They can be very hard to watch sometimes even for a die hard fan, especially 
when the pitchers are giving up lots of walks and the fielders are giving up 
easy errors.

Gator gymnasts place third at SEC Championship meet

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. —The Florida gymnastics team, the SEC regular-season champion and the SEC Championship meet's top seed, finished third after some struggles Saturday in the Von Braun Center.
Florida never led after a fall or major break on each rotation.
"It wasn't one of the Gators' best meet," UF coach Jenny Rowland said. "The momentum [made it] hard to continue to move forward throughout the evening, which makes for a really challenging competition.
"On beam, the momentum picked up. We had five really solid hit routines after [Payton Richard's fall], so momentum was flowing, momentum was going forward." 
Alabama claimed its 10th title and first since 2015 at 197.875. LSU was second at 197.775. Florida was third with a season-low 196.975. Rounding out Saturday's results were Kentucky (196.825), Auburn (196.275), Missouri (196.125) and Arkansas (195.60).
LSU led all teams on vault (49.625) and floor (49.50). Alabama had top total on bars (49.425) and Florida again led on beam (49.525). Florida was forced to count a fall on bars for the first time since 2010.
Florida's Trinity Thomas, the nation's top all-arounder, was limited to just uneven bars Saturday. She injured her ankles during uneven bars warm-up at Alabama on March 5.
A pair of Gators were among a four-way tie for first on beam. It was the third consecutive SEC beam title for senior Alyssa Baumann, becoming the first in the event's 40-year history to win three beam titles. Her winning marks were 9.975 (2018) and 9.95 (2019, 2021).
Freshman Ellie Lazzari is the first freshman to claim a share of the beam title since Baumann won 2018 title.
"I just wanted to finish out strong, and [with it] being my freshman year, I just wanted to soak everything in and experience all the amazing energy in the arena, so I was really excited about my performance," Lazzari said.
"I always know that this team has my back, and I will always have theirs, and I just want to pick up the momentum and get the fire going, so that's what I did." 
Florida finds out where it will head for NCAA Regional Championship action Monday. Four sites will play host to NCAA Regional action the first weekend of April. The reveal for the regional fields is at 5 p.m. on NCAA.com.
"I really am 100 percent confident that this team has the courage to take the step forward and continue to do what they've been doing, and training with that confidence and conviction," Rowland said.
"(We will) reset, refocus, and that's what these Gators are really good at. They have that strength, they have that courage, and I know this is gonna sting a lot for them, but it's going to give them that little fuel to continue to take those steps forward and persevere for a couple more meets. That's what we have ahead of us, and I know the Gators are going to finish strongly."
SEC honors
Four Gators earned All-SEC or SEC All-Freshman in Saturday's competition.
The All-SEC Team is comprised of the student-athletes with the top two event scores (including ties) in each session of the SEC Championships. The All-Freshman team is comprised of the freshmen student-athlete with the top score (including ties) on each event in each SEC Championships' session.

7-5 final. I know it’s how coaches do it most of the time, but I still don’t 
agree with changing a pitcher that’s been cruising along just because it’s the 
ninth inning. Miami had the tying run at the plate with one out. We had a 7-1 
lead after eight. We used three pitchers in the top of the inning after not 
sending Scott out to finish the game.

That is my section. Sadly, I have elected not to attend this year. The view is 
excellent from there. It will be warm with a noon start. Wear hats and put

How Ole Miss athletics has prepared to host college football games through the pandemic
OXFORD — Take a minute to think about just how unlikely this outcome was. Ole Miss senior linebacker Lakia Henry has.
"It's been a rollercoaster ride man," Henry said. "Really. For us to be here right now is unreal."
It's all led to this. Ole Miss football players have endured six months of postponements, cancelations, mask wearing, social distancing, isolation from loved ones and swabs up noses for this weekend.
SEC football returns to Oxford on Saturday.
Ole Miss hosts No. 6 Florida at 11 a.m. on Saturday in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. It will be the first SEC football game of the season, along with Kentucky versus Auburn which kicks off at the same time. 
Things are going to look different. Vaught-Hemingway Stadium will be limited to 25% capacity. On-campus tailgating is forbidden, meaning The Grove and all its traditions are off limits. Fans have to wear face coverings unless they're eating or drinking. Elevators will be limited to five passengers per trip. The marching band won't be allowed to perform on the field before games or during halftime. 
But that's all part of playing football during the COVID-19 pandemic. If it wasn't for these precautions, there wouldn't be a game to host.
"What we're trying to do is continue the season," Ole Miss athletic director Keith Carter told the Clarion Ledger. "We don't want three or four days after the game for there to be a giant spike in Mississippi because everyone went to the Ole Miss game. We just want to make sure we're being safe and following protocols so we can continue and hopefully get through this season."

