[Audyssey] Got an offer for any game developer.

2012-05-20 Thread michael barnes

Hello, Game developers.
I have an offer that I hope someone willing to take!
The offer is if someone would create a game for me I would be willing
to pay for the person creating the game that I would love to see get created.
It is an accessible version of an Atari 2600 game that I would love to
play again.
If anyone is interrested in taking this offer please email me off list
so we may talk about the game and the payment.

I also believe that other people would be happy to play the game aswell!

2012-05-20 Thread Philip Bennefall

Hello Michael,

I am always interested in freelance work. What type of game is it, what is
the timeframe in which you would like it created, and what is your budget?
Please describe the project in as detailed a fashion as you can, and also
give me at least rough estimations on the points above. I'll be happy to
evaluate and potentially take on the project.

Kind regards,

Philip Bennefall

Re: [Audyssey] Got an offer for any game developer.

2012-05-21 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Michael,

Well, could you please let me know which Atari game you are interested
in. This does sound like something I'd be interested in doing depending
on which Atari game you are talking about. I'm something of a fan of the
Atari myself so certainly would be interested in working on a free lance
project like this.

As you may or may not know I grew up playing the Atari 2600, and am
personally familiar with most if not all the games ever developed for
the console. So as a result I may be one of the few developers who has
first-hand knowledge of how to develop this game, and make it as close
to the original as possible. So I'm curious to know which Atari game you
are interested in, and of how much money you propose to put forward for
development expenses etc. Plus it would be helpful for you to specify a
time frame/schedule for the project so I can work around my own personal
schedule to meet your stipulations etc.

Cheers!

Well, the game that I would like to see is the E.T. game.
I am willing to pay up to one hundred dollars, and the time limit is
about three to six months.

I would like the game to have music from the Atari and have the sounds effects.

Re: [Audyssey] Got an offer for any game developer.

2012-05-21 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Michael,

HI'll have to think about that. Although, I do vaguely remember
the E.T. game it wasn't one of my favorites for a number of reasons.

First, I have always thought Atari just wrote that game to attempt to
cash in the box office success of the movie, and the game itself was
something of a major disappointment.

It was basically the same level being played over and over again with
E.T. picking up pieces of candy and locating pieces of his intersteller
phone to call his rescue ship. In short, the game play in the original
Atari version was a bit boring, and I'd feel strongly tempted to design
a more entertaining game if possible.

So I guess my willingness here would largely depend on how flexable you
were with the original game play. If you want an exact copy of the
original I doubt I would be interested because I just never personally
liked that game much. However, if you are thinking of a new arcade game
using the E.T. storyline I might be interested. Let me know what you
think about this.

Cheers!

Hey, Thomas.
I like your idea on the game!
Sure that would be fine as long as it had the same plot as the movie
and have sounds and music.
That is why I said in my post that the game could have a mixture of
levels to make the game more funner and entertaining.

Hi Michael,

right. That's perfectly understandable. As a child of the 80's E.T.
wouldn't be E.T. without the sounds and music. However, to do it right
I'd also have to look around for a copy of the movie as I have not
actually watched it in like 20 years. I believe my son has a copy in his
bedroom, and I'll have to ask my wife if she can find it.

Cheers!

Hi Yohandy,

Yeah, I sure do. E.T. has a rather well known reputation of being a huge
flop. As someone who owned that game in the 80's I can see why. Lol!
