Sryth that
I have noticed for a while now.
Beware reading further if you don't want to know about a few sections in
the game. I tried to be as vague as possible.
1. I am wondering why there are certain areas that are labeled as "not
yet playable" even though I am now a full subscriber. Does this have to
do with my
level of experience?
2. I have also noticed that after making certain decisions in a
conflict/combat situation, that the option on fleeing usually seems to
mean that you won't be able
to come back and fight that individual later. I am specifically talking
about the priest that was beaten in the Cathedral, and the young guy at
the Moon
shore inn. I believe that is the name of the place. Will I be able to
actually fight these conflicts some time in the future, or is that aspect
of the
adventure actually over.
3. I am wondering how might a player go about earning/acquiring
adventure tokens besides referring a friend.
4. I ran across an option to explore the area I believe I was in Central
Tysa around the cathedral. However, they want you to enter a specific
location/address.
How do you go about doing this. I have ran across one person so far who
gave me a street name and how many houses down the block she was, but
that's about
it.
5. I am wondering if there is an option for either joining up with other
players during the game or engaging in battle with them. I see an option
for "see
other adventurers in this location", but after selecting it I just get
the name and ability for each of them.
6. This will be my final question for now at least. smile
Is there a document describing the various levels of mastery for skills
such as weaponry? I am talking about the levels of mastery such as
novice. I don't
know of any others because I haven't made it that far yet. smile I just
want to know how many points each level will need before it is
fulfilled/mastered. What effect does this have on my character's ability?

I hope I am making sense. If not, don't feel bad. I tend to confuse
myself at times. smile
Thanks for any help.

Re: [Audyssey] sryth general questions

2007-02-09 Thread Bryan Peterson
If an area is listed as not yet playable it means just that, that it's not
yet playable. It doesn't have anything to do with subscriber status. It just
means those areas aren't yet online.
As for fleeing combat situations like the one in the cathedral in Talinus,
if you run away you can't go back unless you first quit the game without
saving and then reload.
I don't remember a young guy in the Moonshore Crossroads unless you're
talking about the money lender, and there are a few ways you can finishthat
scenario, the least painful being to pay him the fifty gold.
As for the various skill levels, every ten levels you get a new one. 1-10
is novice, 10-20 is Apprentice, 20-30 is Journeyman and so on. In the case
of Weaponry, every ten levels your Melee Rating increases by one point. The
same goes for subskills. If you're using a sword and you have the skill of
Weaponry, Slashing, then raising it ten levels will increase your MR. But
the EXP cost increases every four or five levels, so keep that in mind.

The areas you're seeing as not yet playable aren't playable for anybody.
They are areas that literally are not in the game yet, but they're listed
because they should soon be in the game.

Sorry to say, but certain adventures will simply end if you flea from
combat. There are certain combats you aren't meant to flea from, and those
two are prime examples.
> 3. I am wondering how might a player go about earning/acquiring
> adventure tokens besides referring a friend.
Well, there are two other ways. Firstly, the quest entitled "A little matter
about an orb" will provide you with adventurer tokens, as well as one of the
adventures in Trindmoor. And secondly, you can earn them through the Proving
Grounds contests. These are held every couple months, and work basically
like any other adventure, accept the number of times you are defeated is
calculated. Depending on the total number of times you are defeated during
the contest, you will get a certain number of adventurer tokens when it
ends. And as it happens, the Sryth gamemaster has decided to put all three
of the previous proving grounds contests up permanently for those who
haven't yet completed them. So your in luck. Your opportunities are many as
far as tokens go.

Have you tried the Evesdropping adventure in Talonis? You'll get another
location if you do. That's all I'll say.
> 5. I am wondering if there is an option for either joining up with other

Believe it or not, what you're getting at here is an upcoming feature. Very
very soon, probably within the next week, you will be able to join other
adventurers to take on Runeskin, a nearly immortal demon mage guy. That's
why those adventurer listings are popping up all of a sudden. They are
merely preparations for that feature.

