Re: [GNC] More UI downgrades
Russell, I tested with a fresh MATE install and it worked fine as expected. No gray box. Do you happen to have a custom CSS file in use? Are you using the default Mint theme or a custom theme? No one else so far has reproduced this problem you describe. Where *exactly* are you seeing a 'gray box'? If you are running 'stock' everything, without a screenshot of the problem area, I'm not sure I can be of any help. Re: [GNC] More UI downgrades
Russel, I'm running Linux Mint 21 with GnuCash 4.11 (built from tarball) installed and have no editing problems at all with it. Many of the interface teatures are determined by common libraries on which GnuCash depends particularly changes in the GTK libraries rather than in the gnuCash coding itself. This can be beyond the GnuCash developers control if changes in the underlying library produce behaviour changes in GnuCash until it is noticed and they create a workaround until the library is fixed. It may pay to check the installed runtime versions against the dependency list in the release notes. "dpkg -l | grep " where string is the name or part of the name of a package will usually list a package's installed version number. My Linux Mint was upgraded from 20.3 and not a clean install and I usually have the latest available versions of the dependencies installed as I build both the stable version from tarball and the current maint and master development branches which may account for why I don't see the grey box. All mouse actions and arrow keys work fine in editing values on my system. Was this in the register for an account or in a dialog box? To track the problem down will involve trying to determine what is different about your system from both mine or Adrien's (which should be a clean install of LM 21 running in the VM). Russell, I happen to have a Mint21 VM using VirtualBox I've been trying out so I installed GnuCash to test and see if I get the same issue. I don't. Everything works as expected. Re: [GNC] More UI downgrades
Hi Russell I am running GnuCash v4.8 on Windows 10. There are no problems selecting (from the left or the right) and editing amounts or any other fields. I suspect your issues are due to the underlying GUI libraries that came with Mint and not GnuCash itself. In the reconciliation window, as you observed, SPACE will select / deselect the current transaction, but not move to the next transaction. As Gyle mentioned, using Ctrl-A and SPACE makes for a very speedy reconciliation. I don't see your grey box issue. I can click on any field, deposit, withdrawal, shares, etc and edit the number. Re: [GNC] More UI downgrades
Russ, I don't get the grey box, but it won't swipe from right to left. However, it does swipe from left to right, (huh?). Hope this helps with that issue. On your 2nd "gripe", that would be a nice enhancement or restoration if it used to work that way. In case you are unaware, did you know that if you do CTRL "A" and space it will select all the transactions in that sub window, either "debit" or "credit" and then you can unselect those that didn't clear. It may or may not be faster than the space bar causing it to move down automatically.
