India working on herbal cure for AIDS: Kalam

Mon, Sep 8 06:11 PM
New
Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Indian and Japanese scientists are working on
developing herbal and Ayurvedic formulations to treat the dreaded
HIV/AIDS, former Indian president A.P.J. Abdul Kalam said here Monday."Indian
and Japanese scientists are working together on nearly 60 plant species
and have found 16 plant species which have properties to fight AIDS,"
said Kalam, an eminent scientist himself. He was speaking at the
Southeast Asian conference on Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases after
inaugurating it. He, however, did not specify the plant species or the
institutes where this research was on.Kalam said the Army
Medical Corps too were working on some formulations based on Ayurveda,
ancient Indian system of medicine, to cure HIV/AIDS.He said herbal medicines
are part of "our age-old traditions and we should work on them to treat
diseases".About
discrimination against people suffering from AIDS and TB, he said:
"HIV-positive students were thrown out of a school in Kerala and many
women are thrown out of in-laws' place due to TB infection.
Discriminations must stop. Every one needs dignity."India is
home to 2.5 million HIV/AIDS patients including over 70,000 children
below the age of 14. Similarly, every year at least 320,000 Indians die
of TB.Nearly 500 experts from Southeast Asian countries are in
Delhi to participate in the three-day TB and Chest diseases conference
here.

India's condom ring tone a huge global hit

Mon, Sep 8 03:45 PM
New
Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Guess which Indian ring tone is being downloaded
the most all over the world? No, it is not the latest Bollywood
chartbuster, but a public health message that goes 'condom, condom'.Its
makers are amazed by the popularity of the ring tone that was launched
last month and aims to promote safe sex, the use of condom and to thus
tackle the growing HIV/AIDS epidemic in the country where about 2.5
million people are estimated to be living with it.'It is a hit
internationally. Nowhere in the world are we aware of a ring tone for a
product,' said Yvonne MacPherson, country director of the BBC World
Service Trust, the international charity of the BBC.'The 'condom
a cappella' ringtone is really innovative. What is amazing is that
India has started the trend of a ring tone which carries a social
health message. People are excited about this ring tone internationally
and are looking to India for this,' MacPherson told IANS.What has perhaps
caught the imagination of the people is the fresh voice, sound and music, which
are totally Indian.'I think the ring tone has international appeal. It has
quirky music and sound,' said MacPherson. In
the three weeks since its launch, the makers have already received
257,744 SMS requests for download and over two million hits on the
website. The ring tone can be downloaded by SMSing 'CONDOM' to
56887 (download charges apply) or free from anywhere worldwide on the
website www.condomcondom.org. The ring tone has been composed by Rupert
Fernandes and sung by Vijay Prakash, who is a professional singer, and
has chanted the word condom more than 50 times.'As it became
international news, there has been demand for it from all corners of
the globe,' said an excited MacPherson, who got calls from radio
stations from across the US and Britain. The ring tone marks the
latest phase in the three-year intense mass media campaign to make
condom use more socially acceptable. It was partially launched in Aug 8
but was nationally seen on television, cinema, radio and in print in
Aug 22.The campaign uses a multitude of youth friendly platforms
such as website downloads, online games, mobile advertising and
downloads, along with the TV and radio advertisements, MacPherson said,
adding that the campaign is funded by a grant from the Bill and Melinda
Gates Foundation. The National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) is also using
the ad to support its condom promotion efforts. The objective is to connect with
all age groups and across the socio-economic strata, MacPherson added. In
the advertisement, a wedding is shown where a mobile rings with the
sound of 'condom, condom'. An embarrassed man holds the phone and looks
for others' reactions. Then he finds the reactions smart and
responsible. The tagline is 'jo samjha wohi sikander' ('the one who
understands is a winner').MacPherson said the ring tone has also scored big
time as many have sent messages to them. One
of the messages they have received on their website is from Denmark and
it reads: 'I have just read an article about this latest ring tone from
you, i have heard it and i love IT!! you are tearing down the walls
around this taboo.'Another one from the US said: 'I found this
and my sons overwhelmed and they love it. ...opened up a new dialogue
regarding sexual health. Thank you for such a fun way to open up with
my kids about HIV and AIDS.'It is getting accolades from Indians
too. 'Awesome, from today onwards this will be my mobile ring tone,
it's a good effort to spread awareness...' a message from a man in
Karnataka said.MacPherson said: 'The objective was to make
condom socially acceptable and to remove the taboo around it. Condoms
are a health product and a life saving device to protect a person from
HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted diseases.'People feel
embarrassed when it comes to protection so we have to first take care
of this. This is how we would be able to check the epidemic nature of
the disease. The shock value coupled with bringing the subject out in
the open will also help in dispelling the myths,' MacPherson added.According
to Radharani Mitra, the creative director of the trust which is
producing the advertisements, 'ring tones have become such personal
statements that a specially created condom ring tone seemed just the
right way of combining a health message in a fun way'.(Kavita Bajeli-Datt can

