Hum... I never tried, but I'd expected it to sort of... half work.
You make a WFS GetFeature request to a format that is defined to transfer
data into your database, the transfer might happen succesfully, but then
the WFS request will fail because no output file is generated.

Something to try I guess.

[Geoserver-users] ogr2ogr

2014-07-08 Thread cmaul
Hello,

the answer is probably 'No', but just to make sure:

Is there any way to use the ogr2ogr integration in Geoserver to draw from
the Geoserver data sources into your own database?
I've defined the file formats available (MAP, MIF, GDB, DXF etc.), however I
have been asked whether streaming from my into another DB is possible.

Cheers

[Geoserver-users] ogr2ogr and FileGDB

2012-09-10 Thread Kolomeitz Shaun
Hi GeoServer Users,

I am using GeoServer 2.2 RC2 on Debian "squeeze" x64 and am having some
difficulties getting the OGR output format to recognise and work with
anything other than the "standard" file formats.

I have recompiled ogr2ogr and checked that the format I am trying to use
is listed as supported (which it is), and have created an ogr2ogr.xml
file in the geoserver/data directory -

  /usr/local/bin/ogr2ogr
  /usr/local/gdal_data

  FileGDB
  FileGDB
  .gdb
  false

I am getting the following error and assume there is some magic required
to get it to work ?

2012-09-03 10:44:32,872 ERROR [wfs.response] - Error reading the

Re: [Geoserver-users] ogr2ogr extension problem

2012-05-21 Thread mano3688
Hi,

can you try in this way.

( you can download jar file based on geoserver version).

you can download jar file from the link
http://sourceforge.net/projects/geoserver/files/GeoServer%20Extensions/2.1.1/geoserver-2.1.1-ogr-plugin.zip/download.

And then put jar file into C:\Tomcat7.0.19\webapps\geoserver\WEB-INF\lib
directory.

After that yo have to write xml file and then put into
C:\Tomcat7.0.19\webapps\geoserver\data.

ogr2ogr.xml

   C:\Program
Files\FWTools2.4.7\bin\ogr2ogr.exe
  C:\Program Files\FWTools2.4.7\data

  MapInfo File
  OGR-TAB
  .tab

  MapInfo File
  OGR-MIF
  .mif
  -dsco
  FORMAT=MIF

  CSV
  OGR-CSV
  .csv

  KML
  OGR-KML
  .kml

Finally you restart the tomcat server and the check.
(e.g)
Export kml file
window.open('http:localhost:8080/geoserver/panama/wms?service=WFS&srs=EPSG:4326&version=1.0.0&request=GetFeature&typeName='+exportContextMenu+'&outputFormat=OGR-KML','_parent');

Ah, forgot one thing, the proper way to declare a single file format that will
be zipped is:

  KML
  OGR-KML-ZIP
  .kml

The file extension is the one that will be generated by ogr2ogr, the mime type
is not necessary since the output is going to be a zip file

Re: [Geoserver-users] OGR2OGR Zip files corrupt

2011-02-10 Thread Roger Bedell
Morning everyone,

This is still an issue.

I've narrowed this down some more. It is quite easy to reproduce using the
latest nightly build, standard data, 32 bits (or 64)

1) Set up ogr2ogr using these instructions:
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/extensions/ogr.html

2) Create an OGR2OGR.XML file with just a zipped and unzipped KML in the
default data directory that looks like this:

  C:\Program Files
(x86)\FWTools2.4.7\bin\ogr2ogr.exe
  C:\Program Files (x86)\FWTools2.4.7\data

  KML
  OGR-KML-ZIP
  .zip
  application/zip

  KML
  OGR-KML
  .kml
  true
  application/vnd.google-earth.kml

3) Start GeoServer. From the Demo Requests - wfs - select the
"WFS_getFeatureBetween-1.1.xml" sample request.

4) Modify it slightly to read

Hi again,

This time, it seems the zip file coming back from the ogr2ogr output is
unreadable. This is on a 64 bit Win2008 server, 64 bit JDK, latest nightly
build.

I tested this using this request against our server (you can try it too!):

http://204.62.18.181:8080/geoserver/wfs

http://ogi.state.ok.us"; xmlns:xsi="
http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"; xsi:schemaLocation="
http://www.opengis.net/wfs  http://schemas.opengis.net/wfs/1.1.0/wfs.xsd";
xmlns:ogc="http://www.opengis.net/ogc"; xmlns:wfs="http://www.opengis.net/wfs";
xmlns:gml="http://www.opengis.net/gml";>

the_geom
http://www.opengis.net/gml";>

   36.129833547944 -97.739353179937 36.129833547944
-97.620220184329 36.188044089569 -97.620220184329 36.188044089569
-97.739353179937 36.129833547944 -97.739353179937

and again, this time using outputFormat="OGR-KML".

In the ogr2ogr.xml I have:

  KML
  OGR-KML-ZIP
  .kml

  KML
  OGR-KML
  .kml
  true

No errors in the log. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Roger

Yeah, tracked it down to a operating system specific issue:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-4204

What can I say, open source on Windows is not exactly a match made in
heaven.
But oh well, we try to make it work anyways.
Try tomorrow's nightly build, it should contain a fix to make it work on
windows as
well

[Geoserver-users] OGR2OGR WFS output seems broken in 2.1 Beta 1

2010-10-27 Thread Roger Bedell
Hopefully this has been fixed, I was unable to test the latest nightly.

To reproduce, set up the OGR2OGR Output Extension as usual in 2.1 Beta 1
(BTW, it is also broken in 2.02, works in 1.7.6).

Select the WFS_GetFeatureIntersects-1.1.xml Demo Request. Run it, it works
fine.

Next, add this outputformat: outputFormat="OGR-KML"

to the first line of the XML. It will look like this:

< ows:ExceptionReport version = " 1.0.0 "
  xsi:schemaLocation = " http://www.opengis.net/ows
http://localhost:8080/geoserver/schemas/ows/1.0.0/owsExceptionReport.xsd "
