Re: [Audyssey] Att: Thomas Ward

2015-05-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hello Ishan,

Sorry to say Jim Kitchen is the only one who can do the babble and
thread reports. Nobody else has the software required to do it.

Cheers!

As we have already seen from our inboxes, it is not too late for Jim
Kitchen, which is a very good thing. He is recovering, which is also a good

Hello Dorothy,

Well, unfortunately I do not have Jim Kitchen's phone number or might
consider doing that. I do appreciate the info about him and am sorry
to hear about his health issues. I have not been in the best of health
myself, and have been a little less vocal on this list of late as
well.

Cheers!

Re: [Audyssey] programming lists or mailling lists for gamers

2015-05-08 Thread Thomas Ward
Hi Marvin,

Not sure if you would be interested but I happen to run a game
programming list on USA Games. Go to
http://www.usagamesinteractive.com/lists.php
and sign up for the developers mailing list. It is not a very active
list but it is for blind programmers with a special interest in
developing games. I have considered moving it to Audyssey, but for the
moment it is on the USA Games server where I started it.

Cheers!

Hey, Jim: As I work through my Emails for a few minutes before using your

For anyone who might ask, we have our speakers turned up so that the

[Audyssey] Stuck In Paladin of The Sky

2015-05-08 Thread Kelly Sapergia

Hi,

It's been awhile since I last played Paladin of the Sky. I'm currently on
the first floor of the Undisturbed Sanctuary, having completed the scenario
in the Organ Room on the third floor. Unfortunately, I can't remember how to
get out. I've run into an NPC who tells me that "this is a holy place", and
that I should leave. Fine, but can someone please tell me where to go?

Thanks.

tempted to phone Jim myself and ask how he's doing accept that I am not sure

Re: [Audyssey] Science Fiction games for the IPhone?

2015-05-08 Thread dark

Hi Lio.

I take it by scifi you mean games set in the future with spaceships, robots,
aliens etc? It's just there are several zombocalypse games, in both audio
and text which could arguably fall under the scifi banner in genre terms,
but I'm guessing that isn't what your looking for.

Just in the space and future tech category then, there are several I can
think of.

First off there is the nightjar from somethinelse. This is an audio
adventure game in first person view where you are trapped on a ship orbiting
around a blackhole. You are communicating with someone aboard a ship coming
to rescue you, played by the awsome benadict cumberbach, however your not
alone. Very creepy with great sounds and atmosphere and some awsome acting,
probably one of the few instances of space based alien style horror I can
think of in an audio game. There is a page on the audiogames.net database
(use the gameslist or search games links to reach it sinse the dropdown is
currently splirkified). You can hear a number of recordings of the game
there, and I'd definitely recommend as much sinse the game's amazing sound
is one of it's main attractions.

Then there is flarestar from audio.itt, the same people who make the
inquisitor games. This is a maze game set aboard a space liner where you
walk around, shoot enemies and complete missions, even going as far as
entering the holodeck like on startrek or piloting a fighter. I have heard
people state the maze gameplay is somewhat frustrating, but I've not played
the thing myself yet so can't confirm, see the audiogames.net database page
for more information.

Then there is star traders elite (or it's free version star taders rpg).

This is a mostly text based game (though it does have soe sounds), where
you fly around in a ship, and can do piracy, explore planets, fight in wars
between various factions etc.

It has a page on audiogames.net, and there is a getting started guide in the
articles room of the auiogames.net forum written by me sinse the thing has
quite the learning curve, once one final access addition is made to the game
I will reccord a podcast on it to help new players.

then, there are several interactive story games from choiceofgames and
hosted games which fall under the scifi category. Coice of the star captain
for instance is about you being a captain of a small spaceship with a very
snarky and irritating computer ai, doing things like working for the
military in a time when humanity is at war with an alien race.
Mecha ace involves you playing a pilot of a huge robotic mech, fighting in a
war where several colonies are trying to gain independence. That one is
particularly cool, especially the combat and choosing weapons for your mech
and some of the awsomey described battles you have.

there is also choice of robots released just at christmas, which has you
building your own robot and marketing them in the near future. That one has
lots of choice, you can make military robots for a war, can make work
robots, or artistic companions for humanity, though I am afraid when i
played the game I called my character Albert Wily and went about achieving
world domination with my evil robot army! :D.

There are then many others. Mobile armored marine for example is one of the
hosted games about space marines, while treasure seakers of lady luck lets
you play thee captain of a ban of space pirates garr! Indeed just among the
choiceofgames and hosted games titles, there is a lot of choice.

Hth.

As I said for most of these you can look them up on audiogames.net (though
choiceofgames just has the one entry sinse it seeme weerd to write entries
for every gamebook individually).
