In the run up to the finals AVC - Kuwait defeated Veterans Club 1-0, brushed aside K.G.A in the tie-breaker with AVC's goalkeeper Alvaro Dias in outstanding form, whipped G.O.A. Maroons 3-0 in the semifinals and outclassed Bombay Boys 4-1 in the finals. The finals were played at a frantic pace with both the teams going in for the kill from the beginning. AVC forged ahead when medio Luciano D'Souza sent a crisp placement to put AVC ahead in the first half. Bombay Boys equalized immediately when a defensive error allowed Melvyn of Bombay Boys to put it across AVC's Alvaro. The second half started on a promising note with AVC on the attack with their customary two touch football and once again Luciano collecting a pass on top of the box unleashed a thunder shot which pierced the nylons and kept the Bombay Boys goalkeeper rooted to his ground. After that it was AVC all the way with star striker Kevin scoring the third and Molvito completing the rout. The tiring Bombay Boys players did try to force the pace, but the defense led by Vincy along with Captain Francis Jr. were rock solid with Alvaro manning the goal superbly. The game was played by both the teams in a very friendly manner showing the true spirit of football. Luciano D'Souza was adjudged the man of the finals for his superb play and was awarded a trophy for scoring the first goal of the finals. The tournament was held under the auspices of KIFF and supervised by IFRA and well organized by Curtorcares United.

Trophy by defeating D.H.L. Football club in the finals held on Soor Grounds Kuwait on 9th February 2007. This is the 3rd consecutive year AVC have inscribed their name on this trophy. AVC KUWAIT. SEASONS CHAMPIONS AVC - Kuwait sponsored by Shipping giants Kuwait Transcontinental Shipping Company Kuwait have been crowned the new Seasons Champions by Kuwait Indian Football Federation for the season 2005-2006. Having secured the maximum points AVC Kuwait proved once again they are the team to reckon with in a field of 16 teams registered with KIFF. This is AVC Kuwait's second seasons champions title in a row for the last two consecutive years which itself is a record for a club which has just completed 5 years. Another glorious year for the Management, Coach and Team Manager for the effort. AVC Kuwait have been in the forefront in the field of sports and cultural activities for the past 5 years. On the football field they have been Overseas Champions in Bahrain in the year 2004, thereby creating history among the Overseas Goan Football teams in Kuwait for being the only goan team from Kuwait to win an outstation tournament. The same year they were the quaterfinalist in the overseas tournament held in Dubai. In Kuwait last year AVC won the All India football tournament conducted by the Kerala Expartriate community and have been the KIFF League Champions for season 2004-2005. On the cultural front AVC Kuwait have organised two Konkani Shows and revived the famous Red & Black Dance. More activities are on the anvil. AVC Kuwait have maintained discipline on and off the field of play in this entire tenure of 5 years and in some instances paid a price for upholding the discipline, the latest being the glaring intentional omission of AVC's photo on the electronic as well print media after being declared the seasons champions by KIFF. On being questioned the blame is transferred on the media when it is known very clearly that some disgruntled souls are behind the whole saga. The governing body fails to understand or is ignorant of the fact that it takes a herculean effort to become season champions as one loss in the preliminary stages in any of the regular tournament reduces the points unlike in the KIFF league. But AVC are not perturbed by these minor irritations because they have the expertise and will power to overcome the obstacles, and for season 2006-2007 the fans and critics will see a new look AVC Kuwait football team with the new sporting gear being specially designed and unveiled on 25th August 2006.
