[Goanet] Subject: More than just Collomb, Mining Village
Thank you FN, Venantius Pinto and H’e’artman, Good to know that there are actually 4 Goans in this forum. The pictures and videos were helpful and made things more clear. For the rest of you who are pretending and ignoring the issues in your backyard, please have a look at the links (it’s only a mouse click away) and then visit these places know firsthand what exactly is happening there. All we know (that includes me) are the Coconut trees and the Beautiful beaches (in our front yard), Shacks, Religious places and Panjim, Margao, Mapusa, Vasco bazaars fish markets. I clicked, Now I know better of what’s going on in the interiors. I will visit these places and do what little I can. Drop by drop, little by little, each and everyone, do what you can to help. Like someone said; ‘You may grow old and die in your beds, but what would you give to get this chance again where you could have done something that would have made the difference!’ Is no one getting provoked? I love you all,Ben.
[Goanet] Subject: More than just Collomb, Mining Village
Does anyone have photos of these mining villages? What are the chances of getting some aerial photographs of the place? Does anyone have any ideas on how to get photographs from the air without breaking any laws! Why are only a few Goans commenting on this topic? Lots of questions, where are the answers? Perhaps with the Lamani's and the Ghanti's. Wake up Goa. Ben.
[Goanet] Templar.
The Da Vinci code movie/book caused such an uproar everywhere. Featured were the Knights Templar. Mysterious and full of myth. Can anyone tell me more? Is there a Goan connection to them? I was looking up Henry the Navigator and Kings of Portugal supporting the Knights Templars in 1200-1300. Most drawings of Portuguese Ships in Goan heritage places show what looks like the Templar even sided cross on their sails. Did Templars sail to Goa? I remember that there used to be a statue of Henry the Navigator in Vasco near the fish market circle. __ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
