If it's only a typo, you could fix it and then update the matching msgid
in all po files so that translators do not have to do anything. If you
do it that way, it's ok for i18n.

Now that network-manager-applet is listed in core modules of GNOME 3,
shouldn't it be also subject to freezes?

The string is from

 https://live.gnome.org/GnomeShell/Design/Whiteboards/AuthorizationDialog

and showed when authentication fails. Jon McCann came up with it, so if
you need to change it probably best to talk to him (added as Cc). Feel
free to add a translator comment saying this or let me know if you want
me to do that.

Request for freeze-break in Gedit.

2011-03-25 Thread jose.ali...@gmail.com
Hi,

I would like to request a hard-code freeze break for Gedit. The patch
modifies the signatures in some signals, and it's important and it
fixes some crashes experimented by python plugin when listening to
those signals.

There are no feature/ ui or string differences regarding this patch.

Greetings

José

From the screenshots "Incorrect password. Please try again" seems sufficient.
If something more generic is needed wouldn't "Authentication failed.
Please try again" suffice?

You remove that string again in a newer commit but for me this looks
like a "String not marked for translation" and as such this is no string
freeze break and no reason to remove that string again as it seems to be
user visible (or is it not?).

I'll point out that one of the patches adds the string "firmware
missing" to gnome-shell.
We think it is pretty important to have this string in there, since it
will help people to google for their network connectivity problem.
'unavailable' is too generic, if we have more concrete information
about what the problem is.