The fan experience
Tracking attendance will be a fascinating pursuit in 2020.
Per an executive order from Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves, Ole Miss can only allow 16,010 spectators into Vaught-Hemingway Stadium per game this season. As of Tuesday, Carter told the Clarion Ledger Ole Miss was still about 2,000 sales shy of hitting that new sellout number.
"Understand this is an issue that's kind of going on around the country," Carter said. "People are not selling as many as they thought they would. Hopefully we'll have a great game Saturday and interest will pop up."
Carter is right on his first assertion. Schools aren't hitting their updated capacities early in the season.
For example, Notre Dame is allowing about 15,000 fans to come to games but reported an attendance of 10,097 for its home opener against Duke. Then there's Texas, which is allowing up to 25,000 fans come to games this fall, only hosted 15,337 fans for the season opener against UTEP.

We break down the 2020 Florida football team by position group. This week a look at the offensive line.
The upside
  A line that was so young and inexperienced last season now is a little bit older and a whole lot more experienced coming into the 2020 season.
 The newest member of the group, ironically, is the most experienced. That would be Stewart Reese, the senior graduate transfer from Mississippi State, who started 21 games and played in 38 in his three years with the Bulldogs.
 Not only is he an experienced starter, he’s an experienced one in Dan Mullen’s offense, having started all 13 games in his redshirt freshman season in 2017.
 So, he’s experienced,  familiar with the scheme, familiar with the playbook and certainly familiar with offensive line coach John Hevesy. And that’s not all he brings. He also brings versatility, having started games at both tackle and guard. He’s also capable of playing center if needed.
 Next up on the experience board are guard Brett Heggie and tackles Stone Forsythe and Jean Delance. The three have combined to start 48 games for the Gators and now are in their third year in Mullen’s offense, so there is a comfort level there.
 Heggie, like Reese, can play multiple positions and has been getting reps at guard and center during preseason camp. Sophomore Richard Gouriage also falls under the category of versatile, having played both guard and tackle this past season.
 One of UF’s least inexperienced players could end up being the starting center. True sophomore Ethan White started one game at guard and saw considerable playing time last season and has made the move to the critical center spot, where he has been running with the No.1  offense. He’s a big, physical center who also apparently has a command of the cerebral demands of the position.
 White is relatively inexperienced, but he’s been surrounded in preseason camp by the two most experienced linemen — guards Heggie and Reese.
 Overall, proven depth will be provided by tackle T.J. Moore and guard/center Griffin McDowell.
 Here’s another potential plus: the four true freshmen who redshirted last season — Kingsley Eguakun, Riley Simonds, Will Harrod and Michael Tarquin — have been in the offense for a year now and have gained strength.
The downside
 The Gators don’t have much in the way of proven depth up front other than Moore and McDowell.
 Behind those two are the four redshirt freshmen and the three true freshmen — Richard Leonard, Gerald Mincey and Joshua Braun. The highest-rated offensive lineman in the 2020 recruiting class, tackle Issiah Walker, has transferred to Miami to be closer to home.
 Ideally, schools like to always have 15 scholarship offensive linemen on the roster, but the Gators are two short of that number.
Young guy to watch
 Former Suwannee standout Joshua Braun, an early enrollee who is physically ready to step in and play in the SEC. The question is, did missing the spring put him behind in any way in learning the offense. If he picks everything up during preseason camp, he’ll have a chance to see significant playing time.
Don’t be surprised if … 
 Mississippi State graduate transfer Stewart Reese emerges as one of UF’s best offensive linemen and makes a serious run at becoming All-SEC in his senior season. Not only does he know the Mullen/Hevesy scheme — he knows the standard.

There was a segment Tyus let FSU get several offensive rebounds and score after
the third or forth try in the same possession. Macklin has trouble with his
knee stiftening up after halftime. Billy pulled them to send a message that if
they are not putting out maximum effort, there are other players he can go to.
Yeguete is a rebounding "beast" and that's why he was in.

Gillislee has also shown this potential, like in the GA game last year. The only
thing that stopped him from a long TD run was a hamstring injury. And he seems
to break free for long runs more frequently.

That potentially makes the schedule inequitable. If your two "locked-in" rivals
are traditional strong teams like UF's would be, it would make getting to
Atlanta very difficult. I personally have never liked divisions when the
playoff teams are determined by overall record that included out of division
schedules that are different. One of the reasons I lost interest in the NFL.

Isn't this why Hockey has something called the "enforcer" and pithers hit
batters intentionally as paybuy when their teammates have been questionably
hit. Spikes got caught, so he has to pay some penalty. But this happens in a
lot of sports, especially when the officials don't take care of it. Like what
was happening to the good guys Saturday.

One small correction. TN did not drive for a TD from their own 4 yard line.
Tebow fumbled at the 4 but the fumble was returned out to around the 30. They
then drove for a TD aided by a bs celebration penalty after a sack. The sack
probably would have prevented the drive because it would have beeen 2nd and
very long at that point.

trouble gaining weight if I didn't watch what I ate.
