You do not mention which OS you are using. If it is Windows or Linux you can
search for the data file name and then double click on the file name. I am not
sure about Mac OS.

[GNC] Chase OFX - error 15500

2018-05-24 Thread Marcus Winston
I'm attempting to set up online banking for the first time. Using GnuCash
2.6.12that goes with my Linux distribution (Mint 18.3). I apparently
successfully connect to the bank (JP Morgan Chase), and try to retrieve an
account list. I get error 15500. searching the list archives, I see it can
help to set the version to 2500 instead of 2300 (since Quicken 2013 is no
longer supported). That, unfortunately, doesn't help me. I suppose it's
possible that I typed my password wrong. Where in a Linux system can I find
where the password (or hash, more likely ) is stored so I can delete it and
get GnuCash's online banking to ask me for it again?

File>Open...

If you don’t know where you put it, use your OS’s built-in search facility. If
you don’t even remember what you called it, try searching for “*.gnucash”.
Beware that files of the form “foo.gnucash.20180523141516.gnucash” are backups
of foo.gnucash.

What version, I'd assume 3.0 or 3.1 since you mention you updated recently.

Whats your OS?

During reconciliation, every time I attempt to place a check in the
appropriate box and number of boxes automatically show checks and then I
cannot click again to erase the wrong checks. I've reinstalled gnucash and
restarted the system. I did not have this problem prior to the 4/28 update.

Re: [GNC] Report ROWS

2018-05-24 Thread davidbrown.rdps
Hello Adrien, thank you for your prompt reply. I use also a PDF printer for
other applications, but this appears to be not allowed in this App. Happy with
using Excel or similar which I have done for the end of year, but to do a quick
report print particularly with all the options of what to include, and the fact
there is a page set-up tab if seems to fall down on a simple task?

All ok exporting as html as all one page. Just seems a bit odd having a split
row whatever the page set-up.

I use the latest version and vaguely remember being able to print to a printer
via the windows listing. The pdf printer is installed as that.

Regards
David

Any report can either be opened in, or simply copied and pasted into, a
spreadsheet where you can fine tune all aspects of printing. (particularly page
breaks)

This also gives you the benefit of being able to do additional analysis or
include other calculations and likely create better charts using the
spreadsheet app’s more advanced charting features.

Adrien