Well, in the case of all skills and magical powers, your status in that
skill or power will change with every ten levels you give it. The levels are
all labeled the same, but have different effects depending on what you're
leveling up. In the case of weaponry, for instance, your melee rating will
increase by 1 every time your weaponry skill increases ten levels, but only
while you're holding a weapon. From there I could get into the weaponry
subskills, which will increase your melee depending on what type of weapon
you're using. Hacking, slashing, and bashing to name a few. All this
information can be read in the Sryth documentation, which can be found on
the Sryth home page. However, you are welcome to email me offlist if you
like, and ask any further questions you may have.

Hmm. May I inquire as to how you found out about this Yirrsin person? I had
never heard of him before, but I just tried typing it in, and it worked.
There was no activity at the house, but it's interesting that it worked

 Hi list,
It's AC. I am writing you to inquire about a few features in Sryth
 that
I have noticed for a while now.
Beware reading further if you don't want to know about a few sections
 in
Will I be able to
actually fight these conflicts some time in the future, or is that
 aspect
 of the
 adventure actually over.
 3. I am wondering how might a player go about earning/acquiring
adventure tokens besides referring a friend.
 4. I ran across an option to explore the area I believe I was in
 Central
Tysa around the cathedral. However, they want you to enter a specific
 location/address.
How do you go about doing this. I have ran across one person so far who
gave me a street name and how many houses down the block she was, but
 that's about
 it.
 5. I am wondering if there is an option for either joining up with
 other
players during the game or engaging in battle with them. I see an
 option
 for "see
other adventurers in this location", but after selecting it I just get
the name and ability for each of them.
What effect does this have on my character's
 ability?

I hope I am making sense. If not, don't feel bad. I tend to confuse
 myself at times. smile
 Thanks for any help.

No no, you first need to journey to Port Hallik. Frim there, visit the
nearby area known as Deadwater Shoals. Clicck the link entitled Adventures
for this Location. You need to be involved in that quest in order to
actually see Yirrsin. Hint. If you have diplomacyandor a thousand gold it'll
make things a lot easier.

If an area is listed as not yet playable it means just that, that it's
 not
yet playable. It doesn't have anything to do with subscriber status. It
 just
means those areas aren't yet online.
As for fleeing combat situations like the one in the cathedral in
 Talinus,
if you run away you can't go back unless you first quit the game
 without
 saving and then reload.
I don't remember a young guy in the Moonshore Crossroads unless you're
talking about the money lender, and there are a few ways you can
 finishthat
scenario, the least painful being to pay him the fifty gold.
As for the various skill levels, every ten levels you get a new one.
 1-10
is novice, 10-20 is Apprentice, 20-30 is Journeyman and so on. In the
 case
of Weaponry, every ten levels your Melee Rating increases by one point.
 The
same goes for subskills. If you're using a sword and you have the skill
 of
Weaponry, Slashing, then raising it ten levels will increase your MR.
 But
the EXP cost increases every four or five levels, so keep that in mind.

Well here's the thing. I'm not even sure if you can find these in retail
stores any longer. I got mine off eBay for around $20.00, brand new. Try
looking on Amazon and see if you can get one there. If not, they definitely
have them on eBay. I actually found some other cool stuff on eBay as well,
such as a brand new nemesis factor, and a groove it. Perhaps I'll do a
groove it review as well.

Hi mark the web address is:

 http://www.dentinmud.org/alter-1.0/

go down to the blind players link and enter on it.

Type new for new character and press enter
Type in your character name then a password
 Re enter the password.
It will ask you several questions with a y or n answer and one on
 whether
you want your character to be male or female.

It will then give you a choice of options I would press option 1
 for
 mud
 school.

As I said I got a lot of help from a friend.

Re: [Audyssey] sryth general questions

2007-02-09 Thread Bryan Peterson
You don't actually get it. It's an online game that can be found at
www.sryth.com
It costs only ten dollars a year to unlock the whole game, and the sheer
volume of content that becomes available to you is amazing. And if it asks
you who referred you, enter paladin as the username. That'd be my username
on there.

[Audyssey] tarn rats in sryth

2007-02-09 Thread Josh
Hi,

I can't get past the tarn-rats in sryth in the barn. How can or is there
some way I can heal myself so I can continue fighting them? I always loose
when I get to the swarm of six tarn-rats.

Josh,
Before you enter the barn there is an area marked safe. Save your game
there and when you need to you can leave the barn and rest there. Hope this
helps.
