Re: [Audyssey] sryth and the cubes

2008-06-25 Thread Thomas Ward

Hi Bryan,
thanks. One of the reasons I am taking on the Haunting in Durnsig
adventure is I heard from a couple of people it is a place to pick up
some great stuff. Now, with your email I know a bit of what to watch out
for. Grin.

Bryan Peterson wrote:
Haunting in Durnsig? There are several excellent swords in that adventure,
but I'd either recommend going for the Dragonwing Breastplate or Warlord's
Helm, both of which will add nicely to your MR and stamina. You'll have to
identify the helm before you know which one you have, but you'll know right
away if you get the Dragonwing Breastplate because it'll say Unidentified
Breastplate. The only other torso armor available from that quest is the
Shimmering Wolf Pelt, which even unidentified is easy to distinguish because
it'll say Unidentified Wolf Pelt. My advice, tedious though it might be, is
to leave the pumpkin patch once you've cleared it but before you face the
boss. There's a short path back to the entrance once you do reach the end.
Rest and save your game, then try the end of the adventure several times
until you get the item you want. This means you don't have to go through the
entire quest again, and since the item resets every hour you only have to
try once an hour. It's well worth it I feel, since both the helm and
breastplate offer nice stamina boosts aside from the MR boosts. And the
Dragonwing Plate is better than a breastplate you'll have the chance to get
in Proving Grounds III, although the restt of that armor is still worth
keeping. You can sel that breastplate for some cash if you need it.
Time is an illusion, lunchtime doubly so.

Hi,
Oh, you mean the cat guy. He kicked my butt twice, and I haven't fully
defeated him yet. I think I need some slightly better mr before I put
that guy down. the first 4 or 5 fights weren't too bad. After that he is
unbeatable for me.

trip to the Adventurer's Collectiive first. Skills are so much easier to
train than powers. Anyway, once you do have those skills at sixty you can
invoke the magic and unlock the tome's true potential. This is something I
really do recommend since it offers the potential for some really nifty
 specific EXP bonuses.

Then you'd probably better train u, maybe even get a better shield. Have you
completed any of the roving Grounds? Your MR is about right for the first
three or so if I'm not mistaken, and the Adventurer Tokens would enable you
to get a better shield depending on what you're using at the moment. Granted
I don't know the absolute minimum for taking on the Catamarok so I couldn't
say for sure.

Hi,
I am currently using the Moonglow Buckler shield from Talys trading
post. If I remember correctly it has a 6 mr plus additions to luck and
something else. Without it I have a 60 melee.
I don't think I got Catherine off to a good start. At the beginning of
the game I put all of my experience into restoration and elementalism.
Now I am slowly but surely trying to train up my weapons so I have a
lower than usual melee for my character. I can probably fix that once I
enter the proving grounds and some other places were I can get big
experience bonuses, and more adventure tokans which will allow me to get
a better magical shield.
right now I am working my way through the Haunting in Durnsig adventure.
Once I complete that I will probably enter level 1 of the proving grounds.

Hi Bryan,
Speaking of the chest and the cubes is there any use for the tome you
recover from the chest? I have it in my inventory, but it won't let me
drop it or store it at my house in Durnsig. It also doesn't seam to have
any use other than the exp you get for finding it.

Bryan Peterson wrote:
Actually Thomas, you don't need them all. You can oen the chest if you have

reason that it would be possible. But the more cubes you have the higher the
 EXP bonus you receive.

Hi,
Once you kill the Voren-thul there will be a wooden chest in the room
where you killed the Voren-thul. Place the cubes on top of the chest and
you will be able to open it and get the contents out. Though, you must
have all four cubes to open the chest.
Cheers.
