Hello thomas, i remember some of your lonewolf mission, Midway and
jamatomusashi ones, have you created some more LW missions? Seems that
oyu are quite interested in world war two and cold war, so your missions

By the way - what has happened with David Greenwood and GMA games? There

Thanks Casey, that's an incredibly kind offer.

Perhaps something that plays a bit more like a cross betwene the first
mission and a tutorial, with ships of various speeds passing at
various points, and some handy messages popping up during the mission
to give hints as to where would be a good targiting angle and placement.

My problem is working out where I should put my sub to shoot a moving
ship once I know it's course, sinse this seems to change hugely with
the course and speed of the targit, so some hints and practice in this
would be great.

You could even give it some atmosphere and plot by having it be your
qualification course for becoming a sub captain, or something similar.

Btw, what happens about mission numbers? I have all the 75 missions
from gma games, bringing my total up to 92, but I'd imagine people
have created more, probably taking the total over the 99 mark.
What happens then?

Oh, and where are these extra missions? If david is not hosting them
at Gma, might they be hosted elsewhere? The same goes for this tutorial
mission if your kind enough to create it casey, sinse it should
deffinately be available to everyone I think.

Re: [Audyssey] Lone wolf sound pack.

2008-11-24 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Willem,
Yeah, that is always a great tactic. Usually, I like to hit them when
the destroyers have to slow down to turn. Usually they will drop to 1 or
2 naughts and then they are easy prey for my torps.
Another tactic I love is move at full speed through say the mine field
and have the destroyer follow you into the mine field. Here I am busting
18 naughts through the mine field and the destroyers skipper is a real
wimp. He takes the mine field at 1 naught. All you have to do is aim
your torpedoes correctly back into the mine field and that destroyer is
toast. i love that trick.

Willem wrote:
Yeah, what I also do when there are two or three ships is shoot one
and while the other two are slowing down to hunt me, loose a few torps
at them too. Then I usually try and get away as quick as possible.

If a ship moves from your right to your left, you should aim ferther to

the mission 2 destroyer is fairly easy, but the ones guarding the
aircraft carriers in I believe mission 4 were a pest!

It wasn't their hunting of me that was a problem, it was the fact that I
just couldn't! targit the ones going at 30 nots.

What I ended up doing was diving, getting into exact firing position at one
of the aircraft carriers, rapidly surficing, unloading all my missiles,
then diving again!

It got the job done, but it was rather time consuming to say the least, and
I'd have much rather been able to down the destroyers!

missions. Once you get the basic game mechanics it is really quite easy. I
have beaten every mission out there for Lonewolf, and some of them were
difficult and some were easy. Most of the ones I wrote such as the Midway
mission was designed to be challenging. David Lant's missions were also
designed for advanced players. Though, none of his missions have topped my
battleship missions where you had to like destroy practically the entire
Japanese Navy to get to the battleships. Even on easy that one is a pain
to beat, and I remember David Greenwood teasing me about how evil I was
for making such a difficult mission. Lol!

Midway is my favorite mission.
I have yet to sink the battle ship though.
I cant spell it's name. I'm beginning to think it's unsinkable.

Hi,
Well, most of the time I am able to guess when to fire without using the
built in targeting solution. I find being able to figure that out on my
own comes in handy in some seriously tight situations. My favorite tactic
is to take on the destroyers when they are actively hunting me. For
example, take mission 2. To be honest I find that mission a bit boring
because taking out the destroyer guarding the oil platforms is a piece of
cake to sink. So to make the mission more interesting I will get his
attention by flashing my radar, sonar, or something to let him know I am
out there. Then, I basically try and out fox him in a one on one battle. I
rarely loose on level 5 up against a single destroyer in a one on one
fight. Though, I am speaking of the regular Lonewolf enemy destroyers. the
ones I created for the Lonewolf Midway Island mission are real tough guys.
Don't try and take one of those on in a one on one fight.

well I don't botheer with the target system, as long as you can get a direct on
angle to the target, ie 0 degrees then hitting it is not a problem.

Hi,
Its been a while since I played that mission, but I think it was the
Japanese battleship Yomato. Whatever its name the battleship isn't
invincible. just takes several hits before he will die. If memory
serves me it takes like 10 to 12 torpedoes to sink him. Like I said I
made the enemies challenging.

Dark, I can create that mission for you. Do you want it timed? Also want Any
minds? Where will you want to be placed on the map or do you care? You can drop
me a message including all the details you can about what you want in the
mission in my inbox, but be shure the subject maches the email or I might over
look it. On the other hand, I wish LW came with better sounds, so as soon as
the soundpack is up, I'll grab it.

I also rather like lone wolf and have no regrets of buying it, but I do wish

I can only barely get passed mission five, the one with the aircraft

Despite having all the missions from gma games saved, I really haven't
played it much sinse I always get so destroyed.

It'd be cool if someone who knows about the mission parza could create some
more practice and tutorial missions, with stuff like how to hit a
destroyer going at 30 nots, and a bit more of a chance to work out proper
firing solutions for various angles of ships, not just 90, 45 and 180
degrees.

I admit though, I haven't exactly played the game much after my abysmal
attempts at the first few missions, so if there are in fact easier more
practice style missions later on I might well have missed them.

Thanks Casey, that's an incredibly kind offer.

Perhaps something that plays a bit more like a cross betwene the first
mission and a tutorial, with ships of various speeds passing at various
points, and some handy messages popping up during the mission to give hints
as to where would be a good targiting angle and placement.

