new rhythmbox release soon + zh_CN help translation problem

2008-07-05 Thread Jonathan Matthew
Hi,

I'll be making a new rhythmbox release (from svn trunk) on Monday at the
earliest. We won't make any string changes until after the release is
done.

Also, help/zh_CN/zh_CN.po in rhythmbox is currently causing distcheck
problems. The xml document produced from this file does not validate.
Line 1014 of the .po file contains text between the closing
'guimenuitem' tag and the closing 'menuchoice' tag:

msgstr
"要从电台清单中删除某个电台时,选择编辑删除删除。也可以右键单击>该电台,选择删除。"

which apparently is not allowed. If this is
not fixed by the time I make the release, I will simply remove the extra
text, which probably won't look very good.

thanks,
-jonathan.

Yes, continue to translate and attach your work to bugzilla reports, so
as it won't get lost.

Please file a bug report (unless you have already done so and just
forgot to include the bug number):

I added http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541665 as a request
for solving this catch-22 in Mango. Needs some Mango love; I hope that

Please read:
As a matter of fact I know there is a team (
http://l10n.gnome.org/teams/fa), But this team is useless.Meaningless
translations. Mr. Roozbeh Pournader
is just one person and doesn't accept anyone else to bacame a member of team
and help the translation of gnome project. He says " It's just me to
translate".
There are millions of Persian Linux users and just a person can translate
the gnome?

In Persian forums such as ( www.technotux.org "Alan Baghumian" ) which is
know between Persian Linux users, We have discussions about translations of
Mr. Pournader and at last every one figure outs that we should have a team
in gnome translation page to have a better translation instead of using
Pournaders' translations.

Dear Mohammad;

There's no possibelity to start a team that already exist. We have discussed
about it too much in Gnome Mailing List. If you have translated any po
file, submit it on
bugzilla(The
way we're doing right now).

Best Wishes

Please stop. You're spamming this list with "new team for Persian"
requests, even though you are aware that there is an existing team.
When confronted with the fact, you acknowledge that you know there is
a team, but come with diffuse and unsubstantiated accusations about
the current team.

If there is a problem with the current team, please clearly say so,
and objectively and clearly state the reasons why, without personal
accusations. Obfuscating this like you currently do as a "new team
request" will get you nowhere, except perhaps annoying all the people
that care. Period.

Please read the history of this mailing list.

It is very difficult to replace translation coordinator, if you don't have
history of translation work. Call it bad karma or lack of reputation.

If you want to improve Persian translations, start translating things and
file bug reports with your translations or send translation to translation
coordinator. You might not like current coordinator, but by attacking him
you won't reach your goals.

Translate things, build up reputation. Complain if you have something
translated and it is not added to Gnome software repository in reasonable
time frame.
