Re: [Audyssey] Locating/Creating logs

2013-08-05 Thread john
The client will only save logfiles if you do so manually. I recommend that,
when you close the client after quitting, when it asks you if you wish to
save the output file, that you use that as your log file; just choose where
to save it and you're all set.

Hi all,

I have been trying to locate the logs from the MUD’s, but my log
folder is empty. Where else would the logs be filed at? I have checked
the log path and it is set to C:\Program Files\VipMud\logs\. I have
gone through the options menu as well, and create logs from MUD output
is active. How would I go about retrieving or creating logs? Thanks.

Re: [Audyssey] looking for some advice and a reference:

2013-08-05 Thread john
Hmmm, could you send me some generic concepts of how you would design those
classes? I think I've got a pretty good idea of the concept of setting up
specific classes like that, but I'm not sure exactly how to go about
designing them, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks for getting me on
the developers list, I'm guessing I probably did something wrong on my end,
as my records don't even show a contact email saying I subscribed.

Hi John,

Its generally good practice to create a player class for the player
character. That way you can keep all your variables and player methods
stored in one location plus you can use that class for serialization
and deserialization etc when it comes to saving and restoring games.

However, in more complex games you may even find it useful to have
more than one class for your player character. For instance, in my
game Mysteries of the Ancients I actually have two different classes.
One is for Angela Carter, and the other is a special inventory class
that keeps track of her weapons, gold coins, scrolls, and other
inventory data. Its very modular, and I can add to or build upon those
classes and reuse them in other games.

P.S.

I'll subscribe you to the developers list. Not sure what the problem
is but I can add you manually from here.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] Locating/Creating logs

2013-08-05 Thread James Bartlett

hI there

In order to create a log. first you have to activete the output screen I
can't remember what the shortcut keys are for that. I think that it mite be
alt+ctrl+o. to turn on the output screen. once that is doneto you can go
from the input screen to the output screen ;by pressing ctrl+tab. once the
output window is activated when you quit the game it will prompt you to save
or not. once you save the output to the name you want, go to your mush-z
folder, go to the worlds folder, then go to the alter aeon folder, it will
be in there somewhere. You just have to look for it.