g_b Our Deepest Fear

2008-09-15 Thread dunno76

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented,
fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people
won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people
permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically
liberates others.

g_b New Ad from Virgin Mobile for Yoyo Plan - Does Gay mean a Feminine Male?

2008-09-15 Thread Tintin Mumbai India
Hi Guys,

I dont know if you have noticed it or not. Incase the AD has not been
noticed, here is the scenario.

2 guys, friends, are in hospital with pastered limbs.

Guy1 when being attended by a female nurse gets ring from Guy2
(intentionally) and makes Nurse to check for his mobile phone in his pant
pockets, and hence to touch him.

Once Nurse leaves, he picks the call from his friend in another ward,
stating that its his turn now.

When Guy2's phone is made to ring, a male nurse enters to his room.

Now here is the point to be noted:
This male nurse is shown feminine by look, walk and feel.

I wanted to know wasnt it shown deliberately?
I can understand that they wanted to show PAKCHA / KLPD or whatever for
Guy2, when he was expecting same beautiful female nurse.

They could had shown an ugly fat female nurse, or like a bear tpye male
nurse, or simply a male nurse without any feminine act.

Dont know how it should be taken but for me, it is wrong way of portray for
a gay as a feminine male character.
Or is it simplest way to portray a gay?

Abhay.

Doctors say leg pain can signal deadly blood clot
THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Monday, September 15th 2008, 8:42 AM

WASHINGTON - Far too many Americans are dying of dangerous blood
clots that can masquerade as simple leg pain, says a major new
government effort to get both patients and their doctors to recognize
the emergency in time.

"It's a silent killer. It's hard to diagnose," said acting Surgeon
General Dr. Steven Galson, who announced the new campaign Monday. "I
don't think most people understand that this is a serious medical
problem or what can be done to prevent it."

At issue are clots with cumbersome names: A deep vein thrombosis, or
DVT, forms in large veins, usually a leg or the groin. It can quickly
kill if it moves up to the lungs, where it goes by the name pulmonary
embolism, or PE.

These clots make headlines every few years when seemingly healthy
people collapse after long airplane flights or being in similarly
cramped quarters. Vice President Cheney suffered one after a long
trip last year. NBC correspondent David Bloom died of one in 2003
after spending days inside a tank while covering the invasion of Iraq.

But that provides a skewed vision of the problem. While there aren't
good statistics, the new surgeon general's campaign estimates that
every year, between 350,000 and 600,000 Americans get one of these
clots — and at least 100,000 of them die.

There are a host of risk factors and triggers: Recent surgery or a
broken bone; a fall or car crash; pregnancy or taking birth control
pills or menopause hormones; being immobile for long periods. The
risk rises with age, especially over 65, and among people who smoke
or are obese.

And some people have genetic conditions that cause no other symptoms
but increase their risk, making it vital to tell your doctor if a
relative has ever suffered a blood clot.

People with those factors should have "a very low threshold" for
calling a doctor or even going to the emergency room if they have
symptoms of a clot, said Galson, who issued a "call to action" for
better education of both consumers and doctors, plus more research.

Symptoms include swelling; pain, especially in the calf; or a warm
spot or red or discolored skin on the leg; shortness of breath or
pain when breathing deeply.

But here's the rub: Doctors are ill-informed, too. For example,
studies suggest a third of patients who need protective blood
thinners when they enter the hospital for major surgery don't get
them. And patients can even be turned away despite telltale symptoms,
like happened to Le Keisha Ruffin just weeks after the birth of her
daughter, Caitlyn.

