So, having an online resource in-built on the web translation tools makes it consistent. Also, we have several roles: translator, proofreader and commiter. Hiding GNOME's infraestructure to plain translators may avoid them grow up and acquire knowledge about how translations workflow works. If I have a lot of translators but have no proofreaders nor commiters, workflow will be slower, and the number and the quality of the translations will fall down. Workflows followed here are for technical people, but not for translators, not for language experts or linguists who can give you the best quality translations. If you have lot of translators you should have proofreaders or committers. In the other hand, it has also benn commented above, Transifex doesn't work directly with the repo, so statistics are not reliable. As long as the translations are synced by the developers you should get the accurate stats. Not part of translators job to worry about. DL is good for me, and we can also improve it if we consider it's missing any feature, so +1 to DL. If DL has online translation features, +1 from me as well. Or even stronger, one idea is that modules can opt-in to having a file submodule-check which must change content for commits which update submodules. The downside of that is it would conflict on branch merges, but then again, the submodules would anyways. Any other thoughts? We are translators. We like to focus on translations. Tools or systems that ease the translation process for us would always be beneficial to not just translators community but also to the developers community seeking to ensure that their source code is not mistakenly being messed up by anyone unnecessarily. Having CVS earlier, we were able to checkout just the individual PO files we require and translate and submit them back easily. But later as majority agreed the decision to move to GIT came in. Many of us have adapted to work with git stuff, no doubt! But bringing easiest approach in this age of World Wide Web would be the best thing to do now. Communities like XFCE, Fedora, LibreOffice, Mozilla, etc are considering the web based systems to manage their translation efforts. We might want to evaluate the options available. How to change the default asignee for the language (Gujarati) component?
Hi, I have been co-ordinating Gujarati localization for Gnome since last couple of years after Mr. Nirav Mehta handed over it to me. Owner information has been changed on the language team page: http://l10n.gnome.org/languages/gu/ however new Gujarati bugs are still getting assigned to earlier co-ordinator by default. Is there a way to change the default asignee?
