[Audyssey] archives from the past
Hi all. Firstly, I apologise about the quality of this as these were transfered with a digital recorder off a tape. In the early days I used to record people playing consoles and pc games, I have a few games on tape, that I will be sharing over the whiles. Firstly, is x men vs streetfighter. It was either recorded on the snes, nes or n64 I can't remember when I got this going maybe 1995 or 1994 or maybe 1993 or so. Its quite old, the first part starts with volume being really low and we put it up. It has a lot of ken in it as the main char. Combos are a plenty. Its not as good as the actual recordings but remember this is from the archives. It was probably recorded with the player close to the tv or console or something, I did not have the tech to do direct transfer yet, though I am sure I have more disks or tape of other recordings. link is below http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1407689/xmen%20vs%20sf.mp3 Its 42mb in size. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org. [Audyssey] Sunday's events at Out of Sight
Good morning folks! A Special note from Mama Dot's son: To all who knew Momma Dot , Six weeks ago my life changed forever, it's still very difficult to talk about. I just wanted to take a moment and let you all know how much my mother loved you all. Years ago when mom had her vision, we saw some incredible things on this earth during our many travels to Europe and Hawaii, now she is seeing beauty unimagineable. Her final days were spent with you all on this amazing site. Thank God for modern technology, it does bring people together. George Here are the events scheduled for Sunday, December 4th: >From the Pulpit 11:00 AM eastern Hosted by Lee Location: House of Our Lord Come listen to a live service, which will include, worship, music, preaching, and special singing. Zilch 4:00 PM eastern Hosted by Roger Location: Game Zone Roll the dice and take your chances! Try to snag as many points as possible but you better know when to quit otherwise, you'll lose it all and Zilch out! Re: [Audyssey] Mortal Kombat: beating tower challenge 300 the easyway.
Hey all. I don't know about the other person but I more or less need to figure out game play strategies such as they are. I know that unlike something like SSFIV or the Soul Calibur series MK is really more about aggressive gameplay than major strategizing but there still must be some things that one needs to learn besides which buttons do what. There are plenty of movelists on gamefaqs etc. to tell you about that. So for example, how does one go about outsmarting your opponent? Methinks another mainstream gaming seminar is in order. Just don't ask me to attend it in the next couple weeks my work schedule is going to be extremely hectic. Game on. Tom On Dec 4, 2011, at 10:24 AM, Yohandy wrote: > Uh... Re: [Audyssey] ammo in swamp
I was also thinking of Shift + R. Well I've had a few people asking when the next update will be posted so I should bring it up here. As many of you know I worked double shifts all last week and will be working double shifts each day this week as well. This has totally destroyed any chances of me working on code except on the weekends for right now. I've been working to fix the several reported bugs, but I'm still trying to figure out why some people are getting a bug with the panning sounds, zombies, and ambient noises. I believe all 3 are related, but so far I haven't spotted the problem. The other bug reports are all fixed as far as I know, so I'm really just waiting to solve this last one before I upload the update. > I'd actually prefer Shift + R. [Audyssey] modifying keys, was: Re: ammo in swamp
guys, don't forget you can now easily modify the key commands by editing your keyboard .ini file. so if you want to use r or shift r, or tab or whatever to unload ammo once the option is in there, no problem. if you haven't modified your keys yet, you might give it some thought, i've modified several things on mine, and as a result, i really think the controls are smoother and more efficient than the defaults, and no way would i go back to using the standard controls. it does take some getting used to after you make a change, but its worth the small amount of time. i reccomend you play single player after making a change to practice with any new config. just as an example, i use q and e to rotate 45 degrees left and right respectively, having to reach for the shift key on commands you use all the time is wasted motion, and can lead to critical input errors in the heat of battle. also, for those of us that type a lot, modifying the keys can help with hand and wrist fatique and all that. i can post my .ini file if anyone wants it, but its significantly different from Aprone's defaults and will take a good bit of getting used to. happy hunting, che On 12/4/2011 5:57 PM, Darren Duff wrote: Wow! Re: [Audyssey] Mortal Kombat: beating tower challenge 300 theeasyway.