Ruffin made repeated visits to doctors and emergency rooms for
growing pain in her leg and groin in December 2003 and January 2004,
but was told it must be her healing Caesarean section scar.

Finally one night, Ruffin's husband ran her a really hot bath for
pain relief — only to have her climb out minutes later with her leg
swollen three to four times its normal size, and then pass out.

"I like to call that my miracle bath," Ruffin said, because the
sudden swelling proved the tip-off for doctors.

Pieces of a giant clot in her right leg had broken off and floated to
her lung. The ER doctor "said if I hadn't made it in when I did, I
may not have lived through the rest of the night," recalled Ruffin,
now 32, who spent a month in the hospital and required extensive
physical therapy to walk normally again.

These clots "tend to fall through the cracks" because they cross so
many areas of medicine, said Dr. Samuel Goldhaber, chairman of the
Venous Disease Coalition and a cardiologist at Boston's Brigham &
Women's Hospital.

With the surgeon general's campaign, "DVT after all these years will
finally get the national spotlight like cigarette smoking did in the
mid-60s," he said.

In addition to Galson's report:

• The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality is issuing a 12-page
booklet to help consumers tell if they're at risk for DVTs and what
to do — and a 60-page DVT treatment-and-prevention guide for doctors
and hospitals.

• As a prevention incentive, starting Oct. 1 Medicare will withhold
payment from hospitals when patients develop the clots after knee- or
hip-replacement surgery.

g_b New Online Reporting Facility for UK Gay and Transgender Victims of Bullying

New Online Reporting Facility for UK Gay and Transgender Victims of Bullying

By Uk Gay News | Article Date: 9/06/2008 6:00 AM

A new online reporting facility for victims of homophobic and transphobic
bullying has been launched in the UK by Educational Action Challenging
Homophobia (*EACH
*).

The scheme is available to young people throughout the UK, and to adults in
the West Country of England.

"With computer ownership and usage so extensive today, expanding our service
into online reporting was a logical development for EACH's Homophobic
Incident Reporting Service," explains EACH's Executive Director, *Jonathan
Charlesworth*.

The EACH online reporting reporting facility can be found
*HERE
*. Note: initial, and confidential, registration is required. EACH is a
registered charity that is completely independent of both the police and
councils who fully support the service but do not have access to any
personal information you choose to give, without your consent.

The recent YouGov national survey, commissioned by Stonewall, into the
reporting of homophobic crimes reflects that although the police are more
likely to receive the report of a homophobic incident than anyone else, 68
percent of respondents never reported an incident to anyone while 34
percent of respondents believed the police would not or could not do
anything and 27 percent thought their report would not be taken seriously.

"Our Force is affirmed by YouGov's findings which would reflect that the
South West experiences the least amount of homophobic crime in Britain,"
said Assistant Chief Constable, *John Long* of Avon and Somerset
Constabulary.

"All police forces are acutely aware however that many more incidents of
homophobia take place than are reported.

"With 68% of people nationally failing to report such incidents to anyone,
and only 23% reporting to the police, initiatives like EACH's online and
freephone telephone reporting services complement the work of the police
most effectively," he added.

Charlesworth agrees: "These findings and our own records inform us that a
target of homophobia is more likely to report an incident to EACH than a
housing officer, social worker or council caseworker.

"It is no coincidence that our organisation's profile nationally, and local
presence specifically, adds to people's sense of safety.

"We want to build on that confidence by encouraging gay and heterosexual
people to adopt a zero tolerance of homophobic incidents by clicking into
our online reporting or calling our freephone Actionline, to report them,
whenever they're witnessed."

The award-winning support and training charity has recently expanded its
Bristol offices to accommodate the appointment of its dedicated Caseworker,
*Gemma Lindsey* who joined the team in January and the agency's new
Development Worker, *Jenny Drew*.

Co-author of the Department for Children, Schools and Families' recent
guidance to schools Safe to Learn: Homophobic Bullying, EACH is welcoming a
surge of training invitations from agencies including the Education,
Criminal Justice and Health services.

