[Audyssey] Anyone playing Blue Lacuna?

2009-02-08 Thread Orin

Hi all,

Well, I've just found this new interactive fiction, that gives a whole
meaning to interactive fiction in my personal opinion. With dynamic
descriptions, a Puzzle and a story mode, apparently there's over 20
hours of gameplay and lots of replay value. I love the keywords
system, for once I actually got somewhere in if.

Though. For those people who have managed to play. What do I do to
advance the story in chapter 2? I found the law cabin with the box,
something's inside of it but shrug, I can't figure out what, nor can I
figure out if it's even needed, as in this game there's things that
you can do just for fun and not to advance the plot.

I think the carvings on the box have something to do with it but...
lord knows. The statue with it's eyes closed didn't give me anything
useful. That's really the only characters around, at this point in
time. Unless that statue is progue? In this game you really don't know
who people are until your character discovers them, at least that's
what it seems like, making it more exciting and challenging at the
same time.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about, go to http://www.lacunastory.com
 and check it out.

Re: [Audyssey] Any Kingdom of LoathingplayersonhereinterestedinHobopolis runs?

2009-02-08 Thread Yohandy
I think you really should. even if it means inviting random KoL players to
join. there's lots of awesome loot to be had in hobopolis, not to mention
that the clan paid 11 mill to get access to the dungeon and not using it
seems a total waste. Also no player class is really horrible at hobopolis.
each class has strengths and weaknesses. performing is an example that comes
to mind. You're way more successful if you have a player from each class
performing. Also I just checked out your profile, and I can clearly see why
you're dying. You're level 12. you should be at least 15 to adventure there.
I can't begin to imagine how you killed hodgman as a level 12. unless you
were a different class then.

Don't get me wrong, it wasn't all solo, they did help some, especially in
the zombo area since saucerers no matter how powerful tend to have trouble
with that one. Right now I'd be all but useless in hobopolis runs though,
I'm a level 12 accordian thief at the moment and accordian thief is just,
horrid. And yeah, you're willing to join up anytime you want, I'll let you
know when/if we open back up another hobopolis run, but odds are it won't
be till after I ascend into a more powerful and fun class.

Wow dude! a solo hobopolis? that's insane right there. Well if you want
me on there for a few runs let me know. two people is way better than a
solo hobopolis and is definitely easier. I'll have to see if they'll
whitelist me in my clan so that I can come in and out whenever you aren't
diving. I'm a level 33 sauceror with a full binder, so I don't really
have many problems.

I'm talerous in game. And actually I all but did the last run solo.
Everyone else was almost too weak to really be of help. I had to use a
lot of buff potions and the like. I have a few members, but most of them
don't play regularly sadly. Hobopolis is ok, but at the moment I'm more
interested in chekcing out the under water zones, whenever I can get the
motivation to finish my accordian thief.

Trust me hobopolis is the funnest thing in KoL so far. Have you
purchased the basement? you said you had a run so I'm guessing yes.
also what's your KoL name, and how many members are in your clan? are
they active? cause we'll need some cooperation from members to have a
successful run.

I have a clan called the Mr. Banana Heads. If you want contact me in
game and I'll add you to the clan. We don't currently have a hobolis
dungeon open, have run one but everyone kinda lost motivation after
that. So its up to you weather or not you want to join.

Subject line is self explanatory. I'm interested in doing some
hobopolis runs with a limited number of people. The clan I'm
currently in is huge and distributing loot and doing nickle runs etc
can become somewhat overwhelming. If any KoL players with small clans
have their own dungeon open or need some help with funding, let me
know. I was considering creating my own, but if someone already has
one then it won't be needed.

I'm not dying, I haven't tried as this class. I beat hob last time with a
level 25 or so saucerer. Accordian thief just isn't my style of class. I'm
sure I'll get through it eventually though and get back into hobopolis at
some point. And yeah, the loot is awesome, haha. Especially some of
hodgeman's gear. Once I get into a class I enjoy playing more I'll open up
another run and see if I can get my clan mates back into it.
