Re: [Audyssey] Best MOTA games yet...

2009-10-20 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Bryan,
I'll have to look up the exact setting in Vista to let you record from
your soundcard, but it isn't present on every Vista system from what
I've seen. A lot depends on what sound card you have, if you have
updated Vista drivers, etc. On one of my computers here the option is
grayed out in the Vista mixer settings like it is unavailable so it
seams to be a hit or miss thing. Like I said earlier I'll try and write
up a faq or tutorial this week with my experiences recording under Vista.

Bryan Peterson wrote:
How did you record that out of curiosity? I'm having some trouble with

can't seem to get Gold Wave to record in Stereo despite having it set
to record that way. I think it has to do with a setting in Vista but
I'm not sure. I haven't been able to figure out how to record directly
from the sound card.

Hi Charles,
Your in luck. It is up. See the public list announcement on where to get
the MOTA beta 9 preview file.
As for recording I just recorded it using latest Goldwave. I think that
is 5.55 or something like that. Hardware is nothing special. I think
this desktop only has a l-cheapo Soundmax AC-97 card in it. Not the best
card in the world, but functional for a home office computer.

Hi Bryan,
Yeah, Kerberos is not easy to take down in hand to hand combat when he is
fresh, but if you soften him up a bit with a sword or something else he
isn't too bad. In my audio preview I just uploaded I softened him up with
a sword, and then came in fists and feet blazing and finished him off
personally in hand to hand. He didn't put up too much of a fight at that
point. I think he was too busy wondering who in hell this amazon was who
sliced him up with a sword, and then beat the crap out of him with kicks
and punches for good measure. Lol!

Hi Darren,
Understandable. Although, the later betas like beta 7, beta 8, etc are
pretty stable as is. Only a few miner bugs here and there. So far beta 9
is shaping up to be a great release. I just recorded myself playing beta
9, and am uploading the preview of level 1 as we speak. So if you don't
want to try the beta you might want to listen to me litterally kicking
some enemy butt with the new hand to hand combat feature as well as some
use of standard weapons too.

available I'd have been in decent shape to take on the next level. And as an
added bonus I've beaten the level three times on Intermediate, even managing to
kill Kerberos the last time. I think I'm definitely ready to record my own MOTA
review. Of course if I did it now it wouldn't be in stereo since I'm still
having trouble with that.

Well, I've managed to beat MOTA on the easy difficulty without taking a
single hit from Kerberos. Of course I did sort of station myself right at
the room's entrance so I could back away after hitting him a few times and
waiting till my strength returned. But I managed to hold on to all but a
few rounds from most of my guns and I had three potionns to spare. So if
the full game had been available I'd have been in decent shape to take on
the next level. And as an added bonus I've beaten the level three times on
Intermediate, even managing to kill Kerberos the last time. I think I'm
definitely ready to record my own MOTA review. Of course if I did it now
it wouldn't be in stereo since I'm still having trouble with that.
Homer: Hey, uh, could you go across the street and get me a slice of
pizza?

Vender: No pizza. Only Khlav Kalash.
