[Gimp-user] [BULK] Circular Graphics
Thanks, Rich. That worked great. But now I'm having trouble placing this circular logo onto my graphic. I copied it to the clipboard then pasted it as a separate layer in my graphic, then sized the layer to the image size, but I can't get the text to show on the top of the graphic. I must be missing a very basic step but can't seem to figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Maureen Maureen wrote: how to add curved text to the circular graphic. That is easy. This worked like a charm, Patrick. Thanks for the help. Now I have to practice on how to add curved text to the circular graphic. Thanks again. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. Maureen If you want to cut a circle out of the middle of it: 1. make sure there is alpha in the image so we can save a square image that looks like a circle 2. make a circular selection with the ellipse selection tool (hold shift to ensure a circle) 3. invert the selection, (press ctrl+i) this selects everything but the circle so we can delete it 4. delete (just press the delete key) 5. invert the selction (ctrl+i again), this selects the circle again 6. crop to selection (Image-Crop to Selection) 7. canvas size to selection (Image-Fit Canvas to Selection) 7b. optionally now, depending on your application, you can feather the selection to make a more gradual edge. You can play with the number of pixels and use ctrl+z to undo in between. 8. Save it/Export it with a new name. [Gimp-user] How do I change text color in existing object?
I've been getting the digest from this user list and I'm completely confused. I've also submitted a question but received no response. I read in the latest Digest that this is a mailing list, not a message board. I don't understand the difference, and I don't understand how problems that are presented and answered are mailing list items as opposed to a forum/message board that addresses problems. Am I using the wrong service to obtain help in using Gimp? An explanation would be helpful, instead of just dead air. My most recent issue was about being able to select text in an existing object and change its color without having to do the graphic all over again. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP2 with Firefox. I have an animated .GIF file combined with a .JPEG file and with a text box. I need to change the color of the text only, and want to make it as simple as possible. I have been unable to select the text in the text box in order to change it, although the text toopl box opens correctly, but I can't get any of the items in it to work. I made a copy of the original picjj Any clarification and/or help you can give me would be appreciated. Thanks. [Gimp-user] Text tool
I'd like to add to Chris Mohler's comment about centering text. I am having trouble with the text tool also. I have a graphic that contains an animated GIF, an un-animated .JPEG and text. It is perfect the way it is. But I want to copy it and change the color of the text to use against a different background in Incredimail's Letter Creator. I have been unable to get the color to change and now my copy of the original has the text blinking instead of steady. I can get the text tool box open, but I can't get the text selected in order to apply what I have in the tool box. Also, the tool box won't keep the color change; it keeps reverting back to the original color. I'm running Windows XP SP2 with Firefox. Thanks for any help you can give me. [Gimp-user] Gimpshop crashes
Gimpshop keeps crashing on me before I even get started. It gives me an error message about not being able to set up a font and then terminates. I have installed it again, but still no luck. How do I get around this so I can use the product? Thanks. Maureen ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
