Hi Tom.
The only problem with taking ideas of free and open source projects too far
is the business of components, sinse while a lot can be done for free,
certain programs, games included often require the programmer to
perchice libraries, sound effects packs music and the like in order to make
them viable, and in that case it does indeed seem rather unfair that the
developer has to fund all of that themselves.

Oncemore, it comes down to everybody being reasonable, sinse if the
developer charges a reasonable price, most people who want the software will
probably buy it and thus support the project and it's future developement.

Beware the grue!

Dark.

Hi,

I play Aardwolf, Alter Aeon and 4 Dimensions.

I never saw a post about 4 dimensions here, so I'll describe it briefly.
4 dimensions has 4 time periods. Prehistoric with dinosaurs, stoneage,
ancient gods and things like that. Then there is the typical medieval
fantasy zone. The third is the old west period with cowboys and stuff and
the last is the futuristic zone with spaceships, aliens and androids.

The mud has a very good introduction for newbies, especially great tips
for solving quest, which are quite good in this game.

The mud only has a very small player base unfortunately. But I like it for
it's divercity in zones. It's great to do something in medieval times and
then make a trip to mars or something. And you also can do things like
crafting, for example managing your own farmlands and trading with things
you grew there. There are other such professions as well.

Maybe some of you want to try it, it's really good and there are also
rewards for roleplayers in place.

You can get more info when searching for 4 dimensions on mudconnect.com or
just go to the games homepage www.4dimensions.org.

If someone tries the game and wants some help or just someone to chat with
in game just post here or look for Adreana in game.

Best regards
Sarah

Hi.
Did you try monkey term with MTScripts? That might work if nothing else
does.

I was wondering why the NPC I killed last night came back to life on me!
Guess I know why now! It means I have a duplicate of what he was wearing,
but maybe I can sell it somewhere, though I haven't figured out just where
yet. I'm a level five mage, and I just started playing last night.

On an unrelated note, is it possible to have more than one class, or are
you limited to the class you choose when you first create your character?

I'm not sure why the items vanished, though I have occasionally seen npcs

though usually you have to wait around a fair amount of time for that to
happen and it certainly doesn't during boss fights.

As for resetting your character, certainly not! Even if you did miss an
item, just wait for a bit and he'll respawn (repop as it's called in the
game), so that you can kill him again and get the stuff.

I'm just rediscovering the joys of alteraeon myself, so if you want a

then again what Kevin said is true, the newbie and gossip channels are

Subject: [Audyssey] Alter Aeon and Disappearing Items

Hi,

I'm trying to complete a quest in Alter Aeon. I found and killed the
required enemy, and was told there were some items I could loot,
including a key. Unfortunately, I was also under attack from a zombie or
something. Basically, once everyone was defeated, I tried to get the key
from the main enemy, and was told it wasn't there. Sure enough, the
items that had been there were gone, and I'm pretty sure that key was
needed to unlock a chest I found later. If that's the case, I'm stuck.
Is there any way I can recover the key, or do I have to reset my
character and try again?

Thanks.

Yours Sincerely,

Just had to change the subject line because that constantly made error drives
me nuts.  The P is the only upper case letter in the name of this device.  It
is an iPhone!  You can easily know you made some sort of mistake when using a
screen reader to proofread the device name.

[Audyssey] rs client/hope program

2012-07-14 Thread Jennifer Jarvis
Hi, I been trying to get some answers. For one, I have a friend who is unable
to get the RS client to come up at all, I have the same problem with the hope
program, I don't know how many know what the hope program is, but it's the
accessible version of pandora. I was asking since my friend cannot get rs
client up and I am unable to get hope up at all what we could try. It doesn't
give any errors or anything saying we might be missing something, it just or
both just won't come up at all, we have the framework installed and java
activated, so if anyone could give any ideas why these programs are acting as
they are and how to fix them that would be great, thanks

A Portkey is an object which has been enchanted to transport anyone who
picks it up to a set destination at a set time. Any object can be made
 into
a Portkey, and they're usually things that nonmagical people like us
 would
overlook, so we didn't go picking them up and playing with them. A
 Portkey
could be something as simple as an old tin can, stuff we would just
 think
 was litter.

game is really fun. I got number 3 wrong. It was Reemis Lupin. I guessed

I got number 7 wrong it was supposed to be Bellatrix Lestrange. I guessed
Amelia Bones. I have not read the books for awhile. This was another tuff

Re: [Audyssey] work and games

2009-10-12 Thread Jennifer Claudio
Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knows of a free accessible game that specifically
is geared to children who are blind and/ or visually impaired who are
learning how to type. Currently I have my students using Talking Typer but
I would really like to get them a game that reinforces their typing skills.
A game that would be suitable for students who are in grammar school to high
school. If you have any suggestions I would really appreciate it.
Thank you!

Hi Jim,
Smile. Yeah, despie all of the issues, complications, etc involved the
number one reason Icontinue writing games, press forward, is because I
jenuinely enjoy programming the games. I like figuring out the code how
to do this or that, solving bugs, figuring out different ways to
approach the problem, etc. Like anything else it has its own rewards
provided you can get passed end user complaints, copyright issues, whatever.

and other virtual worlds for years, thuss my willingness to test and give
feedback when I can.

just in case the linke on audiogames.net isn't working, you can find
mudsplat on

Have fun with it, though personally I found it much too easy, a shame
sinse the sounds and music are very nice.

I know it's supposed to be a game for kids, but stil, i think the
difficulty could've been cranked up a bit, or that the game could've have
a difficulty setting.

 Hi to Will,
Perhaps you could join the classroom yourself and learn a bit of english
grammar.

Perhaps once you graduated you would know what a run on sentence is.
Perhaps after that, you could move over to the manners and etiquette
classroom and pick up a few pointers.
Perhaps after that, you could go out and contribute something to the
community instead of standing back and taking cheap shots at someone that
is doing work benefitting others without a dime to show for it.
Perhaps if people patted the backs of those that donate their time to
help others out, instead of jumping on them for insignificant mistakes,
this would be a better world.

 Perhaps...

Subject: [Audyssey] Thoughts about new text adventures.

Hi everyone,
Over the last few months I have really been getting into interactive
fiction games, and really enjoy the old text adventures. As a result that
has me thinking of some possible game projects after Mysteries of the
Ancients and Raceway are released.
One idea I have been thinking of is producing a handful of USA Games text
adventures for Mac, Windows, and Linux that is similar to classic if
titles. With web based games like Sryth around I have discovered the
classic DND text adventure style game still can be quite addictive given
enough adventures and puzzles in it. What do you all think of this idea?

Cheers!

The problem with them Milos, is that even if you could find them, they
don't work on Windows XP. I have KM 2000, but I can't get it to work on
XP, so I can't play it!

Did code factory go under or something? Or are they just not making games
anymore?

Thanks,

Yes Bryan, time adventures works also on Vista.
But as code factory don't sells it any more and the game is on cd, you
don't have any chance to get it.

Maybe a member on this list is willing to sell it to you milos...
Regards,
Claudio.

Hi Jen,
Code Factory is still around. They just are not making any audio games any
more. These days they are primarily focused on making accesible software
for cell phones like Mobile Speak and so on.
