Re: [Audyssey] Blindfold Bowling finally out!

2015-10-14 Thread Charles Rivard
When writing an app review to post on an Email list or site, how do you get
the link to the app in the app store?

I use Windows XP and JAWS 15. The way that I find apps is through the
latest version of iTunes, doing a search. When I get to the review of the
app, what do I do from there? Thanks.

Hi all

Well this is a day I have been waiting for a long time. The day when an
accessible bowling game comes to the iOS platform. That day has finally
arrived thanks to a new game from Kid Friendly Software, Blindfold
Bowling! There should be no introduction to the app, so go ahead and read
the entry over at

www.applevis.com
then if you like the sound of it, get it free from the app store. Search
for "blindfold bowling" or "kid friendly software". Enjoy!

Re: [Audyssey] Blindfold Bowling finally out!

2015-10-14 Thread dark

Hi Charlse.

To be honest I do the same, and so long as you mention the name of the ap
and the developer searching the ap store should be fine. The reason that
audiogames.net doesn't include ap store links on the database the way there
are download links to pc games, is that ap store links are country specific.

I have had it happen i click on the Us ap store link and am told to "search
the Uk ap store" which makes them a bit pointless to pass around on major
international sites and mailing lists and between people of different
countries. Sinse audiogames.net is intended to be for everybody around the
world it makes sense just to give correct search and developer info and then
let everyone find it in their native ap stores, (assuming it's available
there).

So personally I'd suggest anyone looking for an ap just make sure you have
the right name and developer info and do a search, though of course that
does make it %100 necessary to mention not just the ap name, but what the
developers are called in the ap store itself.

All the best,

dark.

Good thoughts. A problem for doing a review for

www.applevis.com

is that an app store link is one of the requirements, and your review won't
be posted unless something is in that data field.

[Audyssey] A blind legend.

2015-10-14 Thread loriduncan
Hi guys, I'm having problems fighting in the game A Blind Legend. When I'm
swiping to aim my sword, I hear the merceneries on my right, but when I
swipe right I'm unable to hit them and only end up being hit instead and
eventually end up dying. I'm really loving this game and am totally
captivated by the story, pluss I want to slit that king's throat from ear to
ear lol. I have no trouble killing the cave monsters with my sword, it's
just the bandets I met on the road which I can't seem to hit. I usually
strike after I hear them shout something, or when I hear their grunt as they
take a swing at me, but I still can't seem to find the right balance.
Hopefully someone could give me some tips. Also when I died the game told
me I have 4 lives left, but then I got a message saying next life in 20
minutes? Thanks from Lori.

Hi Dark,
I just downloaded the Blindfold bowling and find it lots of fun to play.
I just wished Draconis had done it first.
As to an app link, I found if you replace the /us/ in the following link
with /uk/ for United Kingdom, it would be the correct link for your country.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/looktel-voiceover-tutorial/id598788231?mt=8

like this:
https://itunes.apple.com/uk/app/looktel-voiceover-tutorial/id598788231?mt=8

or /ca for Canada:

Hi. You earn lives back at a rate of one per twenty minutes.
As for the sword, have you tried using your shield to protect
yourself, to get an idea of when to swing? You can also use it to bash
opponents' weapons aside, letting you get a couple hits in. Not every
enemy will let you hit them as they shout or strike.

2015-10-14 Thread dark

Hi Phil.

I really want to try several of the blindfold games, partly for the db, but
partly for myself as well, the frogger type game they had sounded awesome
and I always love trick style cardgames like hearts and spades.

Then again I freely admit keeping my mind on anything right now is pretty
impossible, hence the lack of updates.
Should matters change (I won't say improve sinse nothing is wrong, indeed
nothing in my life has been more right), I'll certainly give them a go.

Hi Dark,
I just downloaded the Blindfold bowling and find it lots of fun to play.
I just wished Draconis had done it first.
As to an app link, I found if you replace the /us/ in the following link
with /uk/ for United Kingdom, it would be the correct link for your
country.

Hi Charlse.

To be honest I do the same, and so long as you mention the name of the ap
and the developer searching the ap store should be fine. The reason that
audiogames.net doesn't include ap store links on the database the way
there are download links to pc games, is that ap store links are country
specific.

