A Ramesh double helped Benfica Youth Club score a fluent 3-0 win over
Baina SC in the Goa Football Association U-14 League match played at
Cansaulim ground, on Thursday.

when Ramesh Heddri on intercepting a pass in the defensive third rounded
off the keeper to give Benfica their first of the evening.
Hardly had the joys settled down, Benfica scored their second in the
10th minute through Aaron Ferandnes. Benfica were way better than Baina
SC, as the players showed unity on the pitch as they attacked in numbers
and defended together whenever required thus making it difficult for
Baina SC. The winners led 2-0 at the break.

Ramesh, who completed his brace with another team goal.

Panjim Footballers beat Corps of Signals
Panjim Footballers registered a narrow 1-0 win over Corps of Signals in
the Goa Football Association Goa Professional League match played at
Duler Stadium, Mapusa, on Wednesday.
Daryl Costa scored the lone goal of the match in the 85th minute after
Corps of Signals’ Om Prakash received marching orders with a straight
red after he hit an opposition player.
Panjim now have eight points while Corps have 10 points as both teams
played ten matches so far.
The capital city side looked promising from the first whistle as they
constantly raided the rival citadel with Cyril Dias and Clifton
Fernandes –both coming close to scoring but they just failed to find the
mark. Daryl also saw his effort being saved by the keeper as Panjim
dominated the first session and didn’t give much chance for the
opponents. The teams were tied goalless at the break.
With both teams needing a win, the second half was sure to witness more
of actions and the match saw an ugly scene as Corps were reduced to 10
man following Om Prakash’s unruly behaviour on the field.
Once down by man, it looked difficult for the Signals side to catch up
the young and energetic Panjim side who finally took the lead through
Daryl who smartly placed the ball past the rival keeper to score the
only goal of the game to give his side the first win.

defender with a quick run before placing the ball past the onrushing
keeper.
Kevnem SC were at their back and soon levelled terms in the 19th minute
when Bhanudas Gawas scored with a curling shot from the box.
Merces SC kept on attacking and soon were up once again thanks to Sohan,

PANJIM: Churchill Brothers held Vasco Sports Club to a 1-1 draw in the
Goa Professional League match played at Rosary ground, Navelim, on

the game.
The two foreign acquisitions Henry Ezeh and Penn Orji changed the whole
mood in the Vasco SC camp as they put up an impressive performance in
the first half they caught the Red Machines by surprise.
Port Towners maintained better ball possession and enjoyed better
passing as compared to Churchill Brothers SC.
Despite both teams failing to get on the score sheet in the first half,
Vasco SC had numerous chances to open their account as Henry Ezeh missed
a glorious chance when he was straight at goal only with the rival
keeper, but the strikers shot was brilliantly blocked by the Red
Machines keeper Sanju Thapa but yet the ball was rolling into the goal,
but an alert Suraj cleared the ball off the line for Red Machines.
Earlier, Penn Orji’s free-kick from outside the penalty area narrowly
missed the mark.

came with renewed ideas and matched their opponents. However, they were
dealt with an early blow when Beneston Barretto tapped in cross to give
Vasco SC a much deserved lead.
But the lead only sustained for few minutes as Churchill Brothers
