Friends it seems Churchill is going to dubai to watch Agostinho's Advogad and recent advertisment shown in kuwait says that Mickey is the chief guest for the same show in Kuwait. It looks like goan NRI's has no other work.

Yeah, this Thursday UAE Goans will be felicitating Honorable Minister of Public Works Department and former Chief Minister of Goa Churchill Alemao at Al Nasr Leisureland .He has been invited as the Chief Guest at a Konkani Drama here. I recollect a month ago , the Kuwait Goans felicitated him.The local press ran a report which went like "Minister Alemao, who is a well-known personality in Goa for service to the poor blah blah" I guess we NRI Goans have a big heart or we are disconnected. Very well done, Agnelo. I commend you for the spirit in which you have made this call. All political revolutions must start somewhere. This could be the start of the 'GOAN REVOLUTION' that is so desirous for Goa's sake. This call for the boycott must signify more for total political change in GOA and less for the boycott of Churchill Alemao as a person or as the Goan politician. I agree with Agnelo Pinheiro... 2010/6/14 Agnelo Pinheiro Whatever may his scheme of things, I for one cannot be in the league of untrustworthy person under the same roof.An elected representative of people who can go down to gutter and call Goans ‘PIGS’ is unworthy to be in our midst. He deserves strongest condemnation in strongest term.

Hi Agnelo
I have a great regard for our Tiatrist fraternity, it is they, along with our
renowned writers, poets and our Goan Priests that have kept our Konkanni alive
and kicking. It's was they who set off the spark during the Konkanni movement.
The perception of our Tiatrist has changed with time and conditions, not taking
away anything from our artists of yore, the present brand have become more
outspoken. It's a revolution. Though, I must say that we still long for and
enjoy the meaningful songs, the melody and the rhyming of our Artists of old,
even today.
I do salute Agnelo for his thoughtful call and his sense of reason behind this
call. All over Goa people are frustrated with the way our corrupt politicians
have been victimising Goa and Goans, not one of the forty has been supporting
the cause of Goa and Goans, buried under their own preplanned personal agendas
and ideologies which have been detrimental to Goa and Goans. It is a very
precarious situation that we Goans have been put into by our very own elected
corrupt and unethical politicians.
The chief guest or guest of honour should be a man or a woman of honour, a man
of good repute, a role model for people gathered to look upto and take his or
her example and try to emulate them. In Goa today it's become a fashion to
invite our politicians even for Church functions, which is totally contrary to
the very beliefs of the Church. It's true The Church tells us not to condemn
sinners but at the same time they should not be eulogized either. It's been told
that Churchill will be the Chief Guest for the Tiatr in Dubai next weekend, is
he coming with his wife or a --? Our Goan politicians have been treating
Dubai as a service centre for oil change for some time now.
We have to show our disapproval to the polity in Goa and this is indeed a good
way to do it, we should boycott each and every function organized by politicians
or where politicians have been invited as Chief Guests or Guest of Honour. I
have watched a lot of Tiatrs in Dubai but I will abstain myself from this Tiatr
as my protest in solidarity to my fellow Goan brethren.
Our Tiatrist brothers and sisters, have been criticising our politicians left
right and centre, it is good to see their courage and commitment to the cause,
but I request our producers and directors, when the Tiatrs are booked make sure
to tell the guys that they will not perform if any politician is the Chief
Guest, it will, certainly be a move in the right direction to show our disgust
for our pathetic politicians.
I do not understand why we need a politician to preside over a Tiatr, here in
Dubai and that too, the one who said we Goans squeal like pigs, while he planned
to provide our youth, an opportunity of a life time of becoming "watchmen". It
is indeed time to show the PWD Minister that we Goans mean business and that we
don't take kindly to the likes of him, who have taken Goa and Goans for a jolly
good ride.
In my earlier days in the Gulf I use to admire the unity and the efforts of our
Kuwaiti Goans towards Goa's causes, they had strongly supported the Konkanni
movement, among all the Goans in the Gulf, the Kuwaiti Goans were the ones who
projected Goa in the Gulf with our culture and our mother tongue. Of late I have
been very disappointed with them because even after witnessing the woes in Goa
created by our corrupt politicians they still seem to have adulation for these
monsters of corruption and depravity and are facilitating them at the drop of
the hat, sometime back both Mickky and Churchill were given the honours and I
have just heard that there is a football tournament in the name of the other
Almeao, who is running illegal mining in Goa. I plead to you my dear UAE and
Kuwaiti Goans, please stop this sacrilege towards Goa and Goans, boycott our
present politicians, we should be out for their blood and not to facilitate
them, they are the cause of all our misfortunes in Goa.
UAE Goans please for the love of Goa showing our solidarity with our brothers
and sisters in Goa - Boycott this Tiatr if Churchill is invited as Chief Guest.

Historically, revolutionary ideas have emerged first among artists. Artist add new flavours to old dominant ideas and plays the role of a gear wheel in the mechanism of the society for a change. A widespread observation is that an artistic talent has a free spirit. Art and Artist are independent and tolerate in propensity for making fun of major and minor tyrants in society. Art and Artist has its own power in the world, and is as much a force in the power play of global politics today as it once was in the arena of cold war politics. Art is universal and should not be confined in the four walls of politics. There are nevertheless, examples where artists employ art in the service of political change and vice versa. I always believed art and the artist should be apolitical. For me, art is art and politics is politic. So, I wonder why the organisers of Tiatr "ADVOGAD” invited Mr Churchill to be the honourable chief guest? And what is honourable about this man? Why Churchill should come all the way from Goa to attend Tiatr in Dubai? Is he coming as Konkani interpreter for the Goan English speaking audience?Is he coming with his new employment scheme for Dubai Goans to work as watchmen with Rajeha’s? I am quite certain there other sinister motives behind his Trip to Dubai.