Meanwhile EACH's UK-wide Actionline continues to provide ongoing support for
any young person, giving them the opportunity to report homophobic bullying
and seek confidential help and assistance.

EACH's freephone Actionline (0808 1000 143) and online reporting facilities
provide a confidential service for everyone who lives, works or travels
across the West of England. This is funded by the Councils of Bristol, Bath
and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, North Somerset plus their
respective Community Safety teams.

EACH's freephone Actionline (0808 1000 143) for young people is available
across the UK. Calls from payphones and landlines are free. Some mobile
service providers may charge.

g_b Religions Differ On Gay Marriage Ban

2008-09-15 Thread Aditya Bondyopadhyay
Religions Differ On Gay Marriage Ban By On Top Magazine Staff
Published: September 11, 2008

Mormon leaders asked their California members to "do all you can" to support
a gay marriage ban, and Pope Benedict told Catholics gay unions are false
and immoral in opposing gay marriage, while Episcopal Bishops in California
took an opposing view in the gay marriage debate, calling gay marriage "the
principle way" gay couples can show their love, devotion and life-long
commitment to each other.

Religious leaders in California, who played a big role in passing a 2000 gay
marriage ban, continue to wield tremendous influence on California's current
gay marriage debate.

The California Supreme Court ruled in May that gay couples have the
constitutional right to marry, overturning a voter-approved gay marriage
ban. And on June 15th, the State started offering gender neutral marriage
licenses. Since then several thousand gay couples have married.

But a November ballot initiative, Proposition 8, aims to constitutionally
ban gay marriage in the Golden State – again.

In June, the Mormon Church (the Mormons) sent out a letter to be read at all
California congregations asking members to "do all you can" to support
Proposition 8.

"The church's teachings and position on this moral issue are unequivocal.
Marriage between a man and a woman is ordained by God," Mormon leaders said.
The leaders also urged members to donate their "means and time" in support
of Proposition 8.

Pope Benedict, the head of the Catholic church, has often condemned
homosexuality while rallying against gay marriage.

"The union of love, based on matrimony between a man and a woman, which
makes up the family, represents a good for all society that can not be
substituted by, confused with, or compared to other types of unions,"
Benedict said a day after the court's ruling.

Catholic leaders in California have heeded the call, forming coalitions and
donating millions in support of the gay marriage ban.

"We're asking people to volunteer to help in parishes, to participate in
telephoning, talking with neighbors," Bill May, chairman of Catholics for
the Common Good, told the *Catholic News Service*. "This is a really
important issue. Marriage is the foundation of the family. People are very
upset that the [State] Supreme Court overruled the will of the people."

In a statement released Wednesday, the Episcopal Bishops of California urged
voters to vote against Proposition 8.

In making a gay marriage-affirming statement, the California Episcopal
Bishops are certain to face criticism by their own church, which remains in
a theological free-fall over the election of an openly gay bishop, V. Gene
Robinson, to the Episcopal Diocese of New Hampshire in 2003.

The bishops said marriage would enhance the "Christian values" of monogamy,
love and commitment for gays and lesbians.

"Jesus calls us to love rather than hate, to give rather than to receive, to
live in hope rather than fear," says the statement signed by California's
six most senior bishops. "We believe that this continued access [to gay
marriage] promotes Jesus' ethic of love, giving, and hope."

g_b Black Gay Men And Black Women Hit Hardest By HIV

Black Gay Men And Black Women Hit Hardest By HIV Infections
By Alice Turner
22:50, September 12th 2008

A new analysis from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention shows
that young black gay men, black women and white gay men in their 30s and 40s
are much more likely to be newly infected with HIV than other groups in the
United States. The study, which appears in this week's Morbidity and
Mortality Weekly Report, shows 53 percent of the estimated 56,000 cases of
new HIV infection in 2006 were among gay and bisexual men, and 46 percent of
the infections occurred among black Americans.

The cause is not yet fully understood, but it appears that underestimation
of personal risk plays a big role. For these high risk categories, it also
seems to be a problem to maintain safe sexual behavior for a long period of
time. Also, black women were almost 15 times more likely to get HIV than
white women and almost four times more likely than Hispanic women.

