It is unbelievable as to how the WHO is labeling our Goan sausages as 
carcinogenic. We have been eating it for 500 years and now this finding. What 
the WHO does not know is that Goans down their beloved sausages with the cancer 
killer product called feni. Probably next in line will be our favourite Bebinca 
(sugar raises blood pressure!).

Let me answer my own question are perusing the Internet.

Goa sausages WILL have a cancer risk due to the following:

It is salted and therefore cured. Curing is one of the hallmarks of preserved 
meats.

Traditionally, it is smoked in kitchens with wood-burning fireplaces or hung 
over low heating sources. The meat-smoking process is another carcinogen.

So yes, definitely, Goa sausages are preserved meats within the definition of 
the WHO warning.

boundary and people of Goa must realize this.  Their ideology should be
battered to dust once and for good or else the situation could go from bad
to worse.


Instead the formidable party of yesteryear's the UGP (United Goans Party)
and not MGP, Maharashtra, which is not akin to Goa, should be left out.
Since Maharashtra belongs to another State whose fundamentals are same as
BJP but on another level not akin to the Goans. So UGP could do well to
begin with.


But to begin with; how, where or whom would all choose?


Is there anyone amongst you who have not cast a stone or sinned?  RIGHT
CANDIDATE must be forgiven even if he has sinned for the first time lead us
to the Kingdom thy come.


As Stephen Dias rightly pointed out the excerpts of his mail I give below;

We Goans must put aside our differences, irrespective of cast, creed and
religion for the Welfare of Goa and the Goans at large and near putting
aside our Egos, Pride, Lust, Envy, Jealousy and Hatredness and forever
Destroy the EVIL called CORRUPTION.


The ROT THAT HAS SET AMONGST US TO THE ROAD TO PERDITION MUST BE STOPPED
FOREVER and GOA MUST TRIUMPH FOREVER.

GOANS BE ALERT TOWARDS SUJAY GUPTA TOM FOOLERY



Sujay Gupta, The Editor of Herald thinks all Goans are idiots.  He is
specialized in Tom Toming about the Voice of Goans but he is projecting the
Voice of those who destroy and degrade Goa and Goans allegedly make money
for themselves in the press. Without Casinos Herald the so called Voice of
Goans would be voiceless. Everyone knows that it is casinos lobby which is
allegedly sustaining Herald and some other newspapers by
these advertisements everyday. No newspapers in Goa is complete without
first page advertisement of the casinos in Goan rivers ( Mandovi river).

Do Goans know that on 1st November 2015, there was a half page write up in
the Herald Café page? (Photo enclosed). This Herald Café page showed
clearly the photos of the owner Capt. Basak and his family of MV Lexicon of
floating hotel seems to be having a capacity of 1500 passengers and another
photo of Minister of Tourism Dillip Parulekar and his son and third photo
is complete half size paper of Herald Café page showing how people were
enjoying and the Herald reported this event. (all photos enclosed).  This
ship is a floating hotel and it was earlier docked at the Captain of Ports
and it is now  shifted 5 days back to a place close to Britona after
the Mandovi Bridge near Ribandar side may be for upgrading the facilities,
and another vessel is brought near the Captain of Ports jetty a ship called
TUG ( photo enclosed).

The owner of the MV Lexicon has given parties to various dignitaries
including Siddarth Kunkolienkar MLA of Panjim, Mr Dillip Parulekar Minister
of Tourism, Capt James Braganza who has coordinated and made all the
arrangements and others. I understand that Capt. Basak is a migrant from
the same state where the Herald Editor Sujay comes. For  Herald does not
matter if this MV Lexicon degrades Panjim, creates traffic woes for
Panjimites, increases prostitution, haphazard parking on the roads and
lanes, drinking, urination , defecation and vomiting etc as long as revenue
is entered. All Herald gets is advertisements from MV Lexicon by aiming
parties thrown by Capt Basak. The double role played by Sujay Gupta of
criticizing casinos floatel and other activities of the Goa government in
first page of section of the paper and promoting Casinos activities in
other pages is very deceiving and Goans should not fall prey to Sujay Gupta
misinformation which is only directed to fool Goans.