My problem is working out where I should put my sub to shoot a moving ship
once I know it's course, sinse this seems to change hugely with the course
and speed of the targit, so some hints and practice in this would be great.

You could even give it some atmosphere and plot by having it be your
qualification course for becoming a sub captain, or something similar.

Btw, what happens about mission numbers? I have all the 75 missions from gma
games, bringing my total up to 92, but I'd imagine people have created
more, probably taking the total over the 99 mark. What happens then?

Oh, and where are these extra missions? If david is not hosting them at Gma,
might they be hosted elsewhere? The same goes for this tutorial mission if
your kind enough to create it casey, sinse it should deffinately be
available to everyone I think.

Hi Dark,
Well, do to limitations in Lonewolf itself it is not possible to add
hints, tips, and tricks while playing the game. Though, some of your
other suggestions are possible.
I'd suggest listening to Raul's audio walkthrough on Lonewolf first to
get an idea of how the game is play. The address is

Personally, I love lonewolf.

If you struggle with hitting ships, use the tracking solution, it will tell
you when you need to fire, and never go too fast, else the enemies will
detect you. A bit of common sense also comes in handy in all the different
situations.

Well especially for chapter 3.
There are so many squiggles.
a blade, electric boxes and the fact that if say I find something like a med
kit its a pain, its in the middle of all the boxes and then I have all this
other stuff.
Although I am quite close to actually getting through to the next boss I think.
I did notice one room in the maze had a card, My only issue is after killing
things in the room with say the blades, if you have to go back through the room
door the blades are at then you won't hear these things.
I think in the next version that the blade should only work when you are going
into the room not when you are going out because you can't hear it.
Also I think in the next version that all areas that just have say 1 boss in
them should become safe aftere is no boss around and nothing else goes in that
room.
I do hope though that I can continue in the next version using the same saved
game file.
when I finnish chapter 3 I think I may just save the game and back up the saved
file.
this game is real cool.

It my just be my rather pants sense of spacial location and direction I
think. In shades or something along those lines it's possible to do that via
sound, - but in Lw it seems you really! need to have a good instant
grasp of basic geometry and angles to work out the best firing solutions.

Personally, I love lonewolf.

If you struggle with hitting ships, use the tracking solution, it will
tell you when you need to fire, and never go too fast, else the enemies
will detect you. A bit of common sense also comes in handy in all the
different situations.

I also rather like lone wolf and have no regrets of buying it, but I do
wish

I was a litle less pants at the game.

I can only barely get passed mission five, the one with the aircraft
carriers, and that only after loots of practice and failed attempts.

Despite having all the missions from gma games saved, I really haven't
played it much sinse I always get so destroyed.

It'd be cool if someone who knows about the mission parza could create
some

more practice and tutorial missions, with stuff like how to hit a
destroyer going at 30 nots, and a bit more of a chance to work out proper
firing solutions for various angles of ships, not just 90, 45 and 180
degrees.

I admit though, I haven't exactly played the game much after my abysmal
attempts at the first few missions, so if there are in fact easier more
practice style missions later on I might well have missed them.

Beware the Grue!

If you think the original LW sounds and music are good you really need
to get my Lonewolf sound pack. I digitally remastered many effects and
replaced some effects with better ones. As soon as I find it I'll upload

2008-11-22 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
I don't know if it is possible to cover every single mission in detail,
but what it sounds like is what people need is a few simple training
missions. Once you get the basic game mechanics it is really quite easy.
I have beaten every mission out there for Lonewolf, and some of them
were difficult and some were easy. Most of the ones I wrote such as the
Midway mission was designed to be challenging. David Lant's missions
were also designed for advanced players. Though, none of his missions
have topped my battleship missions where you had to like destroy
practically the entire Japanese Navy to get to the battleships. Even on
easy that one is a pain to beat, and I remember David Greenwood teasing
me about how evil I was for making such a difficult mission. Lol!

I must say, these days when I play it, my vector theory comes in handy, but
I've been playing lonewolf long before I did physics. It's just a matter of
logic.

If a ship moves from your right to your left, you should aim ferther to the
left than its current possission. I use the tracking solution to know when
exactly to shoot, but sometimes I guess.

Re: [Audyssey] Lone wolf sound pack.

2008-11-22 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi,
Well, most of the time I am able to guess when to fire without using the
built in targeting solution. I find being able to figure that out on my
own comes in handy in some seriously tight situations. My favorite
tactic is to take on the destroyers when they are actively hunting me.
For example, take mission 2. To be honest I find that mission a bit
boring because taking out the destroyer guarding the oil platforms is a
piece of cake to sink. So to make the mission more interesting I will
get his attention by flashing my radar, sonar, or something to let him
know I am out there. Then, I basically try and out fox him in a one on
one battle. I rarely loose on level 5 up against a single destroyer in a
one on one fight. Though, I am speaking of the regular Lonewolf enemy
destroyers. the ones I created for the Lonewolf Midway Island mission
are real tough guys. Don't try and take one of those on in a one on one
fight.

 Hi Rick,
It was probably the one I made a few years back. I'll upload it to the USA

Games server this weekend and give you a link to the file.

Re: [Audyssey] Lone wolf sound pack.

2008-11-20 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Rick,
Well for my sound pack back in February USA Games had a hacker break
into our web servers and delete everything on the server. WE have been
piecing the web site back together ever since. I checked the files on
the server and the Lonewolf sound pack was something we never restored.

Rick wrote:

I went to audiogames.net, then to the mods section.
They have links for 2 sound packs, one by USA games and the other by PCS games,
neither one works.
I get a 404 error.