I have had it happen i click on the Us ap store link and am told to
"search the Uk ap store" which makes them a bit pointless to pass around
on major international sites and mailing lists and between people of
different countries. Sinse audiogames.net is intended to be for everybody
around the world it makes sense just to give correct search and developer
info and then let everyone find it in their native ap stores, (assuming
it's available there).

So personally I'd suggest anyone looking for an ap just make sure you
have the right name and developer info and do a search, though of course
that does make it %100 necessary to mention not just the ap name, but
what the developers are called in the ap store itself.

All the best,

Don't know if it has replay value, but it's not over in twenty
minutes. I finished Nightjar in about an hour, the oringinal Papa
Sangre in maybe two and a half. I'm still not done with this one, and
it's been several. Now, once I'm done, I may never play it again, but
it's worth playing, at least once.

Re: [Audyssey] Blindfold Bowling finally out!

2015-10-14 Thread dark
Yep, indeed the issue I mentioned where I ran into the wrong ap store was
following a link on applevis, which is exactly why we don't bother on
audiogames.net with the database entries.

I'll also add that in the ap store sinse you can always use the "related"
link and then "see all" to see all games of a specific dev, it's fairly easy
to find a game from someone you've already bought a game from. This is how I
find the choiceofgames and hosted games titles.

Good thoughts. A problem for doing a review for

www.applevis.com

is that an app store link is one of the requirements, and your review
won't be posted unless something is in that data field.

[Audyssey] splendid news for any game developers

2015-10-14 Thread Michael Feir
Hello everyone. I have long been seeking an accessible copy of Jesse
Schell's book The Art of Game Design; A book of Lenses. A friend found
me a very questionable copy which wasn't indexed at all so I had to
read it sequentially. Despite this drawback, I still found the first
edition of this book to be the best book on game design and creation
that I've ever come across. I've got quite a large library of such
books now but if I had to pick one book, The Art of Game Design would
be it. Jesse does a great job of introducing concepts in layman's
terms and then building your understanding up to a decent level very
smoothly and quickly.

The version available on Kindle is sadly inaccessible at present.
However, you can get a fully accessible one for Windows, Androiad, Mac
and iOS from:
www.crcpress.com

The ebook is a text book and is priced accordingly. There's a sale on
now but it still ran me over $50. In my humble opinion, it's worth
every penny. the Vital Source bookshelf software is what you'll need
to read a purchased book from CRC Press. You can download them for
offline reading quite easily. The iOS app and Windows software are
both designed to be accessible with screen-readers. I found the book a
pleasure to navigate through and read so far. I'm just starting to
feel my way around the iPHONE app. On the PC, it lets your
screen-reader and therefore your preferred voice do the reading.
Voiceover does a good job on iOS too.

Doubtless, there are more books of interest on CRC Press and likely
other places which use the Vital Source bookshelf too. Having a book
like this really elevates one's thinking about games. I hope that some
of you would-be developers will have a lok at it for yourselves. --

Re: [Audyssey] A blind legend.

2015-10-14 Thread loriduncan
Hi not sure how large the actual game is, but when you start it up for the
first time it takes a few minutes to download the game's audio files. It'll
last for much longer than 20 minutes and is very emersive.

Hi,

Was just wondering how large this game is. I mean is it 1 of tthese games
that is over in 20 minutes? What's its replay value?

Hi. You earn lives back at a rate of one per twenty minutes.
As for the sword, have you tried using your shield to protect
yourself, to get an idea of when to swing? You can also use it to bash
opponents' weapons aside, letting you get a couple hits in. Not every
enemy will let you hit them as they shout or strike.

just the bandets I met on the road which I can't seem to hit. I usually

Hopefully someone could give me some tips. Also when I died the game told

minutes? Thanks from Lori.

Re: [Audyssey] time to go on strike

2015-10-14 Thread chris

Hi

And I was one of those who suggested this, in a somewhat demanding
manner as I explained there was just nothing for us bowling fans or
addicts for iOS yet there was an accessible bowling game for the PC. Or
I should say is not was. But obviously the iOS game will have more
widespread coverage than the PC game despite it once being a classic
from both Draconis Entertainment and PCS games. I even had a key of my
own for it, but have lost it recently. But I don't care now there is an
accessible bowling game for iOS which is free with in-app purchases or
ways to earn so called coins by watching a nondestructive video or score
a certain number of strikes in certain game modes. So hats off to Kid
Friendly Software and please keep up the good work. Happy bowling!

