I'm also having deployment issues. Mine are slightly different. It gets
stuck on:

Checking if new version is ready to serve.
Will check again in 60 seconds.


And if I increment the version number in app.yaml, no effect. I even upgrade
to the most recent version of the SDK!

My app id is nathanvan-creatia if any of the google people believe this is
confined to a small group.
