[gentoo-user] freeradius rlm_unix and gentoo

2004-02-12 Thread Bobby R . Cox
Has anyone been able to get this to work correctly? Meaning when
starting freeradius in Gentoo with the unix module enabled I get the
error ..

radiusd.conf[547] Failed to link to module 'rlm_unix': file not found

As per freeradius this a linker issue with Gentoo Libraries.

I have compiled from source and disable shared libraries, but still get
the same error.I have even tried to copy the libs from the source
modules directory into /usr/lib and /usr/local/lib and /lib/.
I've tried this...

ldconfig -l -v /usr/lib/rlm_unix*

ldconfig: Ignored file /usr/lib/rlm_unix-0.9.3.la since it is not a
regular file.
rlm_unix-0.9.3.so - rlm_unix-0.9.3.so
ldconfig: /usr/lib/rlm_unix.a is not an ELF file - it has the wrong
magic bytes at the start.

ldconfig: No link created since soname could not be found for
/usr/lib/rlm_unix.a
ldconfig: /usr/lib/rlm_unix.la is not an ELF file - it has the wrong
magic bytes at the start.

ldconfig: No link created since soname could not be found for
/usr/lib/rlm_unix.la
ldconfig: /usr/lib/rlm_unix.lai is not an ELF file - it has the wrong
magic bytes at the start.

ldconfig: No link created since soname could not be found for
/usr/lib/rlm_unix.lai
ldconfig: Ignored file /usr/lib/rlm_unix.so since it is not a regular
file.

Any insight or help would be greatly appreciated.

I am pretty sure openbox needs to be loaded last. What version are you
running ob2 or ob3. In ob3 you can type openbox3 --replace once gnome
is launched then save your gnome session upon exit and next time it will
load openbox rather then metacity.

When I used to run gnome and ob2, this was my .xinitrc

gnome-panel
nautilus
exec openbox

In the future it will block IP addys as well.

Although I am sure that I heard of something as described in my previous

not sure if this would stop the problem if it cannot connect to the server yet.

Subject: [gentoo-user] problem finding network card?

Hi all -

I tried to scan the forum for this, but the forum appears to be down...

I still consider myself a newbie, though I've made a few successful
linux
installs already (a couple gentoo), so this is hopefully something
easily
resolved.

When I installed gentoo before, I had no problem just following the
instructions and getting everything to work, but now I can't seem to
find
eth0.

I run net-setup, and take the static IP route, and it accepts everything

just fine, but when net-setup exits, it complains that it can't find
eth0.

I have, in fact, two ethernet connections, but apparently, neither one
is
found.

Can anybody suggest anything?

Thanks,
  Brian
