rpm's?

2001-01-08 Thread Jan Theofel

Hello,

some days ago someone posted here a link to RPM files for Gimp 1.2. I
downloaded them, but obviously the files are damaged, that means I can't
install them.

And as always: I deleted this mail too early. :-(

Can someone please send me again the link?

Thanks,
Jan

Re: Monitor / Graphics Card help

2001-01-08 Thread VosSedai

Hi Im not a professional or anything but I do run both blender and
gimp
with gnome/sawfish and so far as my experience goes I would _really_
recommend more RAM although I believe the athlon has the 133mhz bus no? that
should expediate some stuff, nevertheless Im really not satisfied with less
than
196 :). The supported card issue should be checked through XFree for the
latest and greatest :) . So far as monitors for a reasonable price Sony is
great, very adjustable, great color, etc just figure, SGI use em so
:)
Anyway my 2 cents... salutations

Gamma correction don't work

2001-01-08 Thread Per Grahn

I have set "(gamma-correction 2.2)" in the file ".gimp-1.2/gimprc" but
gamma correction isn't
done om my images.

Do anyone have any suggestions ?

I am using gimp version 1.2, gtk+ version 1.2.8 on solaris 7 and 8, cpu
is sparc.
I have all kind of visuals available but the 8 bit Pseudovisual is the
default. Gimp seems to use
a 24-bit TrueColor visual, but not the linear one which is first in
reporting list from the X-server.
(hardware: SUN 10/440 with elite3D-3m)

(gamma-correction 2.2) have never worked for me in any previous version
of gimp (1.0.4 and 1.1.29).
I have tried it on my Linux box also with the same result. On this box
there is only one 24 bit
TrueColor visual available.

Please answer direct to my email as well as to the mailinglist.

RE: How to unsubscribe?

2001-01-08 Thread Kirsten

Hello Gimp users and list ADMINS,

I've also been trying to unsubscribe from this list for what must be almost
two years now -- and still no luck. I have used all the recommended methods
and I do get a confirmation of unsubscription or a 'you are not on this
list' depending on the solar flares it seems.

But as yet, I've never been unsubscribed.

I still get all the emails. Just like everyone else trying to unsubscribe.
I tried contacting the list owners but still no luck. Hence, I'm adding to
this thread hoping that by being terribly rude and annoying, someone may
actually check why people can't unsubscribe.

Help me please!

Kind regards (and apologies to normal list readers),
Kirsten.

P.S. If anyone has other contact points where we can reach the Admins and
ask for their help directly, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm not sure about Sawfish, but in WindowMaker a similar problem arises.
I fixed the problem here by changing the default windowmanager mouse binding key to
MOD4 (crusty windoze key), so now if i want to move a window (for example), I use
mod4(meta), not mod1(alt).

The simple solution I've found here is to hold down shift as well as alt in this case.
The window manager ignores the keystroke as shift is depressed, but Gimp still
respects it in this instance.

Repost: messed up screenshots

2001-01-08 Thread Arcady Genkin

I have posted about this in the past, but the problem is still not
solved. It's not that I need to do screenshots often, but... when I
do, they come up all messed up: some colors are missing, etc.

For an example please refer to http://www.thpoon.com/tmp/screen.jpg
As you can see, the background came out totally black, whereas it's
WindowMaker's default blueish BG. Also, the Gimp's own window is
quite seriously messed up. The text in the terminal window is not
visible. Also, if you look at the second icon down in the top-left
courner, you'll notice a line separating two areas of different
brightness.

I'm using Gimp 1.1.29, but the same thing has been happening with
1.0.X. The system is Debian 2.2 with stock XFree 3.3.6 IIRC.

Any help greately appreciated!