While some allege that homophobia, poverty and discrimination are also
notable factors, one cannot disregard that, probably, negligence and
irresponsibility are, logically, the most important factors which create
these disparities.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have announced early August
that the number of Americans who are infected with HIV has been undercounted
for almost a decade. It appears that in 2006 there were at least 56,300 new
HIV infections, significantly more than the 40,000 estimated in previous
years. As expected, gay men are the most affected by new HIV infections.

Also, late July, a report by the Black AIDS Institute has found that the
United States spearheads the global response to HIV/AIDS abroad, but
neglects problems with the disease at home, especially among black people.
The so-called "Black America," which is made up of some 39 million African
Americans, would rank 16th in the world in the number of people living with
HIV. Blacks present a gene variant, which, while ensuring a higher level of
protection against some types of malaria, increases the vulnerability to HIV
infection.

A study presented on August 5 at the XVII International AIDS Conference in
Mexico City has concluded that heterosexual activity may be associated with
higher risks of contracting HIV than previously thought. The standard
estimates of 1/1000 chance of getting HIV in a heterosexual encounter is
much higher in reality because it doesn't make use of risk factors.

As expected, the highest risk among heterosexual contacts is anal sex, which
carries a risk of 1 in 3.1 contacts of getting HIV. At the other end of the
spectrum, there were even zero transmission cases after 100 normal
penile-vaginal intercourse acts. Circumcision lowers the risk of contracting
the disease, whereas lesions such as genital ulcers significantly increase
the risks.

Lennon had gay fantasy - book
 12/09/2008 21:18 - (SA)

London - John Lennon had gay fantasies about Sir Paul McCartney, a new book
claims.

Respected Beatles author Philip Norman alleges in new book *John Lennon: The
Life* that the musician wanted a sexual relationship with his band mate Paul
and also fantasised about sleeping with his own mother Julia.

Sir Paul and the late Beatle's wife Yoko Ono are furious.

Both Yoko and Paul agreed to be interviewed for the book, but are now
distancing themselves from it and Yoko has withdrawn her endorsement.

"Both Sir Paul and Yoko are extremely angry and upset," a source revealed.

It was recently rumoured that filmmaker Sam Taylor-Wood is planning to
direct a biopic focusing on the early life of the late Beatle and his
relationship with his estranged mother.

The film is set during John's teenage years, at the point where Julia came
back into his life - after he was raised by her step-sister Mimi - and began
to influence his future with her love of music.

It then follows the musical legend as he forms *The Quarrymen* with friends
Paul and George Harrison, the band they were involved with before The
Beatles.

The film has been written by Matt Greenhalgh, who won a BAFTA award for his
work on the Joy Division movie *Control* and will be produced by Robert
Bernstein.

John was shot dead at aged 40 in 1980 by deranged fan Mark Chapman as he
entered the Dakota building in New York. - Bang Showbiz.com

g_b "Bloddy Homosexual!" says Amitabh in The Last Lear

2008-09-15 Thread Aham
Rituparno has managed to extract the best performances from ALL his actors in
his bongish Shakespeare meets Muzaffar Ali tale “The Last Lear”. Amitabh
plays the character of a Stage actor who is obsessed with Shakespeare. He is
shown as a fanatic who rebukes anyone who does not know much of Shakespeare. In
this film ritu has added a dialogue and I wonder why… In one of the scenes
where amitabh is interviewed, he comments about his friend/film director (I
don’t clearly remember) … “BLODDY HOMOSEXUAL”… he further cautions the
interviewer about the same person that he will not spare him and have sex
with him, if he went close to him.

What was the need? Why such dialogues?

Did Utpal Dutt have such a dialogue in his play “Aajker Shahjahan” – (The
inspiration for this script) ?

has anyone else seen this movie... your views?

smiles :-)

g_b This time, it was Me. - Kurla Loo - Evening of Sept 13, 2008

2008-09-15 Thread Tintin Mumbai India
Hi Guys,

This Sat, it happened with me too.
But I dont feel ashamed of the incidence, just because I think, I can share
some of good and bad points from my experience.

It was about Evening of Sat Sept 13, 2008. and I was coming from Dadar to
Kurla.
Platform No I dont remember.
In the end of the Platform, there was a loo under dark, no lights.

