Re: Re[2]: How to commit a translation for freedesktop.org project? (fprintd - Interlingua)
Yeah, totally skimmed the body of the message. Sorry. 1) How to add 'ia' in the LINGUAS file? Answer is: Since you don't have access to commit changes, you need to break the inertia of the maintainer of fprintd asking to add the code 'ia' in LINGUAS and also to commit your translation. If you want to certify that it is all ok, you can 'clone' the GIT repo locally, add your translated PO file, change the LINGUAS file and then run ./autogen.sh make... If no error is presented, you should find a 'ia.mo' or 'ia.gmo' in fprintd/po/'. 2) Will the statistics at DL change eventually? D.L. shows the current stats of the source code repository. If the maintainer submits your translations and fix the LINGUAS file, D.L. will eventually display the new status of the translation your language team. Please notice that Transifex works differently of D.L., as the former one shows what translators provided and not what is in source code currently. So, for example: If you submit translation file to Transifex, 'ia' will be 100% in Transifex but maintainer didn't commit the PO file to the repository yet. In this case, D.L. would not display 100% because the respository is not 100%. Thanks in advance, Rafael Ferreira 2013/1/28 Nicolas Delvaux cont...@nicolas-delvaux.org: Hi everyone, I made two changes to Deckard ( http://deckard.malizor.org ) that I would like to share with you. First, as Gil Forcada suggested, I implemented URL settings. This is more understandable with an example. A new PO file for Totem was uploaded yesterday for the Japanese language: http://l10n.gnome.org/vertimus/totem/master/po/ja The merged PO name (as displayed on the page) is totem-master-po-ja-32541_1.merged.po. Now, just click on the following link: http://deckard.malizor.org/?module=totemfile=totem-master-po-ja-32541_1.merged.po (you don't have to add the locale parameter) The PO file is automatically retrieved, as if you just uploaded it manually. You just have to click Display :-) In fact it works for all PO files available from l10n.gnome.org/media/upload or l10n.gnome.org/media/upload-backup. So, technically, links to Deckard can now be embedded on Damned lies (on relevant module pages). It's not up to me to decide if it should be implemented, but I think it would be useful. Secondly, I made some (big) configurations changes on my server so that users behind a firewall can now use Deckard (everything is now exposed on port 80). However, if you are behind a proxy that filter websockets, I'm afraid I can do nothing for you :-( On top of that, I also added support for 8 new locales (more are yet to come). Feel free to report a bug[1] if you think I might forget to add yours ;-) And that's it for now. AFAIK, except for looking the module's source code, you can only see how the module's translations looks like by doing a local compilation of the source code of the module provided by the GIT repository. I don't know exactly it works to try the dynamic and static web site, but I suppose you would need to prepare a web server, maybe in a virtual machine. e.g. for module 'gnome-user-docs', I build and then run 'yelp filename.page'. Re: Translation of GNOME website
Sent to Damned Lies doesn't mean sent to git repository[1]. Also sent to git repository doesn't mean automatically made available to the public. I think a good summary of the workflow would be: send translation push translation to the git repository maintainer compiles the newly compiled module goes public by maintainer (or someone else - don't know). The good news is that you always can download the latest source [2], copy your translation to it, compile the source code yourself and verify your translations. I have translated and commited slovak translation of GNOME website, but when i open it, it is always in english language? Can you help mi with this problem? Best Regards Dušan Kazik Member of slovak translation team Hi! Good question actually, there should be a mechanism on the website to pull translations from git and show them when browsing www.gnome.org, maybe this has to be triggered manually, no idea. Anyone can shed some light on this?