Tom, That's actually rather hard to explain. Remember, you're fighting a human being, not a machine. And us humans aren't too predictable a lot of the time, especially if the person's a really good player. Lots of times it comes down to gut instinct and reaction time. It's not like fighting CPU where you're like ok they're weak to this attack, so I'll exploit it. many times experience plays a huge roll as well, and how many hours an individual is willing to sink into the game. A good example is when I fought some guy online with like 2500 wins, 200 losses. on ranked! guess how that match ended for me? and no I'm not exaggerating either. I had a sighted person here check that out. hahahaha - Original Message - From: "Tom Randall" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Sunday, December 04, 2011 4:00 PM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] Mortal Kombat: beating tower challenge 300 theeasyway. This will work best if you've lost 8-10 times since cpu gets a little less aggressive with blocking. Let me know if you guys need the combo. however it's a pretty simple exploit so you shouldn't have many problems. This is guaranteed to get you past challenge 300 in around 3 mins. enjoy, but whatever you do, never ever try it online! You'll get punished badly since that teleport is easily blockable. [Audyssey] Panning sounds Re: ammo in swamp
Hi Jeremy, my wild guess is the problem might not be a panning sound bug. I find that my mouse movement control isn't as smooth as the previous version. sometimes when zombies are towards one side and i try to turn, i am still facing the same direction. that might make players feel that is the panning problem. When that happens, usually moving back a few steps the mouse will work again. As for the ambient sounds keep playing after we leave that place, it happens when that area has many bees all around, many zombies foot steps and growling at the same time. 锦发/Steady Goh - Original Message - From: "Jeremy Kaldobsky" To: "Gamers Discussion list" Sent: Monday, December 05, 2011 7:37 AM Subject: Re: [Audyssey] ammo in swamp I was also thinking of Shift + R. Re: [Audyssey] Panning sounds Re: ammo in swamp
Hi. Personally, that's not how it's happening for me. If a zombie growls, and I realize by the growl that I need to take it out before it gets me, I will try to aim for the growl while it's still growling. Let's imagine it growls directly to my left. Now I turn left to face it. I might hear the footsteps come around to in front of me then go over to the right as the zombie notices me and begins to run toward me, but the growl sound, still playing the same sound having not stopped yet, continues to play from my left ear while the zombie about to start hitting me from my right side. Now when the growl sound comes to it's end and the zombie growls again, the growl will come from the right. This bug is happening a little less frequently than before, but it's not as consistant. Before it was just a couple of zombies that always did it, and it was those particular types. Now it seems any zombie can do it, but it doesn't happen all the time with those. Re: [Audyssey] ammo in swamp
I know a really great way to unload your ammo. I thought I'd point out the obvious because nobody else was ornery enough to apparently. step 1. Switch to the weapon that you want to unload. step 2. Find something very intelligent to shoot at like a car or a telephone, or even a big boring blank wall. step 3. aim at it and hold down the trigger until you run out of ammo. That's that, you're completely unloaded. Lol, I couldn't resist. Yes I agree, shift+r would be a good idea and I've actually had this happen to me before too, only with the minnygun on single player. > I agree with shift r. Don't stress about updates. yeah I have noticed it to, the sound doesn't properly track or if it does not fast enough. At 12:11 a.m. 5/12/2011 -0500, you wrote: Hi. Personally, that's not how it's happening for me. [Audyssey] Need Help with XAudio2
Hi everyone, I have posted this to the game developers list, but carbon copied this to the Audyssey list just in case someone here might be able to help. Please, answer off list, or over on the USA Games developers list. I was wondering if anyone on here could help me with XAudio2. I'm currently in the process of updating the G3D Engine to use XAudio2 by default instead of DirectSound and I'm afraid to say I'm having troubles making heads or tails of the Microsoft documentation as usual. Here is where I am so far, and where I need to go. Basically, my sound manager creates an XAudio2 device pointer in order to grab the default sound card. Then, I create a mastering voice which I believe does the actual mixing before passing it on to the audio device. I then create a WavFormatX structure to read wav data into memory and create a sound buffer. Finally, I create a source voice to play the sound buffer. Here is where I'm stuck. I see from the documentation I can use the SourceVoice->Start() function to play a sound and Sourcevoice->Stop() function to stop it. What I'd like to know is A, how do I loop a sound, B, how do I create a 2d stereo pan effect, and C, change the pitch/frequency on the current source voice? I'm assuming the documentation is present in the Microsoft docs, but buried somewhere not relatively obvious. Thanks. --- Gamers mailing list __ Gamers@audyssey.org If you want to leave the list, send E-mail to gamers-unsubscr...@audyssey.org.
