Sorry guys, but the errors are not yet fixed. I fixed the 3 tag errors André mentioned here, but I still get this build error. And uploading Daniel's attached file did not work either. I also tried Daniel's gtxml -c command, but it does not work in Ubuntu. I will have to do further reading to try and get gtml working. Gateway error

"Ready for submission" (Klaar voor committen) I chose the file on my PC (button Browse) 2. "Reserve to submit" (Reserveren voor inzenden). ??? Here I should get "Submit to repository", but instead I get "Inform of submission" What I do NOT get is "Submit to repository". I have committed another translation (gnome-control-center) where I do get this step, and here all goes well. On https://gitlab.gnome.org/users/sign_in I can only sign in using the LDAP tab. When I go to Standard I cannot sign in (not with my git.gnome or gitlab.gnome account user name and password). So, yes, there is something wrong, but there may be a hundred reasons for this Permission denied. Both commands 'ssh -v myn...@git.gnome.org' and 'ssh -v myn...@gitlab.gnome.org' give me terminal output Permission denied. One of the reasons may be that my user name is different on git, gitlab and in my public key. Changing my user name in my gitlab User Settings is a risky business, so I will not try as yet. Changing my user name on my PC (git config --global user.name "newname") might be an option, but perhaps you can come up with a better solution? Many thanks in advance for your help. Hello, Following instructions on [1], I did the following: 1. git clone git://git.gnome.org/gthumb 2. git checkout gthumb-3-6 3. cd gthumb In gthumb/help I created a new folder /nl after which I copied nl.po (the help file) here. I also made some changes to gtumb/po/nl.po 4. After commands add and commit I got stuck when trying to push. The message is: fatal: Could not read from remote repository. Please make sure you have the correct access rights and the repository exists. Before doing all the above, I had signed in in gitlab with my ldap username and password. Have I overlooked something? Hello, As coordinator of the Gnome Dutch translation team I have a question on where to translate. At this moment one of our translators is working on the Dutch translation here: [1]. I (wrongly?) advised him to work here [1] instead of [2]. Can I merge nl.po master with nl.po 2.10 using msgmerge and upload the result to [2]? Or would it be better to copy (upload) /master/po/nl directly to 2-10? Will there be regular updates of the language packs in the distro's based on Gnome? As far as I was told, in those languages the nominative case is used normally in dates unless whole date is in a genitive case. However, the Serbian translator suggested that this would be still useful for their language even if this would cause changing almost all "%B" format specifiers to "%OB". [4] Alternatively, those languages may decide not to use this new feature. In case of Asturian, Catalan, and Walloon: the genitive case is created adding "de" before the month name which is changed to "d’" if the month name starts with a vowel (e.g., "d’abril" in Catalan). In those languages "de" would have to be removed from all format specifiers because the correct "de"/"d’" prefix would be already contained in "%B" format specifier. In all other languages the change seems to be obviously correct and expected but, again, I don't want to change anything without asking the language communities about their opinion. Also, CLDR suggests that the languages which do not need the nominative/genitive case can use this feature to display the month name capitalized when it is standalone (e.g., "Enero" in Spanish) and lowercase when it is used in a full date (e.g., "20 de enero"). CLDR provides the different lowercase/uppercase month names for these languages: Albanian, Azerbaijani, Bosnian, Chechen, Galician, Italian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Spanish (only Peru and Uruguay, I really don't understand why), Turkmen, Uzbek. Note that these lists may be incomplete. Please find and review my proposed changes in my github repo. [6] I'm sorry for this kinda off-topic post because this is not directly about GNOME but I was told that this list is the best place to find a diverse community of translators. Also note that glibc is the base library for almost all Linux software, definitely including GNOME. See also the related glib2 bug [7]. In Ubuntu, Unity has been replaced by the Gnome environment. I now see that many strings are not translated, but I cannot find where to translate them. Example: Settings > Dock > Auto-hide the Dock I tried the following command: :~$ grep -R "Auto-hide the Dock" /usr/share/locale* and grep -R "Auto-hide the Dock" but I get nothing in return. I have checked gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-shell. These are fully translated. My current approach is to provide separate translations for singular and plural, but I guess this way of doing this will never be entirely ngettext-ly correct. - As a little extra complication, the ingredients list is alphabetically sorted, with a sidebar for jumping to sections by letter. I've made the alphabet that is used for the sidebar translatable, so you can add umlauts and whatever other characters might be relevant for your language. Alexandre Franke suggested to keep translations for ingredients in a separate domain. Do you think that would be helpful ? Hello, At this moment we are finishing translations for gnome 3.22 (master, development). At the same time we are looking at the last stable version 3.20 to see if there are still unfinished translations. I have a question about gnome-software. https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/1608/903/94 this is gnome-software >> master >> Dutch I have the finished translation on my pc, gnome-software-master.nl.po (I think it was 3.20 then). In the header of these 2 files I see "Project-Id-Version: gnome-software gnome-3-16\n". Why gnome-3-16, if it actually is 3.20 and 3.22? Now I am not sure what is best: merge the 2 files with msgmerge or upload the finished translation on my pc to https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/1608/903/94. As for the branch names, I have the following question: On https://l10n.gnome.org/languages/nl/gnome-3-22/ui/, under the header Branch I see either master or gnome-3-22. For brasero master the location is https://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/brasero/master/po/nl. When, under Used in release(s), I click on GNOME 3.22 (development) it links to https://l10n.gnome.org/languages/nl/gnome-3-22/ui/. Is my conclusion right in saying that, at this moment, /master/po/nl and /gnome-3-22/po/nl are the same? And when I see gnome-3-22 it means that the master branch has not yet been created (see orca)? Here it is the same problem. Only after choosing "Rework needed" > send, do I get the options "sync-to-master" and "Commit author: " I really wonder why. On top of that, with another file in gnome 3.18, I had to use "Rework needed" to get only one of these options, namely "Commit author: ". The option "sync-to-master" was not there. Master, which version?
Sometimes I get confused about which version gnome Master is. Is Master always the newest development version? I have just updated the Dutch translation of gnome-control-center Master. Since gnome 3.18 is now stable, I thought this was gnome 3.20, but when I enter the command git branch -a I see that gnome-3-18 is not listed (conclusion: 3.18 = Master). Most of the GIMP translation files reside in one repository ("gimp")
under different directories: po, po-libgimp, po-plug-ins, po-python,
po-script-fu, po-tags, po-tips. Only gegl, gimp-gap and gimp-tiny-fu
have separate git repositories (but they are lower priority anyway).