Once this vessel is in operation there will be number of weddings, parties,
dances, cabarets and carnivals entertainment etc. There are chances Goa
turning into like Las Vegas with abundant of drugs and drinks and
striptease dances.

Goans wake up and be alert to Herald shrewd approach of towards slow
destruction of Goa and Goans.

squad for India’s crucial forthcoming Russia 2018 World Cup Preliminary
Joint Qualification Round 2 match against Guam.



The match is scheduled to be played at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in

    NRIs – Baggage Rules - Arrest Limit increased in case ofoutright smuggling 
or mis-declaration of baggage
 (8thAug,2015 ) Passengers entering India will now have to declare Indian 
currencyexceeding Rs 25,000 and LCD, LED or plasma televisions being brought by 
them inthe new customs declaration forms. According to the new rules, the duty 
freeallowance on cigarettes, cigars and tobacco has been reduced by 50 per 
cent. Also,passengers of Indian-origin and foreigners of over 10 years of age 
residing inIndia and coming from any country other than China, Nepal, Bhutan 
and Myanmarcan bring goods worth Rs 45,000 along with them. Earlier, this limit 
was Rs35,000. All flyers coming to India will need to declare Indian 
currencyexceeding Rs 25,000, said the Customs Baggage Declaration 
(Amendment)Regulations, 2015, notified by the Finance Ministry. Earlier, they 
weresupposed to declare any amount exceeding Rs 10,000 being brought by them. 
Anadditional field has also been inserted in the ‘Indian Customs 
DeclarationForm’, which needs to be filled by all passengers entering India, to 
declareany flat panel (LCD, LED or plasma) televisions being brought by 
them.Theform presently has fields for declaration of dutiable and prohibited 
goods,gold jewellery and bullion (over free allowance), satellite phone and 
foreigncurrency notes exceeding USD 5,000 or equivalent. The passengers also 
need tomention about meat, meat products, fish, dairy and poultry products, 
seeds,plants, fruits, flowers, other planting material and aggregate value of 
foreignexchange, including currency exceeding USD 10,000 or equivalent in the 
existingcustoms form. Central Board ofExcise and Customs revises limit for 
arrest and prosecution substantiallyupwards ; In cases of outright smuggling or 
mis-declaration of baggage, thelimits regarding value of offending goods have 
been revised from Rs. 5 lakh toRs. 20 lakh among others Persons involved 
inserious offences of tax evasion are liable for arrest and prosecution under 
theCentral Excise Act, 1994, Finance Act, 1994 dealing with Service Tax 
andCustoms Act, 1962. Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) has 
issuedinstructions from time to time prescribing the procedures, safeguards 
andthreshold limits above which these powers are to be exercised with 
discretionand responsibility. CBEC has now issued fresh instructions today 
rescinding thepast circulars and consolidating them at one place with 
followingobjectives.  Circular No.1009/16/2015-CX Dated- 23.10.2015The monetary 
limitsfor arrest and prosecution have been revised substantially upwards 
toensure that these powers are not used against small and medium 
businesses.Thus the limits incase of offence of evasion of tax or wrongful 
utilization of input tax creditin case of Central Excise and Service tax have 
been revised to Rs.1 crore fromRs. 25 lakh and Rs. 10 lakh respectively. 
CircularNo. 1010/17/2015-CX Dated- 23.10.2015In case of evasion of tax under 
the CustomsAct, the limits have been revised to Rs. 1 crore from Rs. 10 lakh in 
case ofevasion of tax by wrongful availment of exemption or duty drawback. 
Similar,revisions regarding value of goods have been carried-out regarding 
appraisementof tax during import or export.In cases of outright smuggling 
ormis-declaration of baggage, the limits regarding value of offending goods 
havebeen revised from Rs. 5 lakh to Rs. 20 lakh. As in the past, there shall be 
nolower limit for arrest and prosecution in the cases of smuggling of fake 
Indiancurrency notes, arms, ammunitions and explosives and endangered species.
The procedure to be followed for arrest andsanction of prosecution has been 
revised and specified with adequate safeguardsin these instructions to ensure 
that only in cases of serious nature above therevised thresholds, where there 
is strong prima-facie evidence, these powersare exercised

