[Gimp-user] Biggest Frustration
My biggest frustration with GIMP is the complete lack of a general object selection tool. Not having an "arrow" tool is counter intuitive to the way we've been taught since the Faraday saw the first semiconductor claw its way into visibility in 1833. ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user

[Gimp-user] Listequette
May I offer a respectful and kind suggestion to all? When replying to a message, please cut as much of the original message is not relevant to your reply. This is especially true when saying thank you - so readers don't have to page down through several messages just to see a very brief message. Interweb "Listequette" suggest that quoted material shoule be no more than 20% of the new material. Like all rules there will be many good reasons for exceptions, but "you get the idea." I'm a Windows user; my original question was with relation to that platform. - Original Message - From: Dotan Cohen To: Martin Nordholts Cc: gimp-user@lists.xcf.berkeley.edu Date: Fri, 30 Apr 2010 16:00:12 +0300 Subject: Re: [Gimp-user] Fw: Re: toolbox > > Is this available in the 2.7.0 development snapshot? Is there no way to dock these darn things onto the main drawing window? [Gimp-user] Windows help files
The wording about http://www.gimp.org/windows/ is kinda vague about where to get the installable help files for Windows user. May I kindly suggest that the wording, "Note that the user manual is an extra package; make sure that you get it as well." be changed to "Note that the Windows user manual is an extra package downloadable from http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html ; make sure that you get it as well." ? [Gimp-user] Gimp help pages (Windows)
The page at http://www.gimp.org/windows/ says "It is highly recommended that you install the help files (GIMP User Manual) that are provided as a separate package (see above). The documentation is also available online," but it doesn't provide a link to whatever one needs to download to obtain the help files or any instructions on how to do so, and the info at http://www.gimp.org/docs/ isn't helpful either. That second page does say "GIMP comes with a built-in help system," but this seems to be inconsident with the need to install help pages. Where can we download the help pages and how are they installed? ___ Gimp-user mailing list Gimp-user@lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU https://lists.XCF.Berkeley.EDU/mailman/listinfo/gimp-user
