Re: IP clearance officer for accepting Terraform

2021-07-19 Thread paul_a
Thanks Justin,

We believe that we have now. They are mostly from the same person/company,
but as they're going to go into two distinct repos, and do different things
- one is a library which can facilitate a whole load of things including the
other the feature in the other repo. I'm leaning towards two forms to keep
the index.xml file in a consistent format.

Kind regards

Hi,

Assume we have enough information abut the provanance and they are from the
same person/company I think one form is OK, but it may be easier to manage
with two forms.

Thanks,
Justin

FW: IP clearance officer for accepting Terraform

2021-07-16 Thread paul_a
Hi, me again,

To recap; We (the CloudStack Project) are bringing in some Terraform plugin
code to pick up its ongoing development and maintenance. It's split into two
discrete repos in its external form, and will be keep in two discrete repos
under the Apache repos. There are different committers to the two repos (but
with a large overlap).

Do these need separate IP Clearance forms ?

Secretary only handles the books here; I don't make the call as to whether or
not an IP donation is valid. That would be the job of the IPMC or the
respective PMC if a top level project makes that call.

FW: IP clearance officer for accepting Terraform

2021-07-14 Thread paul_a
Sorry, me again.

As these two codebases are being brought over into two separate repos, and
referred to as distinct entities, do they need separate Codebase IP Clearance
XML files and then separate entries in index.xml ?

Kind regards

There are two codebases referred in the new git repositories:

CloudStack Terraform Provider:
https://github.com/xanzy/terraform-provider-cloudstack to be imported at
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack-terraform-provider

CloudStack Go SDK: https://github.com/xanzy/go-cloudstack to be imported at
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack-go (this one is required by the Terraform
provider as a library)

Regards.

Please could some one give me the exact way that the Terraform code is going to
be referred to, I’ve seen a few different ones.

eg

- Terraform Provider and Go SDK

- CloudStack Terraform Provider

- CloudStack Terraform

- Terraform Provider CloudStack

Hi Paul,

The IP clearance officer needs to do that after due diligence of the outline
XML file, so I only committed the cloudstack-terraform.xml outline file but did
not add it to the index.xml. Let me know if you need assistance in doing that
(i.e. unable to svn commit?).

Regards.

Hi All,

After committing the cloudstack-terraform.xml file, the next step is to 'add
a row to the table at incubator/public/trunk/content/ip-clearance/index.xml'.
I couldn't find a row for ' cloudstack-terraform.xml' in the index.xml file.
Is it staring me I the face or has it not been done?

I've added it as another step in
https://github.com/apache/cloudstack/issues/5159 for tracking.

Kind regards

Paul Angus