The Goa Government despite its own circular of austerity measures for cost
cutting has relaxed the State Guest Rules to accommodate the Supreme Court
Judge Rohinton Fali Nariman who is arriving in Goa on 6th November for a 10
day holiday. This has been revealed in the information obtained from the
Protocol department at the Secretariat under the Right to Information Act.



As per the information furnished K.K.Chawla, the Private Secretary to
Justice Rohinton Nariman by a letter dated 30thJuly this year wrote to the
Chief Secretary of Goa that Justice Nariman accompanied by his wife Sanaya
would be reaching Goa on 6th November and will be staying here till 16th
November and requested that one suite at Taj Vivanta, Old Hermitage Cottage
be booked for them. By another letter dated August 21stthe Chief Secretary
was informed that Justice Nariman would be staying in Goa till the 15th
November and not the 16th November as planned earlier.



As per the Goa Government State Guest Rules, a Supreme Court Judge is
treated as State Guest for only three calendar days but Government however
can relax this provision in suitable cases. The rule further provides that
Supreme Court Judges will be accommodated at Raj Bhavan during their visit.



As per the file notings the Protocol department moved a note on 11th
September
seeking approval for the stay of Justice Nariman in Goa. The note stated
that as Justice Nariman is staying for more than three days the rule would
have to be relaxed to provide protocol facilities for his 11 day visit. The
Secretary Protocol cleared the file on 15th Sept and the very same day it
was approved by Protocol Minister with no questions asked despite the note
not giving any reason for the relaxation. Incidentally the Protocol
Minister is Dilip Parulekar who is also the Tourism Minister and against
whom various criminal cases are pending in various Courts including the
High Court.



Interestingly the file notings reveal that the Protocol department did not
seek the required approval of the Finance department despite there being a
huge financial implication on account of relaxing the State Guest rules for
Justice Nariman?s holiday.



It  is very disturbing to note that Advocate General Atmaram Nadkarni had
been pressurizing officers to breach the rules and illegally facilitate
Justice Rohinton Nariman?s10 day holiday in Goa. The Advocate General
should never act as a broker in organizing impermissible Government
largesse for Judges as it compromises the very independence of the
Judiciary.



It is anguishing that the Constitutional mantra ?that nobody is above the
law? is being trampled upon by a Judge of the India?s highest Temple of
Justice.



Justice Rohinton Nariman should adhere to the rules and like all other
Supreme Court judges visiting Goa be a State Guest at Raj Bhavan for only
three days. He must pay himself and not burden the tax payer for any other
holiday that he wants to have in Goa.



59 year old Rohinton Nariman is the son of noted jurist Fali Nariman and
was sworn in as a direct Judge of the Supreme Court on 7th of July last
year and is scheduled to retire on 12th August 2021.

GOA LOCAL NEWSPAPERS ARE HAPPY WITH THE SAME WRITERS AND CASINOS
ADVERTISEMENTS.


