Subversion migration finished
For those that haven't noticed, the subversion migration is now complete. In the end, it took about 49 hours. Apologies for the downtime involved. Except for 'www.gnome.org', the websites are not yet auto-updating from Subversion. I should get round to completing this in the next couple days (other work permitting), and will review and update the various CVS and Subversion related web and wiki pages then. Of course, it is now possible (ok, easier) to set up per-repo pre/post-commit hooks (inc commit-to-mail), so if anyone has any particular requests, please send them to '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'. If you have any suggestions for new global hooks, please send them to 'gnome-infrastructure@gnome.org'. Migration to subversion
Hi all, I was closely following the migration of gnome from cvs to subversion. Let me congratulate for the successful migration first However I still havent figured out how we would be able to upgrade our translation for the gnome. We had CVS commit access for the translation work and now am not sure whether we can commit our updates on svn with the same account or not. Is there a document on what needs to be done from our side? I also saw the branch for gnome 2.18 and we would be updating to it after committing a last updates on gnome 2.14. Hello, I keep getting these warnings when I check out from GNOME svn repository: svn: warning: cannot set LC_CTYPE locale svn: warning: environment variable LANG is sl_SI.UTF-8 svn: warning: please check that your locale name is correct These warnings appear only when I use developer checkout and not when I anonymously check out a module. In a matter of fact I live in Cuba, and I think there is no locale for my country available yet. Here we have a FLOSS community and I'm thinking on make a group to create our own locale, based on our country settings. Is it possible that, if we make it, it can be available for every system? The point is that we want to make the best effort and make it worth. Can anybody help us by giving us some resources and tips about how to do it and who to contact to make it widely available? I'm not an expert in that field, but I know some people on this mailing list would help you (Jordi Mallach or Danilo Segan are some of them). As far as I know, what you need is to define the locale data for your country and request glibc maintainers (http://sources.redhat.com/bugzilla/enter_bug.cgi?product=glibc) and belocs maintainers (The only contact I can give you for it is Martin Pitt [EMAIL PROTECTED], he would point you to the right place to submit your information). If you get your data in glibc and belocs, your locale should be available for every single distro. Also, I suggest you to submit it to the developers of your distro because that way you would get it deployed faster for testing purposes. Cheers. To checkout a module from 'HEAD' (now called 'trunk'), you'd now instead do: svn co svn+ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/svn/MODULE/trunk DIRECTORY eg. svn co svn+ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/svn/gtk+/trunk gtk+ To check it out from any other branch, you'd have to do: svn co svn+ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/svn/MODULE/branches/BRANCH DIRECTORY eg. svn co svn+ssh://[EMAIL PROTECTED]/svn/gtk+/branches/gtk-2-10 gtk+.gtk-2-10 When you update your translation in DIRECTORY/po (just like before, either using file from progress.gnome.org or using intltool-update on your translation), and add a ChangeLog entry, you commit them using 'svn ci': svn ci -m 'Updated LANGUAGE translation.' I'll be adding svn-commit hooks to be able to update status pages almost-real-time (i.e. they will be regenerated as soon as you commit your translation). It is not a serious one but it is quite an annoying one because I have to type ssh passphrase three times before it starts checking out. So if anyone knew what to do, I'd be very grateful. Quite a few files have warning icons saying they are not UTF8. They all have headers specifying UTF8, and were all UTF8-encoded when they left my machine. How do I fix this? 4.
