You could go to Google images, and just steal one. :-) On Tue, 19 Nov 2002, Philippe Rousselot wrote: > Hi, > > Sorry this is somewhat out of topics. > > I am not a talented artist, and I am looking for drawing indicating that > the site is under construction. yellow cones, men at work sign etc. > (copyright notice will be restected) > > I am also looking for a nice 'made with Gimp' logo > > Thanks in advance > > Philippe > > ___ > Gimp-user mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user > -- Kate http://www.katewerk.com ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

Ah, you see - this is why you are not a talented artist. Creativity is a code word for "sophisticated theft". This is because your window manager is intercepting the keybindings and does not transmit them to gimp. solution: if you are using Enlightenment, Window Maker or Blackbox (and sons), there is a possibility by pressing ctrl (or shift) + alt+leftmouse button. Some other WM may also have this feature working. IIRC, KDE 3 is configured or can be configured from the KDE control center to behave this way. For KDE 2, it's a little more tricky, but I guess if you are using Mdk 9.0, you won't use KDE 2. I think it all depends what you do with a program. I use probably 10% of the capability of each therefore for me they are equals. there is nothing that I used to do with photoshop that is not feasable by gimp and vise versa therfore they are equals. beside working under a linux environment. I have a 2Ghz PC and therefore do not see much of a difference in the execution time, etc, etc, I guess you got my point. Now I would be a pro and would need a CMYK coded image instead of an RGB image, what program would I choose ? Does anyone know if there are sites that feature downloads in the native gimp file format(.xcf). Ive seen that some sites ( http://www.guistuff.com )have .psd and other files available so users can customize premade graphics, but I've yet to find that for the Gimp. Drawing a Box 1. Choose the rectangle select tool. 2. Draw a box that matches the borders you want. 3. Fill the box with the FG color (Edit->Fill->Foreground or control-comma) 4. Choose Select->Shrink. 5. Fill the box with the BG color (Edit->Fill->Background or control-period). 6. You have a rectangle with a border the foreground color filled with BG color. Drawing a long line 1. With pencil tool (brush if you want fuzzy edges to the line), select the start point. 2. Holding down the shift key, select the end point. ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

You might want to check out dia. The interface is much like gimp, but it does much like what you're looking for. Flowcharts, electrical circuits and such. If that's not what you need, there's a great straight line tutorial here: http://www.gimp.org/~sjburges/straightline/straightline.html Ariel Kass wrote: hi i'd like to know how i can draw a diagram with straight lines and boxes with gimp. i've searched around but the closest i could get was how to draw pixels with paint brush - this doesn't help me much when trying to make lone straight lines Ariel Kass __ Do you Yahoo!?