Everyday when we get up and see ANY daily newspapers the top front page
line is CASINOS ADVERTISEMENTS.
Also another stupidly is that same writers  writing in their column as if
they are recruited for the jobs in their own newspapers.
I come to know that their own reporters are complaining that their
respective Editors  wants to read each and everything what they report as
if they are not trust worthy. That could be the main reason that these
Sub-Editors / reporters and other staff  are leaving and joining other
papers and when they go to other paper there too is the same situation.
For example we have Adelmo, Poojary, Nazareth, Panchu, Michael and many
columnists which I do not want to name them, are all the time appearing
their names in the papers. I never read what they write, only the headlines
except few of them which I know well.
If they pass FUSCO that is also reported. What a corrupt journalism we have
in  Goa.
Another headache is in front page especially at the top end we see Casino
Pride and other casinos advertisement and also most of the times nowadays
full page ADDs.
Now,  It is impossible to stop because the owners of papers wants money and
these migrants Editors  helps them to get them revenue for survival.
 Same papers shout for CONGRESS AND BJP  that Casinos have been brought by
them in Mandovi River,  and how this is possible them to go out when the
newspapers comes with their advertisements? Can they stop ADDS now so that
Goans can breathe with less pollution on casinos?
Now, Congress says that "Bringing Casinos to Goa was mistake admits
Congress. I would say that BJP also followed the same ideology.
I must categorically say that Goans also made mistake bringing first
Congress and then BJP in POWER. Instead of, Goans should have kept United
Goans and MGP united. It is not LATE.
Also I must blame Leader of Opposition Dr. Jack de Sequeira and his son
ex-MP Erasmo Sequeira who have also made mistake by joining Janata Party,
that was a turning point for Goans.

A cheating case has been filed at the Panaji Police Station against former
Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in connection with cheating,
misrepresenting and causing loss to the State Exchequer to the tune  of Rs
6, 37,721 in the hosting a State dinner for BJP delegates.


In the complaint it has been pointed out that a note was moved on 4th June
2013 to the Protocol department by Sanchita Banerjee Rodrigues, Press
Liaison Officer to the then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar that the Chief
Minister would be hosting a dinner for delegates of the National Executive
Meeting without mentioning that it was a BJP meet.


Given to the police are entire documents obtained under the Right to
Information Act from the Protocol department processing that dinner bill
which does not mention that it was a BJP meeting but just masks it as a
National Executive Meeting.


The Goa Government paid a whopping Rs 6, 37,721 for that dinner hosted by
then Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar on 8th June 2013 at the Goa Marriot
Resort for the 543 delegates attending the National Executive meeting of
the Bharatiya Janata Party which was held in the Goa from the 7th to 9th June
2013.


Pursuant to the conspiracy earlier hatched, Manohar Parrikar and other
unknown government officers concealed crucial and material facts as regards
the National Executive Meeting being held was of the BJP Party.


By giving a false impression that the meeting being held was National
Executive Meeting of the Government which deception and concealment was
from the very inception thereby inducing the Protocol department to
disburse the amount of Rs 6, 37,721, Manohar Parrikar and others committed
offences punishable under Sections 406,409 and 420 read with 120B and/or 34
of the Indian Penal Code.


As the  law of the land does not permit tax payers money to be squandered
in hosting and feasting of meetings of political parties, the Panaji Police
have been called upon to forthwith register an F.I.R against Manohar
Parrikar and unknown others and to promptly investigate the case in
accordance with law.

against the growing  trend of intolerance, be it religion, food, freedom of
expression, clothes, etc, The small but  influential, respected group of
individuals cannot be ignored, Calling it a paper rebellion, voice crying
in the wilderness, manufactured revolt, sabotage, anti National, conspiracy
against BJP etc is arrogance of those in power and responsible individuals.

1.   Are we to conclude that the observations   of the President Of
India, endorsed by P.M. Vice President and latest Governor of Reserve bank
are to be treated with disdain.? Then the world group of writers has also
shown sympathy and support for the action of Indian intellectuals from all
fields. P.M is , notably silent, when India from length and breadth,
cutting across party lines resent the polluted atmosphere dividing ,
threatening, intimidating the citizens. The argument that it is a miniscule
group is being blinded by reasons of sanity expected of those shouting from
roof tops” sab ka vikas sab ke sath “ growth and development, minimum Govt,
maximum governance” It is more of speech diet and verbal diarrhea , raising
high expectations with nil delivery. Every protest need be  stereotype and
the novelty of the present dissent and outburst has caught the attention of
local media and those outside our National boundaries. Carrying on
vilification campaign  by some disgruntled elements of this community
appears to be orchestrated by invisible hand of motivated organization to
discredit the noble action of intellectuals

