Re: [Gmsh] split windows camera sync
Hi, Christophe! Great, I did'n know about any of these things (per window visibility and about this alt+click sync). In fact this alt+click functionality was not working for me on my ubuntu 16.04 because of common 'alt+click' ubuntu problem - this combination is used for window movement (perhaps, this is also true for earlier ubuntu versions, not sure). This is common known issue (not related to gmsh) but i never faced it before. To everyone who is concerned: simple workaround is to use Alt+Shift+Click (perhaps one also can turn off this windows movement feature, again - not sure). 2017-04-22 20:03 GMT+03:00 Christophe Geuzaine: > > Hi Oleg, > > You can display different models/post-processing views in different > windows or subwindows. Hi Oleg, You can display different models/post-processing views in different windows or subwindows. To synchronize the viewport, use "Alt+mouse click" on the rotation and/or scale button in the status bar. Currently there's no "live update" (you need to Alt+click to sync) - I've added this to our TODO list. I've uploaded a short video to show how the current multi-window stuff works: https://youtu.be/Bxc6kaoltOA Christophe > On 22 Apr 2017, at 17:13, Олег Рябковwrote: > > Hmm.. [Gmsh] split windows camera sync
Hmm.. Sorry, I forgot that it's impossible in gmsh to show different scenes in split windows (for example, several different postprocessing fields or geometry), so this makes my previous question pointless. In CFX it's possible to split window and show different scenes with synced cameras (for example temperature and velocity). I'm afraid it's too complicated for gmsh accounting the philosophy of interface and options. Anyway, gmsh is favorite tool in our lab, so we are glad that it's getting better. -- Best regards, Oleg ___ gmsh mailing list gmsh@onelab.info http://onelab.info/mailman/listinfo/gmsh
[Gmsh] split windows camera sync
Dear developers. Great job on gmsh 3.0, especially with boolean operations! Salome Platform - hold on, gmsh is getting cooler and cooler ;) My question is however not about new features but about old one - window split. It's pretty interesting and usable but sometimes it's more convenient to have this different windows cameras synchronized, so that manipulations in one are reflected in all others. CFX Workbench has this optional feature. Is it something that is hard to implement or you just never considered/did'n have time? If it's possible, consider possibility for this optional feature in future, please. Again, thank you for your efforts, great job. -- Best regard, Oleg ___ gmsh mailing list gmsh@onelab.info http://onelab.info/mailman/listinfo/gmsh
