Re: [GNC] job contains errors

2019-09-18 Thread Tim Meyer

Dear all,

I guess it might be this problem which belongs to EU users:

https://ec.europa.eu/info/publications/190913-safer-payment-services_en
...
As from 14 September 2019 the strong customer authentication (SCA)
requirement of the revised Directive on payment services (PSD2) comes
into force.

As far as I would see it, aqbanking might must be updated:

https://www.aquamaniac.de/rdm/projects/aqbanking/wiki/PSD2

I am not a developer. I am just searching for reasons why all my
accounts do not connect any more.

Kind regards
TIm

Aqbanking is a separate project that GnuCash uses.

I see on their main site (which you linked) they have their own mailing list.
Perhaps check there for more specific help.

Dear Adrien,

thank you for your reply.
Do get a better view on this issue: there is no one else having this
problem with EU bank accounts?
I might have be wrong with my impression that this must be an issue for
much more users than one person.

Kind regards
Tim

Re: [GNC] job contains errors

2019-09-18 Thread John Ralls
Tim,

This is being actively discussed on the gnucash-de list. I suggest that you
subscribe there.

I can try to summarize my understanding of the problem: There was a mandatory
change to FinTS involving product registration that is handled with a small
change to AQBanking and GnuCash. For that you need GnuCash 3.7 and AQBanking
5.8.x. If you're a Windows or Mac user the GnuCash 3.7 all-in-one bundles have
AQBanking 5.8.2. However several German banks decided to implement other FinTS
authentication features associated with PSD2 and those provisions caught the
AQBanking developer by surprise. He's working hard to get those working but he
won't be able to to that in the 5.8 stable series, so he's making the mods for
the yet to be released AQBanking 6.0.

Regards,
John Ralls

Re: [GNC] job contains errors

2019-09-18 Thread Adrien Monteleone
Tim,

Now that I understand this has to do with AqBanking, yes, I have a better idea
of the general scope of the issue.

I’ve seen another recent thread about this that I think is related. There might
be some info there for you.

But note, I’m not a developer of GnuCash, just a user like you.

John Ralls however is a developer, and his assessment of how to proceed is
going to help you much more than I can.

In no way was I trying to ship you off elsewhere, or make light of your plight.
But this does seem to be a problem with an underlying library that someone else
develops, and not a part of GnuCash itself. For immediate assistance, you are
more likely to find support with the AqBanking crowd than here, though
certainly John and others will offer all assistance they can.

Best of luck, and I’m sure anyone on this list with the same problems would be
grateful for any feedback as to how you eventually managed to resolve the issue.

The final resolution may indeed involve a mix of feedback from GnuCash users,
so please do not hesitate to keep the thread open with your developments. We
all benefit from shared experience and knowledge, even if it is on a topic we
aren’t familiar with or concerned with at present.

Regards,
Adrien
