Re: [Audyssey] Psp project in the works.
Hi I have an even better idea for this. Instead of emailing, phone them! That way you'll actually get a human voice, hopefully. Maybe sony would be willing to help make the users manual more accessible. Or maybe they can explain it to you and in tern make it easier for you to explain to us. etc. I love namcos games; maybe I'll give them a call. You never know. Some smaller companies such as namco and former working designs (its sad they left) might be able to help- note I say probably- but not very likely. But yeah, just for giggles and laughs and all that, give sony or nintendo a call. See what they say in terms of accessibility. If nothing, ask if they can explain the menu to you. See if they can't help you with some of the options. Etc. Have a good day from Tyler C. Re: [Audyssey] Psp project in the works.
Hi jeh and all. Unfortunately I have to agree with Tyler here. While this is a good idea in theory, it is never going to happen for a number of reasons, the main one being that these huge conglomerates that make these games and systems have loads and loads of money to hire high priced lawyers to pretty much get whatever court decision they want or lobby enough congressmen to get whatever bill they want killed. Like it or not congress is a creature of money and any one of us who does not have a couple of mill to spare and thinks we have equal representation in congress or very much representation at all had better think again. Also, as Thomas has pointed out correctly I think, it is not for the most part that these guys are these awful people who are out to screw us, they just have no idea that blind people even play games or even if we can convince them that they do they would not even know where to start to make the games playable. There are many different ideas of what we might call a playable game and I suspect that a game that somebody else might be able to play and call playable I would not be able to do at all for example. I am afraid that for the foreseeable future if we want to play mainstream games we are just going to have to do what several of us are doing on here already and that is just to figure out which ones are doable and learn them the best that we can and play them the best that we can, knowing that we are probably never going to play as well as our sighted friends. I may drop Sony an email about providing at least basic accessibility to the psp just for giggles just to see what kind of a response I get. I am expecting absolutely nothing substantive of course this would be more for fun and maybe just maybe to help educate somebody than anything else. If I do this and if I get any response besides an automatic email I will let you guys know. That's not going to happen. It never will. The thing is, now days, its all about money. EA sports, for example, will never get shut down. Reason? They have billions and billions of dollars behind them. I'm stil really mad about EA not supporting sega since the saturn. That's mainly why the dreamcast failed. I wish I could review it, but I can't find mine and I also wouldn't do the system justice because I don't know how leom does his. Have a good day from Tyler C. Hi claudio. S3 is not a self-voicing game, you need to read the screen directly, you need to read the screen, I believe in Jaws you do this with the jaws curser, but I'm not sure how that works. In Hal I use the virtual focus which works very well. Beware the Grue! Re: [Audyssey] baseball score file
Hi Claudio, I do not think that the log file that is created by my baseball game would really help you to learn the game. I will put one of Josh's below though. May I ask, have you read the BaseballRules.txt file that Phil sent to the list and I put in with the game? If you have specific questions about my game, I would be happy to answer them. Re: [Audyssey] Simulation game
Hi ron. that's sounding quite a lot like Jim kitchin's trucker game I think, where you drive a truck and have to deliver goods. see http://www.kitchensinc.net/ . there's also the origan trail which is similar I bleieve though I'll have to wait for lewie to port that one across to windows so that I can try it, sinse the original was doss and I never got to play it. for something similar there's the mississippi game from Mardy productions which involves both trading and managing Wagons and their goods in the wild west. see http://www.mar-dy.com/ my personal absolute favourite games of that type though are Smugglers 3, and possibly smugglers 2, from Nielsbaur, in which you fly a spaceship, trade, complete missions, attack other spacecraft and lots of stuff. Okay, it's not quite simulation, but it does involve managing trading and other factors where things can go wrong, and having an enemy battlecruzer turn up to spoil your day is pretty wrong! For Smugglers 3 see http://www.nielsbauergames.com/index.html I'd deffinately recommend that one though it's not quite what you mentioned in your post. Beware the Grue! [Audyssey] Simulation game
Hello This is Ron. Was wondering if there could be a game where you deliver airmail or drive a train and deliver goods? The object would be something like you bought a house and you would have to pay it off, but along the way things could go wrong. Such a derailment, or bad weather or injuries to others, like real life. Just wondering. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] You can make changes or update your subscription via the web, at http://audyssey.org/mailman/listinfo/gamers_audyssey.org.
