The string is from
https://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Design/Whiteboards/AuthorizationDialog
and showed when authentication fails. Jon McCann came up with it, so if
you need to change it probably best to talk to him (added as Cc). Feel
free to add a translator comment saying this or let me know if you want
me to do that.

Request for freeze-break in Gedit.
Hi,
I would like to request a hard-code freeze break for Gedit. The patch
modifies the signatures in some signals, and it's important and it
fixes some crashes experimented by python plugin when listening to
those signals.
There are no feature/ ui or string differences regarding this patch.

From the screenshots "Incorrect password. Please try again" seems sufficient.
If something more generic is needed wouldn't "Authentication failed.
Please try again" suffice?

I recommend staying with the current design and just adding a

My part of the patches, from https://mail.gnome.org/archives/gnome-shell-list/2011-March/msg00382.html, has been pushed now (commits da852a94bd336ffbe924adb192625cc69fe17441 and 4ebf07c725d72512c466731d2762baab2b88190e). As pointed out before, it introduces the string "firmware missing". "" on the other hand was already marked for translation in 2.91.92.