No, it's not what you think. I'm not protesting wages, working conditions or
anything like that.

Blindfold Bowling is a fully accessible audio game that's similar to ten pin
bowling. In Blindfold Bowling, you can play by yourself, against a variety
of computer opponents, or side-by-side with another person. You throw the
bowling ball by either flicking with one finger, or aiming with one finger and
flicking, or setting the exact angle with your thumb and forefinger, and then
flick. The faster you flick, the faster you throw the ball. You hear the ball
rolling down the alley, and hitting pins. Like real bowling, you can get a
strike, or a spare, or even miss completely with a gutter ball. And you can
post your high scores to Facebook or Twitter.Blindfold Bowling was suggested by
several blind gamers who enjoyed Blindfold Pong and Blindfold Spades. The
game includes several in-app upgrades, including a starter pack for unlimited
play, an ability to customize your ball and the pins to make the game harder,
to let you pick and customize your competitors, and side-by-side mode.

The game, as are all games from Kid Friendly Software is totally Voice-Over
friendly. It is also loads, or should I say, lanes, of fun. So, go to the app
store and get this great game for your iDevice, and then keep both your mind
and your ball out of the gutter as you go on strike in your spare time.

Re: [Audyssey] Blindfold Bowling finally out!

2015-10-14 Thread Charles Rivard
No, but go ahead and give the game a try and form your own opinion. It's a
free game, so you won't lose anything by trying it for yourself.

Hi, are there audio demos of any of these blind fold games? I'd like to
hear one of the bowling, and applevis doesn't seem to have one yet.

Hi Phil.

I really want to try several of the blindfold games, partly for the db,
but

partly for myself as well, the frogger type game they had sounded awesome
and I always love trick style cardgames like hearts and spades.

Then again I freely admit keeping my mind on anything right now is pretty
impossible, hence the lack of updates.
Should matters change (I won't say improve sinse nothing is wrong, indeed
nothing in my life has been more right), I'll certainly give them a go.

All the best,

DArk.

Hi Dark,
I just downloaded the Blindfold bowling and find it lots of fun to play.
I just wished Draconis had done it first.
As to an app link, I found if you replace the /us/ in the following link
with /uk/ for United Kingdom, it would be the correct link for your
country.

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/looktel-voiceover-tutorial/id598788231?mt=8

like this:
https://itunes.apple.com/uk/app/looktel-voiceover-tutorial/id598788231?mt=8

or /ca for Canada:

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/app/looktel-voiceover-tutorial/id598788231?mt=8

Hi Charlse.

To be honest I do the same, and so long as you mention the name of the
ap and the developer searching the ap store should be fine. The reason
that audiogames.net doesn't include ap store links on the database the
way there are download links to pc games, is that ap store links are
country specific.

I have had it happen i click on the Us ap store link and am told to
"search the Uk ap store" which makes them a bit pointless to pass around
on major international sites and mailing lists and between people of
different countries. Sinse audiogames.net is intended to be for
everybody around the world it makes sense just to give correct search
and developer info and then let everyone find it in their native ap
stores, (assuming it's available there).

So personally I'd suggest anyone looking for an ap just make sure you
have the right name and developer info and do a search, though of course
that does make it %100 necessary to mention not just the ap name, but
what the developers are called in the ap store itself.

All the best,

dark.

When writing an app review to post on an Email list or site, how do you
get the link to the app in the app store?

I use Windows XP and JAWS 15. The way that I find apps is through the
latest version of iTunes, doing a search. When I get to the review of
the app, what do I do from there? Thanks.

Hi all

Well this is a day I have been waiting for a long time. The day when
an accessible bowling game comes to the iOS platform. That day has
finally arrived thanks to a new game from Kid Friendly Software,
Blindfold Bowling! There should be no introduction to the app, so go
ahead and read the entry over at

www.applevis.com
then if you like the sound of it, get it free from the app store.
Search for "blindfold bowling" or "kid friendly software". Enjoy!
