Remove user logo wall to a submenu

2021-12-14 Thread 陈明雨
Hi All:

As required by Apache IPMC[1], we need to move the User Logo Wall from Homepage
to a submenu.
A PR[2] has been submitted to change this.

Now we can view the user cases or user logo from the sidebar "Doris User" menu.

HI,

This needs to stop, you should only be working on the code at the Apache repo
and have no others. Please put in place plans to move development across to the
ASF entirely and delete that other repo.

This causes all sorts of issues around IP. For instance, have the contributors
to the other repos signed ASF ICLAs?

2021-12-14 Thread Dave Fisher
When we first discussed this Futurewei project a year before incubation I
thought I made it clear that growing your community is an important part of the
Incubation process.

You must do that on the dev@ mailing list. When it’s time to discuss
contributors who should become committers or PPMC members you must discuss them
on private@bluemarlin - a year and half later NO ONE (despite earlier prompts)
has subscribed to private@ except for Sheng Wu.

If you are serious about Incubation you need to discuss these issues
proactively with your mentors on your apache mailing lists.

Hi all,

I also posted a thread here about the logo wall and powered by page:

We need to be careful when using other organizations' logos.

Subject: BlueMarlin project appears to be inactive

Hi Sebb,

This regarding activities on Bluemarlin project.

We are maintaining 2 opensource repositories for Bluemarlin, one is in
Futurewei account and the other in Apache accounts.

apache/incubator-bluemarlin: Apache BlueMarlin
(github.com)

Futurewei-io/blue-marlin: Blue Marlin is a critical web infrastructure for
advertising based monetization. It is a cloud platform that adds intelligence
to a plain Ad System.
(github.com)

We maintain both repositories in parallel and they both have the same amount of
code commits. Because we have not found a way to migrate all the issues from
Futurewei account to Apache account, we could not focus on one repository. It
seems that having this separation caused some issues in term of showing the
project activities. To follow your comments, we are focusing to use Apache
account from now on (ignoring existing issue lists). We will update its wiki
and ask our contributors to add their issues to the new repository from now on.

We are going to configure Apache mailing list so that participant receive
notification emails on commits and pull-requests.

We don't have a website yet. We will be working on it.

The reasons that we didn't pay attention to these items you mentioned, was
because we thought committing code and submitting quarterly report are
sufficient for the incubation process.

Best,

Reza.

Hello Incubator Community, The Apache DataLab community has voted on and
approved a proposal to release Apache DataLab (incubating) version 2.5.1.
We now kindly request the Incubator PMC members review and vote in this
release. DataLab is a platform for creating self-service, exploratory data
science environments in the cloud using best-of-breed data science tools.

exploratory environments. It allows teams to spin up analytical
environments with just a single click of a mouse. Once established, the
environment can be managed by an analytical team itself, leveraging simple
