Hi, can be possible to branch gnome user docs with each release, I know there are improvements every time, but I seriously doubt that the docs are very useful for, let's say gnome 2.18. gnome-user-docs translations
Hi folks, gnome-user-docs isn't listed on l10n.gnome.org. This module has one Mallard document to translate: gnome-help. It used to contain three DocBook documents, and we had translations for those, so I assume it used to be listed. The document isn't finished yet. We'll be doing a lot of work on it at a hackfest in mid-March. Thanks, Shaun ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n

But now that I think about it, my guess is that DL just greps Makefile.am files, without regard for configure.ac. (Blip does the same.) I'll 'git rm' some files so they stop showing up in DL. That wouldn't work. Besides, it could be useful to keep them around for a while, for example, a lot of accessibility-guide's content could be recycled into orca's help, perhaps some teams still had no time to do that. Once the updates are finished in the next few weeks, how much time do you, translators, want for updating the translations before the release? This is likely to be the last one for 3.10 and I will, of course, let you know once we are done writing. Hi all, well, I think we're pretty much done with most of what we're going to do now. There are still some outdated pages, but we will aim to update these for 3.10.3. Move s...@latin.po for gnome-user-docs.
Hi Serbian translation team, The s...@latin.po for gnome-user-docs does not exist in the sr@latin directory. The po exists in sr direcotry instead. It seems to cause building gnome-user-docs to fail. As far as I know, just to git mv sr/s...@latin.po sr@latin/s...@latin.po will fix the problem. Would you fix it? See Bug 672618 [1]. I thank you very much in advance for your cooperation. gnome-3-0 branch in gnome-user-docs
There's a gnome-3-0 branch in gnome-user-docs. Andre asked me to send an explanation about this, since it's clearly not the normal stable branching strategy. This branch is going to be a hotbed of edits and re-edits and thoroughly unstable content as we transition to Mallard. The docs teams decided to do this on a branch to avoid massive churn for translators. When the dust starts to settle, we'll merge this back into master. gnome-3-0 branch of gnome-user-docs
There was already a gnome-3-0 branch for gnome-user-docs. I made this a while ago as a staging ground for the new help. We then switched to master. In retrospect, I should have named the branch differently. I discovered through Blip that JHBuild is already using the gnome-3-0 branch, so I went ahead and did the surgery to make it actually current. This is earlier than I would have like to do a stable branch, but it's my own fault for naming a development branch poorly. So from here on out, let's do our commits on the gnome-3-0 branch. I'll handle merging them into master. Translation teams: you won't get an automatic notification of the branch, because it was made long ago. So consider this your branch notification. gnome-user-docs and gnome-getting-started-docs migrated to GitLab
Hi all, Just a heads up that thanks to Carlos and Andrea from the GitLab team, we've successfully migrated our core docs modules gnome-user-docs and gnome-getting-started-docs to the GNOME GitLab instance: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/ https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-getting-started-docs Open bugs from Bugzilla were also migrated and they are now called issues: https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-user-docs/issues https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-getting-started-docs/issues Read here how to update your existing clone: https://wiki.gnome.org/Git/Developers#Convert_anonymous_repository_to_developer_access I've also updated our wiki guides: https://wiki.gnome.org/DocumentationProject/Contributing https://wiki.gnome.org/DocumentationProject/Guide/DesktopHelp In short, the new Github-like workflow for contributing is to fork the repo, create a topic branch, commit, push, create a merge request and wait for peer review. No need to submit patches anymore. We no longer use Bugzilla for anything and it will be completely decommissioned later. gnome-devel-docs will be migrated later. Thank you, pk ___ gnome-i18n mailing list gnome-i18n@gnome.org https://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-i18n

All right, there's now a gnome-2-22 branch from revision 855, which is right before Vincent started committing his work to the Accessibility Guide. I'll delay the 2.22 release until the last minute. String freeze for gnome-user-docs (was: Announcing a pilot for docs release schedule with string freeze)
Hi all, Just a reminder that we're now in string freeze for gnome-user-docs, stable branch gnome-3-26. Please do not push any content updates to that branch. Only translation updates are allowed. Pushing to master is ok. According to https://wiki.gnome.org/DocumentationProject/Tasks/ReleaseSchedule, the string freeze ends in approx two weeks (25 September), when we release translation updates as 3.26.0.1.
