(e.g., http://incubator.apache.org/projects/cloudstack.html) Podlings don't usually use that status page as their homepage, I'd expect cloudstack.org to redirect to http://incubator.apache.org/cloudstack/ - the sooner the better IMO, and in the meantime you could indicate at cloudstack.org that that site is moving to apache.org soon. 2. We will not be able to move everything (user forum, etc.) on cloudstack.org to the official Apache project page. After we setup the redirect can we move the old content on cloudstack.org to a new website hosted by Citrix? Are there any rules on how a third-party Apache project user site can be named?... See http://www.apache.org/foundation/marks/ - assuming the CloudStack trademark is being donated to the ASF as part of incubation, Citrix's forums for Apache CloudStack is fine as that makes it clear what is what, whereas Cloudstack user forums would be confusing as it lets people believe that those forums are official ASF forums. Another aspect is the community fragmentation, if you send people to outside forums instead of the Cloudstack users list, you might end up with half the community in each place. -Bertrand - To unsubscribe, e-mail: general-unsubscr...@incubator.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: general-h...@incubator.apache.org

Re: New challenges (Was: NOMINATIONS for Incubator PMC Chair)
I nominate Chris Mattmann. He's been a positive presence in the incubator for years. It seems to me that the IPMC char has to both guide the work of the group and also channel the Foundation's policies and the board's wants and needs, and he is well-position to do all these things. Graduate with blocked release?

Re: How to handle non-OS jars in repository
We have a situation with CloudStack where we have some jars that we do not know our distribution rights. If it turns out that we do not have the right to distribute them (Apache compatibility aside) what course of action should we take? On Mon, Oct 1, 2012 at 1:26 PM, Upayavira u...@odoko.co.uk wrote: Note, podlings are free to check in IP that is dubious from a *policy* perspective (i.e. incompatible with Apache License), but should not, as I see it, check in anything that is dubious from a *legal* one (i.e. it is not and should not be public, or we don't have *any* rights to distribute). While we may not consider putting stuff into SVN as publishing or distributing, others might not agree with that. I've not heard of anyone demanding us to remove something from SVN entirely, and I believe that would be a very painful exercise. Best is to make sure it is only license compatibility issues that exist before code is checked in. Fwd: Incubator PMC/Board report for Oct 2012 ([ppmc])

I had seen the earlier reminder, but had not made a calendar event for it. So when the 24 hour reminder came in, along with a quick draft that was posted before I checked my email, I felt a little blindsided. Would be nice to have the final call reminder come in 72 hours before the deadline, as is customary in Apache.
