No photo attached Stella.
I think you have to use a site like tiny URL and then post the link in your

Hello,
I have forgotten my username and password to the Gimp Forum/User List. If
someone could tell me how to reset this or reset this for me please.
Also, I purchased the workbook for Gimp and I have tried for 3 days to fix
a simple fix to a photo. If someone could crop and make my attached photo
clearer so I can post it to a web page I would be indebted to you.

Did you read the docs? They usually are very exaustive:

These days the text appears right on the image an you can edit it
there. If you like, in Tool Options when the text tool is active you
can click the little box, "Use text editor" to get a separate window.

Hi Ken,

On a Mac it's Command + or Command - to zoom in or out. For whatever reason it
doesn't work with the GIMP help browser. But now that I have the GIMP help as a
PDF I'm all set.

Great software. I just need to learn its secrets.

Thank you,

Re: [Gimp-user] Gimp-help needs contributors

2018-06-14 Thread Rick Strong

Hello Julien,

I will take a shot at doing a plain text and images GIMP-Help for these
four "Colors" features:

- Hue-Chroma
- Saturation
- Exposure
- Shadows-Highlights

We'll see how it goes after that.

Cheers,

Subject: [Gimp-user] Gimp-help needs contributors

Hello all,

One months ago, I asked for contributors in GIMP-help. I received
several answers, and some people got near to start. But finally, nothing
happens, candidates being discouraged by the complexity of git + gitlab
+ xml + gimp-help structure.

So, I propose you write documentation in plain text that I'll adapt to
xml and manage in git.

It must be plain text ( NotePad++ under Windows).

A general plan could be:

- Overview: what the feature does, what is it useful for?

- Options: description of every option, with examples if necessary.

- Example(s) of using the command, tool, filter.

Images preferably in Light theme and Color icon theme, and comments
preferably outside the image. If you use text layers, please supply the
xcf file (translators need it).

You could start with the Colors new features:

- Hue-Chroma

- Saturation

- Exposure

- Shadows-Highlights

- Linear Invert

- Auto/Color-Enhance

- Components/Extract Component

- Components/ Mono Mixer

- Desaturate/Color to Gray

- Map/Alien Map

- Tone Mapping/Fatal, Mantiuk, Reinhard, Stress

- Info/Export Histogram

- Dither

- RGB Clip

Helping this will suit you.

[Gimp-user] Gimp Help?

2015-01-16 Thread pamason1129

I deeply apologize if this isn't the right place for having problems with GIMP,
but I cannot find anywhere else to get software support on this.

I tried using the latest version of GIMP on my Macbook Pro (OS X 10.9.5
Mavericks 10.10.1 Yosemite) but it came with a serious problem with jagged
cursor and drawing movement. I never had this problem with GIMP 2.6, but this
latest version seems to have serious problems for me in which when I try to
draw a line with either my tablet pen or mouse, it comes out extremely jagged
and laggy. (I can provide a video example of what I'm experiencing if I'm not
being clear enough)

Is there any way to get better stabilization and less lag with this bad cursor
movement?

 Thank you,
 Patrick

You should be to change interface language via Edit - Preferences

versions of GIMP having a fix for Mac about that.

For the Windows version of 2.8 (not sure abut Linux for 2.8) it may also
need Edit|Preferences|Interface|Language to be set to the particular
language variant.
