[Goanet] The Pope's slushy sentiments are not enough
God does not think the way mankind thinks. According to some of his creation, just because of a few bad apples, the thought of throwing the whole barrel comes to their mind. But God, the Almighty send his only son to see that just because of a few rottten apples, the whole of his creation is not thrown to eternal damnation. By the way there is a saying, "kam zallem voiz mello." The Church must be held to a higher standard being in a position of trust and authority for millenni A few bad apples are enough to get the barrel thrown out. Roland. The way the Church is lambasted for the sins of few (not thousands as claimed) makes me wonder if the Society each of us lives in is free from Peadophiles. Surely The Lord has asked the faithful to be on guard for wolves in lambs clothing. If one looks at the world around, he or she will surely find many times much more evil compared to the few wolves who have penetrated the Church. Thus overlooking the good done by the Catholic Church. Every person has done harm to the Society in one way or the other. Can we find any Saints these days ?

Very well put, Eddie. Few have the wisdom or courage to document the facts as you have done. You speak for the dead and the dying. I stand with you. _ shiraz > On 29 Nov 2018, at 17:02, Eddie wrote: > > Mr Argham, you seem to be unduly moved by Pope Francis's outpouring of > concern for the family. > He uses well chosen words to sway the emotions: 'emotional health, > purification of the spirit, liberation of the heart...' > 'Evil is a poison that intoxicates and kills.' [Goanet] The Pope's slushy sentiments are not enough
Mr Argham, you seem to be unduly moved by Pope Francis's outpouring of concern for the family. He uses well chosen words to sway the emotions: 'emotional health, purification of the spirit, liberation of the heart...' 'Evil is a poison that intoxicates and kills.' [can these be translated into Konkani?] SO WHY DOES HE ALSO NOT MENTION THE EVIL EPIDEMIC OF CHILD SEX ABUSE BY THOUSANDS OF HOLY CATHOLIC PRIESTS who destroyed so many families round the world? WHY DID HE HIMSELF NOT TAKE A FIRMER LINE IN DISCIPLINING SUCH PRIESTS? And the children included those forcibly taken from their non-white (native) parents into boarding schools (in Canada, Australia, Pacific Islands, etc) And Pope Francis should also apologise for the HISTORIC INJUSTICES to the native of the Americas and elsewhere. It started with Catholic Christopher Columbus's brutal treatment of the natives, followed by hordes of Euro 'settlers' who took over the Americas and went on a spree of massacres and land grab. For example, the Spanish forced the natives to mine the silver in Potosi (Bolivia) and transport to Spain. Ten million natives died from the back breaking labour. Similar with gold shipments. In the Pope's adopted country, Argentina, the Spanish & Italian settlers went on horseback and systematically massacred the natives. (This was recorded by Darwin while on his voyage in the ship Beagle.) As a result, Argentina has a surprisingly few native Indians to be found. I twice wrote to Pope Francis to comment on this but there was no reply. Note how the Popes viewed early colonialism: 1) Pope Leo X, presented King Manuel (Portugal) with a sword in 1515 with the words:"Receive this warlike sword in your victorious hands. With this, you will wage wars under the most happy auspices… May you use your force and power against the infidels…having received through this gift the help of heaven, you may bring back abundant spoils and triumphs.” 2) It was the dissolute Alexander VI whose Bull of 1493 gave Spain and Portugal the right for “barbarous nations (to) be invaded and brought to the faith”. He took it upon himself to divide the New World between Spain and Portugal. Pope Alexander reportedly used the first gold brought from the Americas to decorate the ceiling of Santa Maria Maggiore. 3) Alexander’s reign was known for its orgies. One of the more spectacular ones was organised by his son Cesare on 31 October 1501. The pope was the only other male invited. His daughter Lucrezia was present. 50 of Rome’s top prostitutes danced a striptease before the two men, finally flopping naked around the pope’s table and scrambling for chestnuts thrown to them by the Borgias. The pope loved his children. With his ill-gotten wealth, he could offer them the best education. He also officiated at their weddings. One can go on. --- WILL ANY POPE COMMENT HONESTLY ON THE MANY SHAMEFUL EPISODES OF CATHOLIC CHURCH HISTORY? Please look at the speech that was read yesterday by the Pope. Regardless of religion, see how Pope Francis has beautifully written about the family. FAMILY, PLACE OF FORGIVENESS ... © There is no perfect family. © We do not have perfect parents, we are not perfect, We do not marry a perfect person or we do not have perfect children. © We have complaints from each other. © We are constantly disappointed. © There is no healthy marriage or healthy family without the exercise of forgiveness. © Forgiveness is vital to our emotional health and spiritual survival. Without forgiveness, the family becomes an arena of conflict and a fortress of evil. © Without forgiveness, the family becomes sick. © Forgiveness is the asepsis of the soul, the purification of the spirit and the liberation of the heart. He who does not forgive does not have peace in his soul or communion with God. © Evil is a poison that intoxicates and kills. etc etc