The real solution would have been to have a dialogue with those raising the
bar and address concerns in National interests A large number of
intellectuals writing to the authorities have  been met with deafening
silence and futher being accused of having axe to grind in aligning with
dissenting voices. Every period is different and to say that there were no
revolts earlier in specific, aggravating, serious incidents is to belittle
the present situation in comparison The protest might no have been eye
catching and many times ignored by the media. Besides returning awards by
different strata of individuals without a coordinated platform is rattling
the Govt, The media too for first time is highlighting the issue with
dogged perseverance, though some are toying the Govt line indiscreetly,
obliquely and covertly to please the masters by advancing , convincing and
divisive arguments

The problem of aggravation of intolerance all over the country with varying
degree of repeated incidents have touched the conscience of secular minded
citizen to rise in one voice,. Govt instead of taking swift, decisive
action against perpetrators, law breakers vandalists, murderers,
intimidators is seen to be treating such fringe elements with kid gloves
and that is the worrisome situation sending wrong signals of Govt
 realintent The protests are  increasing with larger participation and the
arrogance is only strengthening the determination and resolve of the
citizens, who are with them in no uncertain terms ,though not visible on
the surface The cumulative effect of these serious aberrations of
infringement of freedom and intolerance will be manifested at the time it
matters .It is not to be conceived against the popular mandate  to  rule
and any party in particular, but effectiveness to deal with firmness as per
rules in force

Spectre.   The film had some breath taking scenery from around the world and 
interestingly started with a colourful parade scene from the Festival of Death 
filmed in Mexico City.   By coincidence, there was to be a Goan Halloween 
experience here in London, but like another recent event, a banner of 
“cancelled” had to be screamed.   One can only guess that there was no point in 
having a Festival of Death unless some very top important people made it to the 
sudden death list.   
Next weekend before the Big Freeze sees Free Family and Fun Fireworks Nights in 
most town and cities near Goan settlements in the Kingdom see local press for

living make the effort and  attend. 2016 should be  the leap year when  The 
50th Anniversary of our once great caring organisation in the United Kingdom 
can be refurbished and brought back to its former glory all willing.
Gone are the days when a lot of these sparkling events organised and supported 
by our own people took place including firework displays, festivals, autumn 
barbecues on the Goan Association UK’s own Freehold six and half acres of 
grounds, clubhouse and bungalow before the demolition team with cockroach 
mentality and self-enrichment in mind moved in.  The space once occupied by the 
bungalow is now a two story building with four flats and no longer ours .
Just like in the film Spectre the MI5(Secret Service) the building on the 
Thames is to be demolished and rumour has it that a development of flats will 
take place. In our case  a community with no practical support are reduced to 
one Flat in a Tower Block (aka GOA Towers) rental income, minimal outgoings and 
no visible audited accountability that I can see until the next dance.

milk. Though the victorious Councillor may have enjoyed the milk bath in
the morning, he was not prepared for the flak that he received from various
quarters later.

In the recently concluded Civic Polls in Goa, BJP panels secured victory in
6 councils out of the 11 which went to poll. In one council of Canacona
though, there was a tie and no panel emerged victorious. But this is not
why Canacona is in the news today. It has shot into fame because of a video
which has gone viral on social media, which shows a councillor elected from
the BJP panel, being bathed in what appears to be milk, to celebrate his
victory

Kishore Shet is one of the 5 BJP Councillors who won from the sleepy hamlet
of Canacona, but he felt it necessary to mark his victory by taking a milk
bath from his supporters. Such wasteful celebrations would put many big wig
politicians to shame especially those from down south.

Watch as what appears to be milk is wasted in this shameless exercise of
self-glorification. Not only is this narcissistic tendency shameful, even
the waste of milk is highly condemnable. The video, which was seemingly
taken by one of his well-wishers, has now become a major source of
embarrassment for him as it has spread like wild fire on social media.
