The Board of Directors of Goa Sudharop would like to thank the donor family
who, in the last three
years, has donated through Goa Sudharop approximately US $10,000 (approx. 4.4
lakhs) towards the
St. Vincent's High School, Pune Goan Trust Fund for the higher education of
Goans in medicine or
engineering.

The trust fund has been established since the mid-1980's. The annual
scholarship has funded many
poor Goan students for 5 to 7 years each to help pay their fees and books while
earning a degree
in engineering or medicine. The family wishes to remain anonymous.

Sincerely,

Goa Sudharop

We at Goa Sudharop are thrilled that one of our young supporters from the San
Francisco Bay Area,
Sabrina Saverio, is running in the Dublin (Ireland) marathon to raise money in
the fight against
AIDS. See her message below.

Goa Sudharop
World G.O.A.N. network

Thanks to YOU, I've made it! This time tomorrow, I'll be sitting on a plane
(hopefully not too
air sick) on my way to Ireland. Thinking about the generosity of each and
everyone of you who
took the time out to donate, encourage, or even chat with me about doing such a
thing!

It will be quite a thrill to experience Dublin in such an event - the
excitement, the people, not
the mention the chaos! As I push through those 26.2 miles, I'll keep you all in
mind. It was a
difficult task not only to train during these past six months, but to also
fundraise such a large
amount of money. Thanks you to all, I've raised $4,070!!

I am so proud to know each any every one of you because in one or another,
you've made this
possible for me.

Regards,

Sabrina :)

Dear all

We are pleased to inform you that the World G.O.A.N. network (a network of Goan
Organizations,
Associations, NGO's/non-profits and individuals in the worldwide Goan
community), continues to
grow. This first attempt to bring Goans and Goan organizations together in
common cause has
exceeded our expecations. While the process will take time, we thank you for
your understanding
and patience in this unique venture.

Goans from around the world, including various Goan organizations and
associations have
registered. The response has been very positive and we thank you.

A special thanks to all for their unprecedented support as Goans unite to move

Dear all

Within minutes of the launch of the World G.O.A.N. network (a network of Goan
Organizations,
Associations, and NGO's/non-profits in the worldwide Goan community), Mr.
Gaspar Almeida (of Goa
World and Gulf-Goans D-list fame) was the first person to sign up. He has
consistently supported
Goans, Goan causes, Goa Sudharop and we thank him for his support of the World
G.O.A.N. Network.
Some of the others who were among the first few to sign up included many
organizations and
individuals, including the remarkable young Constantino Xavier, the South Goa
Public Interest
Action group, and many more. A complete list will be published in due course.
In the meantime, a
special thanks to all for their unprecedented support as Goans unite to move
forward.

[Goanet] World G.O.A.N. network - update by Goa Sudharop

2005-09-20 Thread George Pinto
Dear all,

The response to our launch of the World G.O.A.N. Network has been overwhelming.
 We did not
anticipate such a quick, positive, enthusiastic response from Goans and Goan
organizations all
over the world. You have shown that Goans can come together and work together
for a common cause.
We intend to reply to each of you after things settle down a bit and definite
plans fall into
place. Please forgive any delay on our part.

If you have not signed up, please do - see announcement below. Thank you for
your support.

Sincerely,
Melanie Moniz,

Original Announcement

The Board of Directors of Goa Sudharop is pleased to announce the launch of a
new worldwide Goan
Network group to be called World G.O.A.N., to publicise, benefit, and support
the events and
projects of Goan organizations and associations around the world. G.O.A.N.
stands for Goan
Organizations, Associations and NGO's/Non-Profits.

To become part of this exciting new Goan network, simply email us at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] and tell us about your activities and events. There is no
membership or
fee or application to enroll and you do not have to be a registered Goan
organization, association
or NGO/non-profit to be a participant in this network. Institutions, d-lists
and individuals who
work to promote Goa and Goans are also welcome to join. You and your group will
continue to
maintain your autonomy and independence and nothing about your organization
needs to change in the
way you function. In due course we hope to have a website for such a worldwide
Goan Network group,
bringing together the worldwide Goan community to help foster progress, unity,
development of Goa
and Goans.

Organizations, associations, NGO's/non-profits, individuals will benefit by
being able to tap into
Goa Sudharop's resources. Goa Sudharop may also decide to financially
contribute through its World
G.O.A.N. Development Fund to your projects if they fall within our aims and
objectives of the
betterment of Goa and Goans worldwide. In certain cases when it makes sense,
the worldwide Goan
community can work together on a common project and cause.

Groups/individuals have already shown interest and we look forward to all
worldwide Goan
organizations, associations, NGO's, non-profits, d-lists, institutions,
individuals to participate
and enroll regardless of their own mission and aims. There is no cost to enroll
and no
requirements, other than your love for Goa and Goans and a desire to build a
strong worldwide Goan
community and help one another. Please support this worthy cause of bringing
Goans together.

Further details to follow.

Sincerely,

Board of Directors of Goa Sudharop
