[Gimp-user] Bug Reports
Hi Is there a simple way of repoting a bug? Can I just post it here? Cheers david ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
Re: [Gimp-user] Bug Reports
Hi, david wrote: Is there a simple way of repoting a bug? Can I just post it here? The GIMP uses a database-backed bug tracking package called Bugzilla. This allows us to keep track of the history of bugs, and know which ones are fixed, when we would like the unfixed ones to be fixed, and so on. We share this with GNOME, and the URL is http://bugzilla.gnome.org To enter a bug, you will need a bugzilla account. This is a very easy process - when you ask to enter a bug (click on the New link), if you're not logged in you will be asked for a log-in and password, or be offered the possibility of signing up. To enter a bug against the GIMP, click New, then GIMP, and in the following (horrible looking) page, select a Component, enter a summary and a description. The rest of the stuff on this page doesn't need to be filled in, and probably shouldn't be filled in most of the time. And that's it. Guidelines for writing good bug reports are available here... http://bugzilla.gnome.org/bug-HOWTO.html Cheers, Dave. -- David Neary, Lyon, France E-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

Hi, On Sat, 2004-01-10 at 11:07, david wrote: Is there a simple way of repoting a bug? Can I just post it here? The simplest way is to point your browser to http://bugs.gimp.org and follow the steps there. The GIMP uses GNOME Bugzilla to keep track of bugs, enhancement requests etc. Please check if your bug has been reported before prior to posting a new bug. If you're looking for a more detailed description please take a look at http://mmmaybe.gimp.org/bugs/howtos/bugzilla.html Hope this helps. Hi Gary, Gary Montalbine wrote: I am able to select a tool and use it on the image. However I can not deselect the tool. I close the dialog box but the tool icon is still in the image. I can change to another tool but I still cannot close one so that there is no icon in the image. The GIMP will always have exactly one active tool. The default tool is the rect select tool - perhaps this is what you are expecting? Perhaps a no-op tool might be an idea (a pointer that does nothing except point). I'n not sure... Anyway, it doesn't currently exist :) I am just starting to use GIMP. I have partially restored one black and white photo so far. It looks like it will be a rewarding challenge Hope this helps, and enjoy the adventure. I can change to another tool but I still cannot close one so that there is no icon in the image. The fuzzy select regions was particularly annoying. I have read and reread the documentation but cannot find the answer. How do I get rid of the tool icon when done with it? Sorry, but I don't understand what you are trying to do. There is always exactly one tool selected. Why would you want to deselect it? Having a tool selected shouldn't hurt in any way. Perhaps you can make another attempt at describing your problem. Just noticed that it had not been sent to the list. Thanks for the help. I was afraid that with an active tool that I was not really using that I might accidently mess up the image. I feel better now that I understand what is going on. [Gimp-user] gimp-help-2 .. xi:include
Docbook is nearly as difficult as fonts! Tried making the latest CVS cd ../html/C /usr//bin/xsltproc --xinclude --nonet ../../stylesheets/plainhtml.xsl ../../src/gimp.xml Writing gimp-xrefs-en.xml for book(GIMP) No template matches xi:include in chapter. and 100s more of No template matches xi:include The URL here book id=GIMP xmlns:xi=http://www.w3.org/2003/XInclude; doesn't seem to point to anything specific but you can find an XML schema for the XI namespace by hunting around that site. Google is not much help. Would be most grateful for any clues. -- Owen ___ Gimp-user mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.xcf.berkeley.edu/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
