the author seems to have dissapeared and the download link does not
work bar those that people put on dropbox I don't think there is much

The game was good, but I never got into it.

alisin you will need the following plugins or components of mush z
loaded in your world file.

capture mud output
omit blank lines
afk timer and mush reader.
in addition you may want to load audio.xml the com audio library and msp.
One thing I found with mush-z is that if you don't have nvda-control,
mushreader dll, audio dll and a couple other dlls in the mush root
things just don't run right.
The other thing you may want to do at times is get the latest mush
and extract the exe to the mush z root.
Its amazing how I have mush z but do not use mushclient at all though
both are used.

I have not used acear, is there a soundpack for it for mush z?

Apparently not. Of course, maybe since I always use Mush-Z to play
Alter Aeon, it's interfering with the process somehow? It doesn't
automatically read things like it does when i'm playing Alter; I have
to keep alt tabbing back and forth to get it to read the lines.

And then, I thought to the hells with it, and decided to use flash.
Well, that really didn't work, as it wouldn't even read that. I say,
argh! Any tips as to how to best start playing this game would be

2013-10-01 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Kelly,

I believe Fast Scrolling is what Dark and I were referring to as far
as automatic scrolling. I have it unchecked on my copy of Winfrotz and
it works pretty well.

Now, I can't help with getting NVDA to automatically read the screen
when the text changes, but I usually route the review cursor to the
bottom of the screen and use numpad-7 a few times to get to where the
new text starts and use numpad-9 to read the text. I guess it all
depends on how much work you want to put into reviewing the screen,
but I don't personally have any serious issues with Winfrotz and NVDA.

Cheers!

Hi James,

As I have been a full time Linux user for quite some time I not only
think it is a good idea I know it to be. Far too many developers write
games exclusively for Windows, and either we use Wine, install a
Windows virtual machine, or do without which are all pretty
unacceptable answers to the problem. Its for that reason once I have
the time I want to begin porting many games to a language and API
compatible with Linux and possibly even Mac OS X in order to give us
non-Windows users something to play besides muds and online games like
Sryth.

[Audyssey] building in the storm 8 games.

2013-10-01 Thread Ian McNamara
Hi, in the storm 8 games how is it best to start off the building. Is it best
to start with the best building you can afford with the money you have or is it
best to build a few of the smaller buildings to get as many buildings as
possible.

thanks very much.

Oh, that would be fantastic. With a tiny bit of tinkering, various versions of
Python will work on Mac in Terminal for some games, like SoundRTS. Anyway, I've
heard about Jim's games, and appreciate his sense of humor. I'd love to play
them.

Great little games to pass the time, but not so deep you will spend a
considerable amount of time playing them. That is why when I get the
time I'd like to convert a few of them to Python so those of us on
Linux and perhaps Mac OS can have something similar.

 Cheers!

Hi James,

Yeah, I knew that Drug Mule was about 30 years old. I believe he wrote
it before he went blind with graphics and stuff, and then later
rewrote it as an accessible Dos game.

Cheers!