Like any other normal gay, I too was tempted to visit the loo and found a
guy showing off.
Cutting it short, the point is I got tempted to touch him (his).

He left the loo and as soon as I came out, he was with another guy, and they
caught me.
I knew what is gonna go happen. One of those (the first one) held me from
collar of shirt (which I feel very offensive).

Before he could start something, I started shouting at both of those.
I started swearing at the level higher than their.
When they tried to threatened me that they are cops, and showed me the ID, I
shouted back, that I know what is that.
I also shouted that they have made it business and they net the innocent
guys in this way and rob them.

Believe me, before I started shouting and even after (even before they knew
that they have netted a wrong prey), they never spoke anything gay or like
that.
(Like gud hai too, ya, yahaan gaandu giri karne aata hai... etc etc).
My point is, they themselves do not talk about it very clearly.

Anyways, as soon as I started shouting, they found that I am a wrong prey
and better to leave.
They left in the warning mode, as if they are real cops.

Now:
Why I am telling you all about my stupidity?

I accept that it was a foolish act, but sometimes when you commit a mistake
it is better to handle it with quick calm mind, rather than falling deep
into net.
And it is also good to share the tips and tricks you did to come out of the
net, which may be useful to others too, in same or similar situation.
I dont know what it could had impacted and how heavily, if those were real
cops.
But Worst could be like I had been really blackmailed, and they had taken a
lot of money as bribe. But that was going to happen in anycase in this scene
too, if I had fallen soft as they wanted.

I know after seeing this mail from me, many of my friends over the group
will scold me.
But, I am ready to listen all that, I deserve that.
But it was also necessary to tell the group about it.

One more request to you guys:
If anything happens like this, when you are around, dont stay away assuming
"Thank God it was not me". It could be you too, if the god were not generous
to you.
Just like those blackmailers or false cops, we also can be grouped in same
situation.

If two guys could run away from the scene, just seeing me alone in fighting
mode, suppose what could be done if I had been supported there itself by
someone like me.
I am sure, if two of us were there at the scene, those blackmailers could be
taught a nice lesson.
(Dont know if that had been a nice handle for the situation or not).

Abhay.

g_b The GayBombay 10th Anniversary Picnic to Bhandardara on Sunday 05 October 2008

2008-09-15 Thread GayBombay Events
Mumbai offers many an escape into little known hill stations, but perhaps none
so unpretentious and charming as Bhandardara. Comfortably close to Mumbai,
Bhandardara is blessed with three essentials - rejuvenating climate, luxuriant
green vales and explicit serenity. The place shows with faultless precision the
magnanimity of nature.

Legend has it, that this is the land where Agastya Rishi gifted Lord Rama with
the miraculous arrow that was used to kill Ravana. The Rishi had meditated here
for a year, surviving on water and air to be blessed with a stream of the
Ganga, now known as River Pravara. The meandering Pravara feeds the serene
Arthur Lake that glimmers at Bhandardara's core. The tranquil blue mirror,
nestled amidst canopied forests of the Sahyadri hills, reflects the gorgeous
image of Mount Kalsubai, the highest peak in Maharashtra.

The Lake Authur is bridled by the Wilson Dam that is a powerful testimony to
the engineering skills of days gone by. The dam stands 150 m high and is the
largest earthen dam in India and one of the oldest in Asia built way back in
1910. The waters exiting the sluice gates of the dam cascades down 45 meters of
a granite rocky gorge, forming the third largest falls in India named - The
Randha Falls.

Not far from Bhandardara one can drink in the solitary splendour of Konkan Kada
- a cliff that overlooks the Konkan. Here an amphitheatre of twisted peaks,
whittled by water and wind, saw-tooth the sky. The wind at Konkan Kada is so
strong that water actually flies upwards when thrown.

Bhandardara has a special rustic charm that makes it a refreshing getaway for
both adventure seekers as well as the not-so-active tourists. Here you can
relax in nature's cradle and gaze out dreamily over a placid lake encircled by
hills from all sides or bathe under the numerous numerous waterfalls it is
dotted with. You get a taste of rural Maharashtra with a good dose of nature in
all its glory. Hence Bhandardara is the chosen destination for GayBombay's
Glorious 10th Anniversary Picnic.
