Hi there. On our website, we have a few sections of content we would like people to
be able to search, including:

* Mailing Lists  /mailinglists/archives/
* Presentation   /presentations/
* Meeting Minutes/meeting/past/
* All of the above /
* Everything EXCEPT
  Mailing Lists

Right now, the first four are trivial. I simply provide a pulldown menu for the "ul"
form variable which looks something like:

Entire Site
Mailing Lists
Presentations
Meeting Minutes

It's the last one which is giving me difficulty. I tried a number
of things so far, including:

   Tags - Couldn't seem to get anything tag-related to work!
   Categories - Ditto
   "ue" URL Exclude variable - Doesn't seem to be supported!?
   "~" Not-ing the URL - eg,

What can I do? I thought Tags or Categories would be the solution... Doing something
like this in the "indexer.conf" file:

  Server http://lugod.org/

  Tag 1
  Server http://www.lugod.org/mailinglists/archives/

etc. Or trying "Realm" and a regexp. Or SOMETHING. :^(

Help!  Thanks!

should I use 'site' or 'path'?

Webboard: DBMode

Hi,

Couple of questions, first I have an htdb indexer running and this works fine with the
default DBMode. However, if I set DBMode to anything else (tried crc-multi) I can no
longer index anything. I set the DBMode in both indexer.conf and search.htm but to no
avail.

The second question I have is on following links in indexed content (still within
htdb). I don't want the indexer to follow URLs found within each document.
Unfortunately, the format of the URLs in the documents is the same as that generated
by my DBList query, so the Realm command I'm using (without which the initial document
list is not built from DBList) matches links found within each document and hence
follows the link (hope this makes sense). Is there any way around this?

Here's my current indexer.conf file for reference.

Many thanks,
Matt

In the documentation for v3.1.19 I have found the following:

Document charset detection

indexer detects document character set in this order:

1) "Content-type: text/html; charset=xxx"
2)
3) Defaults from "Charset" indexer.conf command (user preferences)

Where does the charset in the server table fit into this?

Thanks

No, no! You don't have to change it! I just wanted
to ask what is written there? This line exlpains
whether configure found system strndup() function.
It seems it did. Now we have to find the reason of
warnings. string.h will help.

Sorry. I don't know. I've never seen this before.
Probably something specific to Cobalt Raq4 ld?

It is on initial stage on development. Just try.
If it works for you, use it.

It appeared in 3.2.x only.
